Yes, but can you make a new backstory that doesn't reference humans and change him to a unicorn or pegasus in this RP? You can just write the new backstory in the ooc here.

It sounds like You're setting it up so that your character can be beaten and it might be interesting if it's done right, but I still don't think his backstory fits with the RP, especially the reference to humans. Do you think you can make a new backstory for him for this RP and change him to a unicorn or a pegasus?

I don't typically allow alicorns. And your profile says he has unlimited power. can you explain how he wont actually be OP? I have to be cautious about this. Also, it would be better if you can play him as a unicorn or pegasus.

It might take some time for me to decide on a character as well, though. And while I'm at it, as a question... Do I need to specify what sort of weapons/abilities my character will use, as well as their motivations for participating in the tournament and the such?

You do have to disclose your powers and weapons to me, so I can make sure they're okay for the RP. People have always disclosed it in the OOC topic before. However, if you want to keep it a secret, you can just PM it to me to make it a surprise to the other players.

The Dark Tournament. Once legal in Equestria, this tournament was banned nearly a decade ago for its brutal nature and reputation for attracting gamblers from the criminal underworld, but now, thanks to an influx of wealthy criminal investors, the tournament has been brought back on a remote island outside of Equestria's jurisdiction. This brutal game pins thirty-two of the lands deadliest fighters to fight to the death for entertainment and gambling, all for the purpose of becoming the grand champion and getting one wish granted by the corrupt tournament committee.

Okay, I just checked my watch and it's been about two and a half years since I've roleplayed on this site, so I'm guessing no one around here remembers me or the dark tournament anymore. 

Basically, I hosted three RP's a couple years ago with varying success that were about a roster of sixteen characters fighting in a tournament in the Everfree forest. Each participant in the RP was one of the contestants, and winners were decided either by ooc discussion or coin toss if that didn't work. I'm looking to do one of those again, but since it's been a quarter of a decade since I've hosted one, I figured it would be better to just restart the whole series with new players (hopefully.)

The rules to the tournament were really simple. Two characters entered a raised concrete fighting ring and could use whatever weapons or techniques they wanted to defeat their opponent. Victory comes when an opponent forfeits, is down or out of the ring for a ten count, or dies (Which doesn't happen very often.) There was a story to the whole thing too of course. You had a corrupt tournament committee that might be working for or against you, and the winner of the tournament could get one wish for anything money or magic could create.

I'm putting this post up to search for players who might be interested and answer any questions you might have. It's been a while, but I have experience hosting RPs and I know I can make this fun.

          I enjoyed your review, however, certain areas felt desperate and awkward to me. It's 9:58 and 11:06, which I liked how you used a different show convey how mundane and emotionless she was acting, I just don't quite understand the purpose of acting like she is an alien, that put me off. You might find it better to put the epilepsy warning at the beginning of the video with a black background instead of in lower right corner on that mostly white background were it blends in. Keep up the good work boss.

Thanks for the critique. I really agree with the epilepsy warning thing, that's something I kind of need to get right. I also should have set up beforehand that I thought she sounded like an alien that didn't understand human emotion before making the joke, it would have been less confusing.

It's a good review, well, it's certainly better than I could do!! However, it is a little awkward at times 

Could you tell me what times seemed the most awkward? I'm assuming the intro was the worst part.

Honestly, this is good it reminds me of if jontron did movie reviews.  It has that almost awkward comedy he is known for. In fact i would say if you keep this kind of stuff up you are sure to make a name for yourself. I love zoom in things you did, that reminds me of idubbs for some reason. The only real flaw was it ran a bit long for my taste. Then again I have some ADD stuff so who knows.

It's funny that you mention Idubbs, because I do parody arts and crafts videos that my friends say are too similar to his style. As for the length, I think the best thing I can do is avoid going so deep into the movie's back story before I start the actual review. That'd shave off a lot of time.

Hey guys! It's been a long, long time since I've posted on these forums because I've been busy with other aspects of life, but it seems I need some help. I've been wanting to make youtube movie reviews for years now (Most of my favorite youtube channels review movies) but never had the confidence to actually do it until now. This is strictly non pony related, at least right now, but I really need some constructive feedback from anyone who has the time. I want to know what I can improve on because this is my first attempt at something like this and it felt very awkward to do.

Jade slept soundly that night, collapsing almost immediately as soon as she laid down. The fight with Mni had really taken it out of her, and she needed the rest. She did remember thinking how generous Tricis was to lend her her couch, and that she'd work extra hard to show her gratitude.

 

She was practically bucked out of her sleep by an almost ear-piercing whistle, and it took her just seconds to stand to attention in front of her new teacher.

"Good morning, Master." She said, looking focused and ready. She was used to getting such wake-up calls from Master Xiang as a filly.

"Good morning to you, Jade. I wanted to wake you up thirty minutes earlier than usual so we can get to know each other on our first day." She explained, then she gestured to the kitchen area of the room. "I've got some tea for you already. I'm sure you're groggy at this hour."

Jade slept that night on Tricis couch in the living room of her cottage. There had been no training that day, of course, giving her time to recover. The living room also served as the kitchen and dining room, and the cottage only had two other rooms: a bathroom, and Tricis' bedroom, which Jade was not permitted to go into.

After a sound night of sleep for the old made, Tricis woke up at the crack of 3:30 in the morning, a time she had trained her body to always wake up at for her morning run, but this day, she had a different exercise in mind. She walked into the main room of the cottage, placed a hoof up to her lips, and whistled loudly up close to Jade's ears.

Jade kept her eyes closed and said nothing as Mni's demonic appearance withered away beneath her. It was a difficult decision, given her displeasure for killing, but it had to be done.

 

Hearing Feather and Tricis speaking, she opened her eyes and felt a pang in her chest as she saw the smaller stallion curled up beneath her. He must have been possessed all this time.

 

Slowly, she removed her blade from his neck, and placed a hoof gently on his shoulder.

"I'm sorry this happened to you... I hope you can find peace now, wherever your spirit lays."

Feather stepped forward, but faced Tricis instead of Jade. "Mater Tricis..." he addressed, "I wish to forfeit and give victory to Jade." He said somewhat hesitantly. Tricis didn't respond verbally, she just looked at him with a stern, quizzical expression.

"You, um... You never said we couldn't." Feather added.

"Why would you work so hard to quit now?" Tricis asked accusingly.

"The way I see it, it would be wrong of me to continue." Feather explained. "After that fight, Jade expended everything she had to defeat an opponent I never would have been able to beat." He said, frequently shifting his focus between Jade and Tricis. "If I fight her like she is right now after expending all of that energy, I'll defeat her even though she deserves your training more than I. Conversely, if I wait for her to recover fully, She'll simply beat me with little effort." He gave off a shrug with closed eyes and a smirk. "So you see, this whole endeavor would be rather pointless."
