  1. Humans essentially created MLP, so we can't be that bad, right?
  2. What they'd do with each other is their own business. I don't mind the fact that others would be willing to do so, it's just that I can't possibly feel the same way. ...Excuse me while I remind myself that this is all headcanon and cry inside because ponies don't actually exist.
  3. I don't care how human they may look; to me, they still look like ponies. They still ARE ponies. They have four hoofed legs, a tail, and really big eyes. Probably as big as your hand. I am a human, I hope to one day find another human mate to form an intimate relationship with. Bottom line, I don't find ponies to be sexually attractive. They are adorable, yes. Not sexy. Doesn't mean I won't form a strong friendship with one, if given the chance.
  4. The show-style ponies look good, but how would we (in our realistic world) fit with them in the first place? Either we would change into an MLP-styled form ("Equestria Girls" humans?), or the ponies would change into a form more fitting for our world... like that Pinkie Pie. *shudders*
  5. The problem that some people have with getting in an intimate relationship with a pony is (this is my interpretation) that ponies are NOT humanoid. That is, despite being intelligent creatures, they have little to no resemblance to human biology. They may be adorable, intelligent, and sapient, but they still remind us of horses. Commander Shepard can get into relationships with a variety of non-human species, but all of them are humanoid. This includes Asari, Turian, Drell, Quarian, and even Prothean. However, notice how all of the species resemble humans: they are bipedal, have multi-fingered extremities on both arms (including opposable thumbs), and are capable of intelligent thought. Their body size and compositions still resemble humans, though some more so than others. Commander Shepard has no romance options for the Krogan, Volus, Elcor, Hanar, Reapers (lol), etc... despite the fact they are all sentient beings. So, to say that Commander Shepard would be disappointed in one's choice not to get in an intimate relationship with an Equestrian species is unfair. It's not xenophilia. It's pure and simple biology. This is just my own justification as to why I feel this way. But, like I said, to each his/her own. There's been canon in ME of Krogan+Asari relationships, so who's to say there can't be a Human+Equestrian relationship?
  6. This is what I was thinking, so that makes two of us on the odd side out.
  7. Thanks! My username originated from, you guessed it, music! "Syntax Theory" has to do with musical theory and musical syntax, two fields that I've been studying for a while.
  8. First: Ahh! Your avatar! Second: To me, it is. No matter how much I loved the pony, I'd always see them as a pony. Perhaps if they were more humanoid in form, I would be more comfortable. They're adorable, certainly! But an intimate relationship is not something I'd consider, personally. To each his/her own, I say.
  9. Hey there! I'm Syntax, and I've created this thread to showcase my music works. I'm new here, but I came to share my music, so I supposed I'd get right into it! I will periodically update this thread as I create more music, so come back often! Before I get too deep into anything, here's a link to my Soundcloud. So, a little about me and my music... I love music with a passion! Anything that has to do with music I can easily get into. I don't restrict myself to listening certain genres; I can get into pretty much anything (pop, orchestral, electronic, country, rock... the list goes forever)! I've worked with music for 10 years (more than half my life), and I've been composing my own music for 4 years. I work mainly in the orchestral field, ranging from classical to contemporary; though I've delved into the electronic field quite a bit as well. My favorite composers include Bach, Mozart, Beethoven (they're pretty much mandatory), Stravinsky, Antonio Vivaldi, Brian Tyler, Hans Zimmer, Patrick Doyle, and Howard Shore. I use Logic Pro 9 (I don't want to upgrade to 10 just yet), with an assortment of plug-ins and VSTs to accompany my music-making aresenal. I am currently accepting requests! Really, ask me anything, and I'll get back to you (listen to my music first, of course)! That being said, it isn't a guarantee that I'll accept, but it won't hurt to ask! I'm seriously looking high and low for musical work, and fan-music seems like a nice start. If anyone has any questions, please feel free to ask! I'll get back to you faster than Prestissimo! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- First on the list! I've finished this track recently (Soundcloud Link): Gypsy Bard - Orchestral Remix https://pony.fm/tracks/2083-gypsy-bard-orchestral-remix I loved MLP FiW. The original music was amazing, especially the lyrical songs! Gypsy Bard was a big favorite, and I knew I just had to spin it off as my own. Listen to it, tell me what you think! I'll take any form of criticism, advice, insults, whatever!
  10. If I were a pony, then sure! If I were still human... I have my morals. It's a tough decision, as there are no other sapient beings on Earth other than humans. Makes you wonder: if there were other species of equally intelligent life living alongside us, would it be okay to form intimate relationships with them? (makes me think of Mass Effect-type relationships) MLP ponies are anthropomorphic, but they are not humanoid. Another something that I'd consider.
  11. Haha, thanks! My best friend is a cellist, and her and I have played in an orchestra together for years. While strings are currently not my forte (I'm more of a brass player; started with trumpet), I still am in love with the beautiful sounds the stringed instruments can make. I'm hoping to expand my knowledge of instruments to the string family one day. Also, while on the topic of Octavia, I find it curious that her cutie mark is a Treble Clef, though she is popularized with playing a bass instrument (Cello or Bass). I don't mind it too much, because to me the treble clef always looked more aesthetically pleasing!
  12. Hey there! I'm Syntax, and I've come here to the MLP Forums to better connect myself to the MLP fanbase! I've always been a passive part of the fanbase, never really doing much in terms of expressing my love for the show. Now, 4 seasons in, I've finally decided to join a forum! In real life, I'm an aspiring high-school musician/composer, with big dreams for the future. I love music with a burning passion, and I hope to be a professional composer one day. Despite being a fan of MLP since Season 1, I've never really focused my work on anything MLP related (partially because I wasn't confident in my skill to compose publicly, until recently). But now, I'm gearing towards actively composing for the fanbase. I've only started, and it's already a lot of fun! I'm hoping to make some new friends here, and to be a bigger part of this wonderful community. See you around! -Syntax Oh, and for obvious reasons, Octavia is best pony.
