Haha, trust me, I listened to this twenty times over the day it came out. I'm so happy that SWS is returning to post hard-core! I'm getting into Midwest emo and hardcore music so I'm glad they're getting back to their roots!

  2. finally getting the full pop-punk aesthetic in my bedroom that i've always wanted. Vinyls on dark shelves, string lights illuminating them and the band posters above and beside my bed, and soon to be a giant wall flag of one of my favorite albums.

I've heard of a few of those, I'll give some of these a listen soon!

You'll have to give me some band recommendations. My favorite pop-punk bands are Knuckle Puck, Real Friends, Green Day, and older Paramore. Always looking to expand my music library!

i feel like this music video was an attempt to fit as many pop punk stereotypes into it as possible. Skateboarding, passing out fliers for their band, black jeans, a vest, black and white filters...

      I love it.

  5. I've hit another roadblock with discovering music. I've generated quite the list of artists I now enjoy, but I'm always trying to expand that list.

that's probably a good thing for my bank account, though...

I do quite often, in the form of poetry. I just don't post it here as much anymore. @Altastrofae

  6. Went to a hot topic with my sister earlier. It was nice, lot of cool stuff!

No twenty one pilots though. 7.5/10

I'm surprised the Hot Topic you went to didn't have TOP stuff.. especially with all of the news about them coming back. We have a small section dedicated to Twenty One Pilots merchandise at the one I work at.

  7. Shattered Mindscape

    It's April

And as the rain falls, the gloom rises

    Nothing, does it wash away

    And you lay alone

Lost in the torture chamber that is your own head.

    You struggle against the chains

Trying to escape the cycle of misery

    But you realize...

    You locked yourself inside

    And you have the key...

Why does the key not work?

    Counting the days in captivity

    Thoughts of escape leave you

You question if the key is even to the cell.

And you forget that why you're in the Hellish Alcatraz...

Is because you're the only one who thinks you actually deserve it

i got pretty lucky. i was given IV sedation, and i was already tired, so they didnt even need to ask me to count down from 10, i kind of just passed out while the lady i was having a conversation about Paramore with was talking to another doctor and then I woke up being wheeled into the recovery wing.

  9. i probably won't get the answers i'm looking for, but i've unraveled quite the web, and it tells a story that validates a lot of my past resentment. i wasn't the only one who was victim to it, and it's sad that a friend of mine dealt with it too.

Doing a lot of reflecting, I guess. A lot happened this past year and I'm working my way through all of the problems I ignored that came back to haunt me. But, I'm doing fine mentally

it sucks, not wanting to dig up the past, but wanting someone to answer for the things they've done.

  12. I aways wanted to see what a country would look like if it wasnt controlled by thegoverment. But by privatized corporations.

Would it have the interest of the people in mind, or would they exploit their citizens for every dollar they make?

These are questions I want answers to.

    1. DuskSong

the companies would still make sure we live and are able to be active consumers, but they definitely would push their profit making agenda over everything at that point, but i'm not too sure, there are a lot of good willed companies (but a lot of those are nonprofits).

exactly, so we'd just get straight to the exploitation. with no governmental regulations, they'd go back to pre-EPA America, and probably increase slave labor activity overseas.

Exploitation would occur with a fake facade of caring about the people, companies in the government controlled US already do it. Even outside our borders, such as Nestle getting chocolate from countries that rely on slave labor.

  15. Im going to get crusified for this:

So, NN was repealed. For me, i dont see any noticable changes. In fact, i think MLPF is actually loading faster. No 50 million internet disconnections, ive pretty much had a smooth signal for a while now.

Im still alive. Sure it is pouring cats and dogs outside and its thundering but nothing out of the ordinary is really happening.

@R.D.DashIt did, but the date of it going into effect was pushed off until now.

  16. I'm seeing people unironically posting shit on Twitter like "Net Neutrality regulations ended and we're all still alive. Fucking liberals were just trying to push their agenda!"

I mean... no shit? We're not going to die from it. No one said we would. And maybe, just maybe, change takes time?

    1. DuskSong

      DuskSong

exactly- ISPs are not going to implement changes immediately. They'll come in time, just slow enough to avoid heavy pushback.

the repeal went into effect today. ISPs aren't going to suddenly implement all of the changes they want- that'd cause massive backlash. What will happen will occur over a longer time period. Comcast already removed some of their NN promises from their website months ago back in December. Changes won't be immediate- but they will come, with variance depending on your ISP.

  20. Admission time:

I went to a hot topic once. Well what i believe was a hot topic.

They had a lot of merch based on popular forms of entertainment. Si scored me some sonic and walking dead figurines. (Which i dont have because they broke) but it was fun

  24. You guys like poetry? How about poetry with meaning?

because thats what im working on.

the title is "The Cult Of Thought." Now, its not a literal cult, its mainly a social commentary on how people are figurativly forced to think and say things a certain way otherwise they will lose their jobs. Their homes. And their family.

Much like a cult. You are required to behave a certain way. Ottherwise you will be outcasted. Hence the name.

FOOTNOTE: THIS POEM HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE TV SERIES ROSEANNE, LETS GET THAT OUT OF THE WAY

  25. quick poem:

i want them to stop telling me who to be

wasted all this time, you cannot limit me

try to knock me down but you've set me free

and you think that you can bring me down

but i'll come back swinging to take the crown

went blind being optimistic, don't tell me i'm acting cold

got took down too much trying to go for gold

so i'm done waiting for my moment to come

achieving success, marching to the beat of my own drum

and you can look to yourself when you ask me who i've become

the pressure's getting too much and i'm trying not to succumb to it

with how far i've come, i'd be an idiot just to quit

i never belonged, and that's something i'll always admit

but the show isn't over yet, i'm done playing games like life's some sort of arcade

stay your blade, i dont need anyone anymore, being a stray doesnt make me afraid

as i fade, take one last look- because this is what everyone has fucking made.
