Gear inspects the armor for a few seconds before answering. 'Hes obviously lieing not only can he sense the steel in there but you cant densify gold enough to make decent armor. Especially since hes a Pegisis the weight of densified gold would practically crush him, hmm it would probably be too much for even large Earth Ponies. On another note it would seem that his soul wavers very faintly when he lies, i'll be sure to watch out for that. But he isn't lieing about the crossbow it is a powerful weapon, painted gold as well but that certainly wont retract from its power.' Upon hearing about firing a crossbow she stops and returns her gaze to Dorado. "Sure do you have a target in mind. Because i'm sure that Ironheart wouldn't mind placing this upon a nearby rooftop." After stating this Gear reshapes the metal that she had gotten from Vickers into a shield sized target. (She had been wearing it on her right fore-leg up until now, in a similar manner to plate armor. (Metal dose not have weight to Gear anymore due to her constant use of it.))

Actually i think that that caravan is attacking one of the merk camps, but you and some other specialists are going into the city. I give no guarantees but that was my impression of it.

I hide in cities well after dark, after all my coat is black enough to blend and a little dark powder and so is my tail. I mean i haven't been in any of Equestria's cities but i could adapt given time, i wasn't an expert in ambushes and covert ops for nothing. Anyways that's a good question... But i have no idea. Maybe the druid knows, i'm willing to bet that she knows more than most. 'Her gaze finally rests upon the golden armor and crossbow.' "Am i correct to assume that those are ceremonial or are they made out of more than just gold, as its a rather soft metal? Still though the craftsponyship is most impressive, dose it have a purpose other than looking nice?" (I know that you may have expected her to only be interested in the crossbows, but Gear is from Germaney and one of their smiths too so she likes all weapons and armor.)

@@AnonBrony, House Whitegold - Manehatten - District of Delights - Dorado's Home (Thanks for mentioning that stuff about the Arquebus, it really helped me refine my thoughts on the improved design.) "Thank you for your hospitality and don't worry, Ironheart is just overprotective he isn't allowed to enter personal homes without my permission. Besides i'm not completely helpless, if i was i would be dead by now wouldn't i?" Gear wipes her hooves off at the door and enters taking a seat on the couch. "Actually that weapon is a result of refined designs from an Earthborn hoof cannon, a brilliant lead scientist, and an attentive leading researcher. Most of the ponies on the research team where not very bright, but the lead scientist was brilliant with good ideas even if the team couldn't implement them because of cost. I saw the original design and it was far more impressive than the result, but even with his leading researcher's help he couldn't reign the stupid ones completely. So the original trigger was scraped for a magically operated one, its range was reduced to crossbow level, and when somepony put forward a design for a better reloading system it was discarded because they didn't have the proper connections. They even continued to use inferior powder, because it currently has non combustible materials i can even sense the metal in it. This causes misfires when there isn't enough combustible materials in it and it could even cause the gun to explode violently, but it could be removed by a proper purification spell and you would see an increase in power, range and accuracy. 'looks at Dorado seriously' Admittedly the current Arquebus is fairly impressive but i could do far better, 'returns to her normal absentmindedness' especially if i had one of those repeaters to play with then i could probably do far more with the design." (Ironheart is on the rooftop across form Dorado's house, so hes quite visible and not really trying to hide.)

Hey its called "creative licence" for a good reason. He'd probably be happy that some people like his world enough to do an RP, besides we started planing this before we where aware of the character placement so i think where doing pretty good.

"Oh don't worry about convenience, i would never design something that wasn't easy to use even if i tend to make it a bit complicated. You wouldn't need to worry about draw time either i make machines well, so it would reload nearly as fast as Isabella without any need for you to do more than mentally command it to reload, all you would have to do would be to insert the bolt. It would have almost the same amount of power and range as one of your larger crossbows and be roughly the same size as Isabella. Even though i cant promise that it would weigh the same as Isabella i don't use iron i refine my metal into steel, just like the stuff you'd see in Germaney so it would be far lighter than a full size crossbow." (Shes just thinking out loud by this point.) (She seems a little disgusted at the mention of the Arquebus.) "Yes i am familiar with that particular weapon and its a shame that the all unicorn team of morons that made it screwed up so badly. That weapon had such promise but they made it so counter-intuitively, there was no need for those clearly unicorn supremacist morons to make the trigger so hard to use. They even managed to reduce the power of a gunpowder weapon. Have you seen some of the Earthborn ones they even have repeaters, admittedly they kinda screwed up in regards to range but still. It would be foals play to make one usable by Pegisi and Earth Ponies, but i'm not allowed to purchase one of those because i got some of those morons fired when they where assigned under me. Normally this wouldn't affect me but one of their rich fathers, who where probably the only reason that they had their jobs , made sure that i wouldn't benefit from his recently jobless sons work. He even sent a pair of assassins at me. Either way if you wanted me to make you a gunpowder weapon you'd have to get one for me." (You might notice that a suspicious looking Ironheart is still tailing you, cause he had to go over an open patch in the rooftops.)

You know i could probably rig up something special to lessen the draw, but that would take a bit of time.....! Oh i could make an auto-drawing matrix, that would even allow me to make a real ranged weapon for Ironheart. Actually if i put enough power into it i could probably get rid of the draw altogether. Thank you for that. This will even give me a purpose for some of my more useless materials. (Says to herself.) Hmm i think that ill try to build a ranged construct next, but how am i going to handle reloading?.... Dam i need one of those 'magic missile' spells to ensure optimum efficiency, but i don't know how to do that spell yet. I'll try using a container of some sort but i think that the spell would work best. (Focuses back on Dorado.) I'm sorry but i only know theory about accuracy cause i haven't actually used a crossbow yet, i was planning getting one before i started using them in my constructs but the metal shortage made my time a little scarce."

Believe me i understand that, but just the idea of an alliance between those 2 is a bit scary to think about.

...Oh wow i hope that dose not happen Earthborn would probably kill Gear on contact. (At high cost but Gear is the epitome of what Earthborn hates.)

I've always guarded the forest from intruders, there was just a change in how the forest commanded me. It used to subtlety steer me towards a threat but now... Eh same thing really i guess its just that the guiding force is getting less subtle and more direct, cause occasional i get letters given to me by animals. It was a little weird at first but eh who am i to complain, der wald ist wie der wald dosis. (grins)' After the 2 mares left Shadow climbed back into his tree, and followed them from the network of branches. All the while looking for something to rip apart. (Preferably a pony, they have nice screams.) That said i still haven't found a loophole to get out of the crossbow trap. (You certainly stumbled upon good bait.) Just so you know i'm thinking about several ways that Gear could improve your armament, so hostility may not be in our best interests.) "Yes that's my caretaker Vickers. VICKERS OVER HERE!" (By the way the yelling is just for show.) At Gear's command Vickers walks over and confirms in your idea that this one is harmless. Even his eyes are a friendly light green and look happy. When Vickers reaches Gear and Dorado he puts his hand to his chest in a manner that if he could talk you would swear he would be saying "At your service!" It even appears that he has already acquired the metal that Gear wanted to pick up. "Oh thank you Vickers if you could take that home and relieve Ironheart of his cargo too i would be quite thankful. (looks back at Dorado) No Vickers isn't a fighting type but he can do almost anything else. Servant types are very helpful and efficient if they are given a week or two to learn what you expect of them, and Vickers is special and very clever. I'm actually planning on giving him a voice because he is easily smart enough to communicate, but i need to finish my current project first." (Vickers seems to treat Dorado kindly, but if you looked close enough you might notice that his left eye flickered slightly almost as if he where appraising you.)

Ironheart is almost as smart as a normal pony by now (As he is obviously demonstrating by continuing to watch Dorado for any sudden moves. (Clearly suspicious unlike Gear.)) cause he's been with me for so long, so it would be like forcefully putting a family member to sleep and hes made it quite clear that he dose not want to rest right now. But if hes unnerving for you ill make him leave for a bit, wouldn't want to scare you away now do i?" She finishes in a clearly joking tone. Immediately afterwords Ironheart leaps onto a low hanging roof and follow's from Manehattan's twisting (and surprisingly good for camouflage) rooftops. (Dorado may notice him occasionally but he is no longer obvious, however if Dorado looks at him Ironheart will always be watching Dorado very closely. Almost as if Ironheart suspects that Dorado is by far the most dangerous target there. (Also where almost at the marketplace so a far more friendly looking construct is visible. (Vickers is a friendly looking, bipedial, and lightly armored construct with 2 limbs but if you look very closely (But it is extremely hard to notice.) you may notice markings on his left arm that suggest that it has hidden capabilities.)) While they where impressive but by far not my best work. I told them that crystal wasn't the best material to make a golem out of its too fragile and i cant make a decent matrix out of crystal, but they wanted to use a surplus material so crystal it was. No Ironheart is the original and far better model, he never tires, is capable of advanced thought, is powered by power matrix's that i made myself, and has a neural link to his master. So in regards to shutting him down you would have to remove his power cores and pretty much reduce him to a pile of scrap, which would be hard to do as i did make him to be hard to kill. But i suppose i could turn him off if i wanted to but its a mental command and i think it would be unwise." Gear says and shortly after she looks back and asks "Would you mind moving up a little your making him twitchy by following him like that. Sorry he gets nervous easily." (But if you looked at Ironheart he was a bit twitchy but it looked like nothing, however he had been studying Dorado just like Dorado had been studying him. Almost as if he was sizing him up. (Ironheart is clearly not stupid and appears well aware of what Dorado is saying, and unlike Gear his red eyes narrowed in suspicion when Dorado mentioned turning him off.))

@,@, House Everfree - Tree of Wisdom - Edge of Clearing After finishing off the rest of the wing with a rather large crunch, Shadow decides that it might be wise to treat a potential leader with a bit more respect (After all she dose not feel like a weakling like some of the others.) so when he next speaks he sounds a bit more respectful. "Heh yah we tend to be pretty dumb but there's an exception to every rule, i just have the fortune to be the exception. But i wouldn't be so confident about seeing me coming. I have ways to sneak up on anypony if i put some effort into it but ill be sure to approach you with a bit more decorum next time. After all i find it wise not to upset things that are capable of hurting me. Anyways i'm Shadow and its nice to meet a pony that can protect themselves. Most either treat me like i'm retarded or run screaming... though i'm rather fond of the latter." Shortly after saying this to Dorado Gear mentally commands Vickers to meet her at the marketplace before he buys any food.
