Jeric's post in Why is the MCM stuff still up? was marked as the answer
Cause I still have MCM stuff to give away and post. Though I likely will be moving it down soon.

Jeric's post in Whoops I had a thread deleted! was marked as the answer
Move this to Feedback as it was Forum policy related.
Some topics are locked as they are formatted or written in such a way that does not invite open discussion. We normally direct people to do a blog as they are more suited for editorial style concepts. Some topics are locked directing members that the post would be better suited as a status update. I know that this may sound elitist, but a one or two line post is more at home on a social media feed than a message board. This message board in particular prizes substance and open discussion. We hide and lock some posts because we feel that the subject matter is not appropriate for the forums (paraphilia, NSFW, flame bait, etc). We also move topics that are mis-categorized (placed in the wrong area). The only one of the above that will get you a warning with points is flame baiting and NSFW. The others we would generally just lock and move on. A few are locked because we have long established topics that are the exclusive place to posts said topic in.
That is pretty much it in a nutshell.

Jeric's post in Deleting posts was marked as the answer
Just a point of clarification - Even Mods don't delete posts. We hide them from view from the community. Due to the nature of several incidents where law enforcement may be involved, deleting is not ever going to be an option.
And there have been situations were abuse was noticed and acted on. Currently members will post something so another member sees it, then goes in and edits the post to try and hide it from staff. I've caught this a number of times myself.
Because of that happening, we won't be applying a feature to hide your own posts for members.

Jeric's post in A lounge area with fewer rules. was marked as the answer
This idea would literally violate the TOS of Google AdSense which is the primary revenue stream for MLPF and Poniverse. We loose AdSense, the lights go out here. As much as it would appeal to some to have a more mature section here, the answer is that such a section would be unfeasible.

Jeric's post in About a certain setting description.. was marked as the answer
I admit that I have a strong desire to hide many hidden jokes across the forum now.
I'm actually being serious. Little idiosyncratic notes such as that are the reason I fell in love with this place. It is why I also do silly things like banish all members to the moon and made you all Blank Flanks when Nightmare Moon, and Dimond Tiara, and Buffy took over MLPF.
Well that and my perpetual search for the executive washroom key! Spoon hides my precious!

Jeric's post in The delete and lock buttons aren't working. was marked as the answer
, I replicated your account and tested the lock and delete links on status updates and both work. Delete does nor permanently delete a status update ... it hides it from everyone but staff and you. You will notice the difference between a visible and invisible status update by the hue of the update. If it is red ... it is hidden. If it is locked you will see a padlock icon on the left side of the date/time stamp.

Jeric's post in Removing/Hiding Topics was marked as the answer
, if you report the post you want removed, it goes to a report system were multiple Moderators and Admins can review and is easier to follow and track than a Private Message and is the preferred method for this function. I will never remove a post 'cause reasons', especially if there are opinions presented in the form of replies. Once Google picks it up and indexes it ... it is a poor reflection on MLP Forums if said post or topic is not available when a searching party clicks on the link. That said, if you have personal information in the topic, or something that you may find embarrassing ... then yes we will likely hide it from public view.
PM's are great, however you will get a much faster reaction time with reporting the post with your reason. Especially if a staff member you PM'ed is on a leave of absence or doesn't have access to moderate the area your post is in.

Jeric's post in I need help! was marked as the answer
You can reply to existing topics in the Season Forums, but you cannot create new topics in there. You also need to make sure the post meets the minimum character count.

Jeric's post in wrong discussion was marked as the answer
I'll move it, when this happens you can report your post using the report link instead of creating a topic.

Jeric's post in Where would be the proper place to post this thread? was marked as the answer
Well if this isn't a grey area issue.
@A10
If your focus is Feedback and they are originals made by you (new positions) ... Pony Fan Art
If your focus is to share resources Creative Resources - Visual Art
If you want to also take requests I would recommend opening a separate Request Guild topic and move any completed vectors to your CR or FA thread.

Jeric's post in A question i had since i joined this forum that hasn't been answered. was marked as the answer
, that is called a member title. It is a perk of financially supporting MLP Forums through subscribing or donating. Please see this FAQ
You may see non subscribers or donors with unique member titles. That is because they donated in the past and their most recent title change is still visible. Staff also have the ability to alter title as a perk due to volunteering to support the site's various functions.

Jeric's post in Show all comments was marked as the answer
Many special characters will break the status update functionality and occasionally formatting. In this case it will break the 'show all' function. Status Updates have limitations on IPB. I did do a test on one that worked so it isn't you or an unknown characteristic.

Jeric's post in Subdivisions in all about show was marked as the answer
Well ...
Show Discussion has each Season ... And a general discussion encompassing four years of posts. That leaves two questions?
Separate Show Discussion into what exactly. What categories would the majority find makes sense?
Secondly, I doubt I would find the appropriate number of staff willing to read that many topics and manually move them to new empty forum categories. We did that to Octavias Hall Creative Resourses and it took three of us two months to finish.
Logistical nightmare's are not well received

Depends. I'm sending you a PM. Show character names can be ... tricksy.

Jeric's post in Frozen profile view counter was marked as the answer
This appears to be functioning currently though I am not sure yet why it broke and why it suddenly resumed, but all missing views appear to have been accounted for.

Jeric's post in Site Won't Load On Wii U Browser was marked as the answer
Correct. IPB 3.4.x and MLP Forums are not compatible with the WiiU browser, and there would be a bit of tinkering needed (for example including the JS object/scripting to access the controller) for it to even be viable. Currently there are tasks opened specifically to address Internet Explorer issues so this would not be a priority.

Jeric's post in Blocking Forum Games posts from Topics I've Participated In box was marked as the answer
@Knight Hadron, unfortunately this feature does not exists at present.
You could click here if you want the nuclear option and uncheck Enable Board Index Face panel. It will remove Topics I've participated in, and Recently discussed forum topics. I don't think that is what you are going for though.

Jeric's post in my banner has changed im unsure why was marked as the answer
The banners are changed every week. We run monthly banner contests where members can vote on their top three preferred banners (a new poll will be going up at midnight so watch for updates in this thread . The Admin group also accepts ad hoc banner submissions for Season Five episodes, and I have been known to personally request banners for specific events.

Jeric's post in What is this sites format/layout? was marked as the answer
The two accurate answers. Though there is a lot of custom work that has gone into MLPF, the vendor and software used is IPS and IP Board. I'll go ahead and close this out.

Jeric's post in Mobile character limit was marked as the answer
This is a known issue with no simple resolution. There are forums that will tell you that the character count is 100 when it is 20. It has been an issue as long as I have been here. Closing.
