  1. This place is SO AWESOME!

  2. @Lightning Bliss "Don't feel so bad about those ears. Where I come from, large ears, let alone having them, is considered attractive. The same with having large wings, so I've lost in both those departments! *chuckle*" You notice that he grins nostalgically as you mention your brother. "It's just me and Nadia... Ironically, my parents had only 2 children, although you're expected to have dozens in Griffonia..." His expression soon becomes melancholy and depressed. "...I miss her. I left her in Griffonia, there was only enough money for 1 of us to get on the ship... I hope she's okay..." Roac stares at the table and wipes something from his eye... Was that a tear? "I... I typically don't talk about my past with anypony... I'm not sure why, but I trust you..." He continues with a cheeky tone."...And very few earn my trust, so you must be doing something right." Roac pauses, staring into space. In his mind, a song from his childhood is playing (I can't properly send links through mobile, so I'll just tell you the name; "What Love Really Means") Several minutes of silence pass by, and he eventually snaps out of his little flashback. Roac clears his throat. "Ah... Forgive me, I'm not normally like this...I don't know what has gotten into me tonight." He wipes his eyes and checks the clock. It's still somewhat early in the celebration. (OOC: I won't be able to reply as often for the next 5 days, so just act as if Roac decides to sit back and observe for awhile.)
  3. @Lightning Bliss He chuckles. "Ah, Saddle Arabian clothing is not much to behold. The things that the rich wear are very much like the things worn by the mares here at the Gala, whereas the peasants, such as myself, wear only what we need to resist the harsh weather. Turbans, shemaghs, and cloaks. Saddle Arabians have their height because they are... Not actually ponies. They are a race called horses-- resistant to all types of magic, but physically on-par with any griffon. In fact, those of the northern half of Griffonian seem to spend most of their time getting in petty wars with a bunch of horses who live on a little patch of island known as Scoltland." He pauses to notice your blushing. "Ah... Forgive me, I did not intend to make you uncomfortable... I am simply trying to make a few friends, despite what prejudices are against me and my kin." "... You know, I have often been praised for my power of deduction. My sister, Nadia, once told me that I should have come here and become a detective. I never did, though... Maybe I should, when I get some more money in order to keep myself afloat."
  4. @Lightning Bliss Roac backpedals quickly. "Oh, I was a reporter, once. I did an undercover story on the Southern Griffonian chapter.. Got a bit of money from the Guard on the side, as well." This is actually true-- the reporter job was his first actual line of work, before he became a thief himself. He calms down and fixes his gaze upon you. He's just trying to make a good first impression. You can tell that there is more than meets the eye with this griffon, but he is genuinely trying to be normal and make some friends-- especially with you. "So, um... Have you ever been to Southern Griffonia? It's my homeland, directly west of Saddle Arabia." Roac begins to feel something-- something that hasn't been in in his heart for 10 years... Friendship. That one thing that binds us all, that is as important to Equestrians as the sun is to a flower... Has been completely absent in Roac since before he sailed into Equestrian seas. Roac speaks, whispering, "They call you the Princess of Peace for a good reason. . . You have earned that title."

    request Avatar based on OC

I would like a simple avatar based on my OC, Roac. You can find his page, with a picture (made using a griffon generator because I have no art skills) at the bottom. I would like for him to have a dark, hooded cloak, perhaps like Garret from Thief. Anyways, good luck to anypony who decides to try their hoof at this! http://mlpforums.com/page/roleplay-characters/_/roac-r6443
  6. @Lightning Bliss He talks about your issues with business. "Ah, the downfall of monarchies. See, I've seen a little bit of everything, including some criminal industries. They don't run on one person doing everything; no, there is a " leader" who advises all of the others, but everyone handles their work." "In the Thieves Guild, there's someone who handles the selling of stolen goods, another who distributes jobs among the various thieves, and a few who help finance everything. There isn't just a bunch of guildmasters who juggle everything-- the work is equally and evenly divided amongst all of the guild. It seems ironic that a criminal has the sense to do that, yet Celestia herself doesn't." Roac chuckles to himself at that last quip. All of this information makes you wonder what he actually DOES for a living. From the sound of it, he must have gotten a bucket list together and completed most of it already. "Hm... One last question; what is it like to ascend? I'm a griffon, so I'll never experience it myself, so I'm curious."
  7. @Lightning Bliss Roac grows quiet, caught in thought. He's much nicer than he first appeared to be. "... I... I should do this more often..." He laughs at his statement. "You... You are a good pony, Bliss. Equestria is privileged to have a princess such as yourself in power." ~I didn't expect to find this here... potential friends? I have to say, this is a good piece to find, better than any golden forks or whatnot...~ Roac gets so enthralled with these new ponies that he forgets about what he had originally came to the Gala for, completely happy to sit and talk with Bliss and her friends for the rest of the night. He rests his head on his knuckles, and asks yet another question. "So... How is it to live as royalty? To have... money, stuff like that? Is it as good as all the others make it seem like?" He looks at you intently, his hawk-like head tilted to the side as his amber eyes glow wide and brightly with inquisitive energy. He seems, to put it simply, very interested in how it feels to be wealthy and privileged. It's odd-- earlier he seemed brooding and sinister, but now he's very innocent and goodhearted. @Doc. Volt Roac laughs. "Actually, you're partially right about that. Although griffons can be just as good or bad as you ponies, we tend to lean towards violence. We're made up of 2 different animals, and both of them are hunting predators."
  8. (OOC: I knew that IRL.) Roac smirks and sits down at the table. "Thank you, ملكة جمال. I appreciate the hospitality..." He examines Bliss's crown briefly. "... Your crown looks beautiful... It might look better on you with some jade or sapph--" Roac covers his beak in embarrassment. "Forgive me again, highness! I just think about things, and I end up blurting them out loud..." He calms down somewhat, and his gaze becomes thoughtful. "So... How is the Gala? Wait, nevermind-- if it weren't for the fact that your friends were here-- yes, I can tell.-- you wouldn't be here, if you had any say in the matter..." He turns to Bliss "...And you must have the worst of it. The newest princess, the one that everypony is itching to meet-- but they don't really care, for the most part, about you. They only see you as a golden opportunity to get a better standing in the world, not as an actual mare with emotions and a life of her own. Luckily, you have some true friends, people you can depend on to help you through all this nonsense. I couldn't go on for a day in your position, not the way I am." Roac leans back and folds his claws together, sitting quite calmly after a burst of passionate and eloquent speech.
  9. @Lightning Bliss @Brechard @Polaris @Doc. Volt Almost as soon as he left, the strange griffon stumbles back into the ballroom. It appears that he just got thrown out of an argument between two stallions who have had just a few too many appletinis. The griffon brushes off his suit and walks towards you as if nothing had happened. "Ah, um... Hello all..." He turns to Lightning Dust and Obscure "Forgive me for stumbling into your way back there-- it's my first time here, and I was hoping to meet some ponies." "My name's Roac. Pleased to meet you all!" He appears very amiable, having lost his suspicious, calculating gaze. You notice, now that you can get a good look at him, that his suit, although sharp in appearance, is practically skintight on him. ~Discord, a princess, a scientist, and a reporter. All of them ponies that I would normally run the risk of getting caught by hanging around, but tonight is time to try something different.~ "Oh, and um, forgive my lack of wings. Most ponies are kind of disturbed by that, so I just wanted to get that taken care of before-paw." The griffon grins nervously. He appears to be good at a few things, and people skills are not one of those things.
  10. @Lightning Bliss @Doc. Volt @Brechard The griffon becomes noticeably uncomfortable as Volt arrives, eyeing him cautiously. ~An intellectual pegasus. Probably works over at the Weather Factory, in Cloudsdale. I've heard only bad things about that place, so it will be best to be cautious around him...~ Roac walks out of the ballroom, "catching" a few valuable objects left on the tables without any pony noticing. ~This place is teeming with royalty and aristocrats, but it's teeming with guards, too. I'd better be careful if I don't want to leave on a noose.~ Roac shoves his claw into his pocket to feel for his blackjack. ~Good, it's still there. That means that I'm the only thief in Equestria crazy enough to try and rob the Gala...~ ~... Well, as long as I don't have any competition, I might as a well have some fun, right? After all, this is the Gala-- the most famous event in the world, the one time where every nation meets for a single purpose; to enjoy themselves. Why should it be barred from a thief, or any of the working class, for that matter? There's some sort of saying for this... Oh, it's, uh... "you only live once." ~
  11. @Brechard @Lightning Bliss (NOTE: I'm still new to this setup, and I'm using mobile, so forgive me if I'm a little clumsy with mentioning and such) The griffon smiles casually, his expression soon turning to comically sudden alarm. "Ah! Sorry, silly me, very clumsy," he rambles as he darts out of your way. His brown feathers and coat ruffle in a messy manner as he moves. As you notice, the movement appears to be extremely uncomfortable. He clears his throat as he rears up on his hind legs to lean up against the wall. You noticed a slight accent in his voice-- Saddle Arabian, maybe? It doesn't quite matter. As he leans back, Roac delves back into analyzing the situation. ~I've managed to waltz my way into the dancing portion of the Gala. A princess (one whom I don't know about) and Discord... At least, I think it's Discord.~ ~Lots of different aristocrats here... The princess doesn't look like she has much on her, but some of the others should be easy pickings... Although, she MIGHT have some information about the locations of some valuables... That being said, I'm like a kid in a candy store here...~
  12. Roac finally arrives at the Palace, where the Gala is being held. "Surprising how hard it was to get here", he mumbles to himself as he walks inside, handing his purchased ticket to the guard. The rental suit was a size too short, and he could barely even fit his blackjack into a concealed spot on his self. It was a last resort, and Roac hoped that this job would go smoothly enough that he wouldn't have to use it. Roac scans the crowd, analyzing and playing out various plans of action. He finally decides that he should try to make himself look less conspicuous by mingling, before trying to steal anything. Walking into the ballroom, he instantly spots a certain alicorn and draconequus. " Ask... and you shall recieve," he says with a smug grin as he saunters over casually to meet them. (And now for filler:) I am the very model of a modern Major-General, I've information vegetable, animal, and mineral, I know the kings of England, and I quote the fights historical, From Marathon to Waterloo, in order categorical; I'm very well acquainted too with matters mathematical, I understand equations, both the simple and quadratical, About binomial theorem I'm teeming with a lot o' news--- With many cheerful facts about the square of the hypotenuse. I'm very good at integral and differential calculus, I know the scientific names of beings animalculous; In short, in matters vegetable, animal, and mineral, I am the very model of a modern Major-General. I know our mythic history, King Arthur's and Sir Caradoc's, I answer hard acrostics, I've a pretty taste for paradox, I quote in elegiacs all the crimes of Heliogabalus, In conics I can floor peculiarities parablous. I can tell undoubted Raphaels from Gerard Dows and Zoffanies, I know the croaking chorus from the Frogs of Aristophanes, Then I can hum a fugue of which I've heard the music's din afore, And whistle all the airs from that infernal nonsense Pinafore. Then I can write a washing bill in Balylonic cuneiform, And tell you every detail of Caractacus's uniform; In short, in matters vegetable, animal, and mineral, I am the very model of a modern Major-General. In fact, when I know what is meant by "mamelon" and "ravelin", When I can tell at sight a chassepôt rifle from a javelin, When such affairs as sorties and surprises I'm more wary at, And when I know precisely what is meant by "commissariat", When I have learnt what progress has been made in modern gunnery, When I know more of tactics than a novice in a nunnery: In short, when I've a smattering of elemental strategy, You'll say a better Major-General has never sat a gee--- For my military knowledge, though I'm plucky and adventury, Has only been brought down to the beginning of the century; But still in matters vegetable, animal, and mineral, I am the very model of a modern Major-General. (A little excessive, I know, but you can never be too sure)
  13. Looking for roleplay for any of my OCs.

  14. [iGNORE THIS POST] Vaeltaja was shoved in along with the ponies. Being a spirit, she was native to this place-- or was she? She couldn't be sure, given the circumstances of her creation. She doesn't even remember how exactly she got her name; she just knows that her name is Vaeltaja. She is tempted to investigate one of the ponies to see if they had any information regarding their predicament (for she has found ponies to be quite knowledgeable on certain subjects), she saw that she was visible; something very unusual for her to be. "Hello?", she says to any ponyin range. Her voice is like a whisper, yet it is as easily heard as if she were right next to them.
  15. http://www.myinstants.com/media/sounds/grin.mp3 Thanks, Sugar. Anyways, I'll be hanging around the forum for awhile-- probably posting OCs and replying to random threads that interest me.
  16. Aww, that actually kinda sucks... Though, for those of you who have seen The Lord of the Rings, you might notice a *cough*obvious*cough* similarity between the defeat of Sombra in MLP and Sauron at the beginning of The Fellowship of the Ring (not to mention that they have similar names).
  17. I'm American, but the nick is from my very first OC, whom I made an entire race and Norse-ish culture for.
  18. Iron Hammer
  19. Woah, that was fast-- er, *ahem*. Thanks for all this welcome, guys! As for the art stuff, I think I might want to clarify a little better; I CAN draw, but it's typically not very good/very slowly made when I do anything other than nonliving objects. I can draw an epic-looking sword or something like that, but not much else. And, I'm currently playing around with the idea of using an RP to do a good fanfic off of. I'm great at starting off something with a good idea, but it typically crashes from there. Anyhoo, I hope that I'll be able to stay for awhile too. Now, time for me to furnish up my profile and get rid of that anon avatar. Bai~
  20. My Favourite Mane 6 Pony: Pinkie Pie How did you find MLP Forums?: I was looking into some stuff regarding the rare, endangered LOTR/MLP crossover, and I found a thread on this site. How you became a fan of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic: Simple, really-- The internet was raving about it, and so I thought to myself, "If so many people like this, there HAS to be a reason." And so, I watched an episode... and then another... and then a few more... and then some more....... I'm just an average brony, if there's such a thing. I try to do fanfictions (but never complete anything), I try to do fanart (badly), and I don't know the first thing about animation or music. I do, however, do a lot of roleplaying through e-mail. If anyone's interested, feel free to check my profile on here. Other than that, there's not much else to tell. I hope to have a lot of fun with y'all, and that MLP continues to run for a good long while.
  21. Hmm... my first thought with this is best expressed in a picture:
