  1. @Props Valroa (Spectra) It went well at first. She had just led this mare over to where the cart renter were, and she had in turn summoned some coins to pay for it. Spurs weren't sure of the value there, but the owner seemed happy enough, so that were fancy. And then, she had kept following, just trying to be helpful, and give a hoof with what this mare were about to do. And then, before she could act upon it, she were suddenly bound and gagged, tossed into the back of this carriage, where nopony could see her, and her muffled pleas were all but impossible to hear. And it didn't sound as if there were any sort of mercy that would be found, as this crazy mare suddenly started to talk about wanting her body? What was she, a cannibal? She had to get out of here! Spectra's bonds better hold the entirety of the time here, and the trip, because the mare would not stop trying to fight, even if it seemed meaningless and hopeless. Trying to move her limbs to get sound going, or wriggle out of the back, where others could see her, chewing down on the gag and attempting to move it around so a scream for help could escape- Anything possible. She were not just going to take this sitting down. After a little while, Operata would come, with a small satchel of supplies for the journey. Some food and water, along with a first aid kit. The latter of what were there to provide some degree of believability, that they were simply there to get something, so they could move along, and get away from everything, and he did not look pleased at all. His face marred in a way that made it clear that despite his usual attitude towards things, and the true, horrid stories told of him, there were nothing in this that gave him joy. He would speak low to her, despite there not being any near them, just in case. "You wanted to not cause a scene, but how will it look like when the missing posters comes up? When you're spotted looking like that, and they start asking questions? Will you just jump again? How long before that starts catching up to you? I came to find a corpse, Spectra. I did not sign up for this." He questioned her morals much and often. And the lives she had taken at the mountain, were utterly horrendous. But this were almost worse, in a way. This were letting the mare suffer, knowing that she were going to die. It would frankly be more humane to flat out kill her on the spot, rather than doing this. He were not a moral pony. He had done unspeakable things, but certain lines you did not pass. And Spectra were starting to pass so many lines that it were making him question his ability to keep doing as he were told. Especially if he'd have to look into the eyes of one whose body he had been part in stealing from them. Perhaps the guilt of it all, were finally starting to catch up to him. ============================================================================== (Stern) "Princess Twilight have been the catalyst for a lot of the things you've heard. Curing Nightmare Moon, fighting and rehabilitating Discord, etc. But yes, tit is a lot to take in. Even for those of us who weren't frozen, things change so rapidly sometimes these last few years, that it can be hard to keep track of everything. Yet we endure, we adapt, and we accept. The way that Equestria is meant to do things. Even if it is slow for some. You'd be surprised some of the things Benny had to listen to at times for instance, even now. Not to speak of when his marefriend is there. Some sadly don't change as fast as they should. But I like to hope that they will catch up in time, and accept things. I'm sure it will be trying for you at times, yet I'm sure you can handle, and adapt as well, Stern. Even if it might seem a bit much at first. The princess didn't rehabilitate the other three draconequui though. I should perhaps explain that in advance. I don't know the longer backstory, but Fright apparently had a pony centuries ago, help her to overcome her base instincts, and rehabilitate, and she's then eventually gone and helped others of her kin. She has a pocket dimension somewhere, with a few entry points I know of, for those wanting to go and meditate at her monastery. Not seen her myself, but I'm told she's patient and friendly. Less so with the others, but at least they are contributing, rather than cause trouble. That's good. I'll try and explain more later if you want to know, but I'm thinking with how big an issue this might be, they could end up being called on to help. So I just... Want to prepare you, I suppose. And about preparing, uhm... Well, I think you've miscalculated something. See, you don't want your family to know, and I'm sure the captain have said nopony should say a thing, but... You're a notable name, Stern. Even if they're busy now, the guards will speak, some will overhear, or they tell family, and then sooner or later, word will come to them. It's your decision, of course, but... I guess I'd think it best if they heard it from you, rather than some rumor that'd perhaps hurt them? J-Just a thought anyway. I'm sorry if I'm intruding on a private matter too much." Foxglove wasn't someone who were big on shouting or being a notable, commanding presence. Sure she had her moments when a medical emergency came forth, but she were generally more of a kind, mild mannered mare, who preferred not to partake in conflict of that sort, if it could be helped. Made it odd for those few who knew that Head Physician Needle looked at her as his most likely successor, when he'd soon retire. He paid them no heed though. He had seen Foxglove work, and know that while she would never be a captain or general, that wasn't her role either. She had ever, and would ever, be the sort who'd want to mend wounds, not cause them. And he believed that when his time were done, she had what it took to be the one to lead the medical teams. Not that she had any idea that it were on his mind. Far as she knew, he still had an easy twenty years or so to work with, before he would want retirement. ============================================================================= (Magloria) "The Inquisition is the truth of the wicked, needing removal from our country, lest it never heals. Since the dark princess fell, her minions wander ever around, searching for ways to return the darkest night. Heresy of such order that griffon and equine alike, unite hoof and talon, to smite the wicked. Never did I gaze upon the false idol, my sight taken long before, by a wicked deed. Yet as with all, I fight to halt the night, that the Holy Flame might emerge and gaze upon a country clear of heresy, and those wanting naught but take those thine heart stands close with, and watch them perish. The Inquisition swore to me, that such acts would be punished, and thus did I ever give myself to the cause, fully and wholly. High Priestess Goldenhawk herself, even blessed me, to wander and smite in her name. Had any I knew yet drawn breath, their pride would have surely been great." Like many others that had been roped into The Inquisition, it were not just hatred of others, that sparked it. It were also fear, and loss. Loss especially, were what had driven Ghelzar, lost as he had felt himself being, after years prior, he had been made to watch everyone he knew die in front of him, then tore his sight from him, ensuring that their faces would be the last thing he ever gazed upon. He had tried to find himself in meditation, and refining his skills, so that he wouldn't feel so hopeless again, but the fear, anger, and pain burned in him, and The Inquisition offered him meaning. A way to halt others from doing the same, by granting him permission and a cause, to smite evil down. It were not hard to sell him on this idea, and the high priestess especially, had been enamored by the ferocity or both his conviction, and prowess. Her blessing were not something you got with any ease, but he had rightly earned it, and much else. "Heed my words though, mare. Is this but a ruse, the pyre shall burn long and fiercely this day. If not, and your truth holds, I lay not low my talons, but rise them to find the witch's throat. Long as she wanders, The Inquisition have not halted for me." He had no intentions of laying down arms, and living a life of peace, if he were made to believe this were reality, and not an illusion, or a bunch of lies. The witch who took him, would still be out there. A heretic of his time, that needed to be brought low. What came after, he knew not. "I would use other words, for the brutal slaughtering that took place, but I doubt my words will hold merit. Hers likely will though. I also warn you, Ghelzar: Princess Luna have returned, freed of her darkness. If you attempt to lay a talon on her, I will break your neck myself." "...I hold no reason to strike at her, if you speak truth. I knew of the true shimmer among stars, before this. Were she to return, their deity would be all but gone, and the heretics have nothing left. We would win, and night and day would once again stand as one." He were trying to prevent others from bringing back Nightmare Moon, not Princess Luna. The latter were a misguided mare, who had a sickness grow within her. If she were there, and this evil purged, then there were no wickedness for him to seek out. They would soon get to the door leading into the throne room, thankfully not having met any who came to talk, or bat ponies as they went there. With a deep breath, he would braze himself, and then knock the door. Hailstorm had some inkling of what might happen here, and needed to ready himself. "Come forth." He would open the door, and lead the way in. There, upon her usual pillow, sat Princess Celestia, with a slice of cake floating in front of her. Seemed it were time for a break for her, or the stress of what were going on, made her need a pause. Luna sat in her own seat, sipping from a cup of tea instead. She were not feeling particularly peckish currently. "Captain Hailstorm. To which are we owed the honor?" "Your majesties, I am sorry for the intrusion, but I am assuming you are both aware of the situation at hoof?" They would both nod, whilst Ghelzar took a step further, then halted, feeling out the room around him, and listening carefully to the voices. "It seems her schemes reached far and wide through time. And it happens that the one we just freed, needs to be brought before you. I present you, High Inquisitor Ghelzar." Celestia's face would suddenly grow stiff, and both the fork with the cake, and the plate would fall down, and hit the floor. Luna were unaware of what this meant. A bit of history that she had been spared, but Celestia knew this, and before anyone could utter a word, she would have risen, the door slamming behind them, and her horn aflame with magical fire. Her mane roared, and her face were that of anger, yet Ghelzar did not back down. No, he basked in her light, feeling the radiant glow, as he were jerked up in her grasp, and brought up into a nice angle where hitting him, would not impact others. "This Creature persists, when so many others died?! Any last words, before you join your brethren in Tartarus?" An opposing force would grab hold of Ghelzar, as Luna would intervene, getting him away, as she looked shocked at her sister. She hadn't seen her this angry and furious in years, even before Nightmare Moon. "Sister! What have gotten into you?" "You know not what he has done! What all of them did! They... So many burned, because of them. I-Innocent ponies that... The a-ashes..." Celestia's fire would evaporate, and she'd lean in, crying upon her sisters shoulder, as dark, disturbing memories returned to her. "The Holy Flame... Radiant and true." Ghelzar would rise from the floor, shaken somewhat in his base, at knowing that this were real, and that the two had told him the truth. Yet now it sounded as if something were amiss. Something related to him, and his order. Had something happened, when he had been taken? Had they been led astray, and turned to wickedness themselves? He would ask, but it were not for him to speak with her now, he guessed. He would respond when she would ask him of something. Hailstorm meanwhile, shook his head, as Princess Luna looked confused at him, while she were trying to comfort Celestia. This were a really weird day for her, and Hailstorm had few answers, that she'd like. Nor knew how to even start. Quite frankly, he were just amazed that Ghelzar were not a pile of ash on the floor. He had assumed it might end that way.
  2. @Illiad Easle Forgot that she isn't exactly alone. She still have her new pet with her.
  3. @Illiad Easle (Changelings) "Understood. Come on Craven, we got work to do." Craven followed, after giving a bow before Grey Mare, but said no words. It didn't seem like he were required to, so it were simpler and maybe better, to just let Yannit speak for them both, and follow her as she left. They needed to get back to the tower, and see how things were going with Null and her negotiations. Hopefully well, but it were hard to say with Ninja. It were not the sort of stallion you'd hang out with normally, nor wanted to ask questions about, in case he learned about it, and came around to beat the curious out of your face. Still, he hoped it went well, for the sake of them all. He'd follow Yannit as she headed back towards the tower, changing into costume - which he'd follow suit and do too, before they got into sight of others - then prepare the poker chip, so they could enter the tower. As the message they were seen as being alive? Interesting that there could come group wide messages out like that, but she hoped they had not send it to Mongoose. He'd probably get fidgety and do something foolish if he thought they had died. ================================================================================ (Null+Mongoose) "No, it is not." Her eyes shot lightning as she gazed on Mongoose sauntering in with Arcade, and focusing them as she were, they should be able to see her. A sight which did not make Mongoose happy. Well, he were for a brief moment, until he saw the look on her face, as she wandered straight over to them. "What in Tartarus are you two doing here? Where's Ardee?" "S-She's back at the hotel. We j-just-" "Speak up, or get beat up." Mongoose gulped, knowing from her tone and look in her eyes, that she meant it. "I-I got a message that you all might be d-dead. Arcade wanted to go and I... I-I thought maybe it w-were best to follow him, since the hotel is safer?" Null gritted her teeth, and closed her eyes. She really wanted to kick him in the face, but... No, this were not his fault, was it? He had been asked to guard them, and were forced to make a choice. Which should have been to guard Ardee, but since he didn't know Arcade were immortal, his choice annoyingly made sense. She really wanted to be angry at him, but this weren't so much on him as it could've been. She'd just nod eventually, and open her eyes, to look at Arcade. Provided that he hadn't already gone and grabbed hold of her the second he saw her, which would cause her to speak at Mongoose over his shoulder, with a hoof around him. Either way, she'd get to speak to him after, when she knew what the status were of things. "Hey, you don't gotta worry. We were just in a dead zone. I'm fine. The others are with Grey Mare, but this lead's a dead end. We have to get back to the hotel and figure out what to do now." It felt nice having someone care about her enough to rush to her like this, though she really thought it would be best to have such worries about Ardee. Who could say how things were now that she were solo? Maybe she'd try to leave, and get grabbed somewhere? They had to get back and make sure, and fast. Basher were still out there, planning something nefarious. =================================================================== (Hotel) At the hotel, there would come three guards and check the rooms out. They could tell that something were not right here, witht he two adjoining rooms opened and then also a path leading away from here, indicating that maybe something had happened with those who were here. Perhaps the mare and her friends had been led to safety by the one who called on them? Perhaps they had all been taken? They had to find out, and soon. One of the security team would try and follow the trail to where Ardee had gone, but would likely lose her all too soon. The other two would split and look in each their room. No one were here, so no need to not split up. The mare who had worked security from before the current administration, would take the room the kitsune had been in. An odd one, she had been told, and truth to that, the room looked a mess. Looked like there had been a scuffle, though oddly enough, she could swear that she only found prints from him, and no one else. Might meant the one he were fighting with, were good at covering their tracks. Wasn't much else not hotel related to look at. Just a small box with some leaves and a note in it, that didn't have anything written on it. In the adjoining room, things looked a lot cleaner, though the new addition to the guard - a changeling that Bruce had been helpful in training - would wander over and have a look at the jar of paint, or whatever it were? It smelled kinda funny. He'd wander around, trying to see if it had been used in some fashion, but didn't see much. He'd even go straight to the wall, and see if maybe there were some trace here, so he'd place a hoof on the wall. The glow in his eyes would flicker briefly, and a few seconds later the other guard could enter the room. "The other room is a mess. Clear signs of a struggle. Anything to look at here, Glue?" The changeling would shake his head, and turn around, holding the jar of odd paint. "No, just this. I dunno what it is though. Can't say I like that there's no one here. You think they were taken?" "That's up to Marble to find out. I'd say the chances are there though. And here I thought the gangs in town were finally ringed in again." ================================================================== (Ardee) Ardee weren't entirely alone with her mysterious new friend. The paper fox were there with her, having stuck to her back as they went along, and now standing on her head, looking around at the new place they were. Its tail swaying from side to side, and a small snickering sound escaping it. It understood it might be dangerous out here for them, when they were in a safe space before, but this were exciting. They were on the hunt, chasing through this huge city it had been created in, and out seeing the world. Or this little sliver of it anyway. It were equal parts thrilled and curious. As it did not need to sleep, it could keep watch for her, and probably annoy an attacker if they tried to mess with her in her sleep. It weren't exactly dangerous. More mischievous, and with the kitsune's knack for being an annoyance put into its base. A little prank present from her creator. ===================================================================================== (School) Cherish liked hearing what the others said. Nice and informative, about other races and how they dealt with growing up. She hadn't really thought of that a lot of times otherwise, before everything happened. She were surrounded by ponies, and they had their simple ways of growing up, with cutie marks. That were most of what she were exposed to. A whole new, fractured world out here now though, with things to learn about others. She did wonder what it were for dragons, but that hadn't been a dragon. She supposed in parts because Miss Gypsum knew that she would have picked that one, as she were very focused on learning more about dragons, for the sake of her friend Crow. After a bit though, it were her time to go up, and present a small tidbit on what she had learned. Felt the old butterflies rummaging around her stomach again, hehe. "I learned that Camels don't get marks on their bodies, but wake up to find it in the sand under them. Then they have to sit in a tent until it's there again, and an can come and talk to them about it. After that, they have to put their own meaning to it, before they let scatter to the sands. There's a lot of interpretation and symbolism with the way their marks works, that sounds kinda complicated.." Complicated, but also kinda cool. She were honestly curious about this, and would peg that down as something more to look up in the library eventually. It were nice learning new things. And as a bonus, it kept the bad thoughts away.
  4. @EQ_Theta "It sounds complicated. It must be hard to be normal sometimes." It sounded like Sen didn't even know how to explain pain probably, so what hope had she of understanding it? She understood as far as this being different from physical pain, like if you had been stabbed, but beyond that she couldn't understand. Especially when talking about this mind scape, because she understood so very, very little of it. It were just a place to her. Not something that she related to pain, as much as just some thing that shouldn't be here, they were trying to get out. But then, she knew that she did not see things as normal creatures did. She were flawed, and chaotic. To her master, that were a compliment. To her, she were uncertain of it. When the world were filled with chaos, she fit in, as everything were abnormal, and many other creatures were too. Now though, in this stable, mostly orderly world, she were an outsider, trying to blend in when her very being were opposite of everything it stood for. Not just a child, but a child alien to it's surroundings, with no one that could relate to how and why it struggled. Were she able to understand frustration, it might have led her down a dark path, being in the situation that she were, but small blessing there, in her being unable to grasp such a thing. And when one day she might, it probably wouldn't matter, as at that point, she would likely have figured out how to be whole, in this world. As for what happened right now? She had no idea how to probably approach it. Maybe after she'd have some time to think over things, she would be able to. Right now though, it simply seemed so beyond her, with everything going on. She were best served simply focusing on being there for their sister, and then see where things would go. "I have experienced that. That is what Mother tells us to use the gates for. To protect our masters, and stand between them, and danger. I could get hit too I think? Maybe that would teach me something." She were still processing things here. Apparently, Lin had known about this deep, dark secret already, and the break from her end, came more from a mater of trust? She had no better idea anyway, though it sounded like some miscommunication to her. Now that they both knew, it should not be hard to move past that, no? Not for her anyway, but she assumed it were different with them. Maybe because they were not supposed to keep secrets from one another? That sounded like something she had heard siblings say before. That would fit with this in some ways. "It is good that you both know what each other knows now, yes? About that day? Does it mean that you are going to be okay, and that Lin is healed?"
  5. @Illiad Easle @Evil Pink One @Props Valroa I missed folks had written here. My bad. O.o Might be worth it when time comes, yes. We can start it off with a link to this old one if they require backstory as an example, if that is the way we end up going eventually. It is still related to The Æther, is my counterargument. I would think they would have a vested interest in their location too, considering their connection to nature, and thus, help when it comes to not just grow crops as they have done in the years aboard the vessel, but the seed are able to make a large area to flourish with life. Place it in the right place, and it would allow a good base for natural resources, for them, or one of the factions left upon the surface. The Evergrown do wish to continue to work together with them, to make things better too, long as there is an understanding of balance. So no hunting and killing their kin without punishment, and understanding not to over-harvest from the natural resources they can provide. Which is a balance I can imagine have somewhat already been learned of over the years, with Briar being there to provide what essence and knowledge he could impart. It does depend on the status of the surface I suppose, though only you would know that exactly, but I can work with things as they come. Who'd done what? The butler I would imagine? Isn't that always the case? Will do. Have a good time until then with other threads.
  6. I swear, I look away from you ponies for a few weeks, and you're trying to steal the moon. I'm gonna need to install some sorta alarm around here I recon.
  7. @Cheerilee Good job making Magloria so evil, that my character is being saddled with guilt, and questioning his own moral. That were not how I thought things would go, but there we have it. xD And sorry for the long delay. Needed to help with my father's birthday, so that took some time away from the PC. Should be back and on a schedule now.
  8. @Props Valroa (Spectra) "I know where you can get hold of one of those. Fastest way's down theoutskirts, then going right for a bit. I'll lead the way for ya, and we can discuss what else you need some help for." "I will go and procure some provisions in the meantime. If you will excuse me." She might not like that he were leaving, but he knew what Spectra were planning on doing, and he couldn't be there for that. Wouldn't. Much as his morals were flexible, he couldn't in good consciousness just stand and watch her take an innocent, helpful mare, and kidnap her to be her new vessel. She could do this alone, if she so wished this mare. He had signed up for them to go and procure a corpse, or a coma patient. Somepony who were either dead, or might as well be. This were not something he could stomach, and if he stuck around, he worried that he would not be able to halt himself from interjecting, and seeing if he could make the mare get a chance at escape. So he would stay away, and let her do her grizzly business by her own hooves. Not as if Spectra had never done so in the past. He hoped that someday, when she were freed, his wife would be able to forgive him for this, though he were having a hard time believing that anypony could... Meanwhile, Spurs would just shrug her shoulders, and lead Spectra to the edge of town, where they could then roam over to the right and pass some houses to get to where they had to, for carts and such. Hopefully there'd still be some left. Seemed like her companion were in an awful hurry. As for the edge, there were a few dead zones, where one could take advantage, without being seen. Provided she made sure to do so when nopony were looking. Had to make sure Spurs didn't scream out though. Impossible not to hear something from the nearby town, if somepony started yelling out like that. "Seems your friend's in an awful hurry. You got folks waiting to hear from ya at home?" Might as well try and be civilized here, yeah? a bit of banter, like she'd been taught. ========================================================== (Stern) "Well, plenty happened, but I can go over the big things." She'd lead them towards some benches where they could sit and talk. It were not secluded and private, but it were not near the scorching forge, and most on duty were too busy to even be here at base, much less out frolicking like this. Ideally she shouldn't be either, as she were part of the medical staff, but she had her orders, and would follow them. "So, let's see, big things. For a start, Discord's free, and are now being rehabilitated by a group of ponies in Ponyville, lead by Princess Twilight. One of two new official alicorns we've gotten in Equestria, besides the return of Princess Luna, of course. The other being Twilight's niece, a born unicorn. And Princess Cadence? I am not certain if you know of her. She's rather young now that I think about it, so likely after your time. She's currently married and ruling the Crystal Kingdom, after King Sombra returned and got defeated, and lives with as said her alicorn daughter, and Princess Twilight's brother, Shining Armor. one of the captains of the Solar Guard. Though Captain Hailstorm are taking more and more of his duties, as he's transitioning to fully focusing on his new home, and his family. Princess Twilight is the Princess of Friendship, whereas Princess Cadence, is the Princess of Love. Her daughter does not currently have a title, far as I am aware. Let's see, what else... The changelings invaded Canterlot, got beaten, and eventually the hive responsible - Hive Chrysalis - were beaten again, and her changelings defected. They are under new leadership, and have changed form. I haven't seen them myself so far though, but I hear they are very colorful. Changelings are also now accepted citizens of Equestria, along with dragons, griffons, kirin, etc. Princess Twilight have been busy mending old bridges, and making new contact, so Equestria have more allies and races we work together with. Including the new Dragon Lord, Ember. The Pillars of Old Equestria, including Star Swirl the Bearded have also returned from limbo, freed by Princess Twilight. We had a few attempts of Tirek to escape and take over Equestria, but that have thankfully not gotten too far, as Princess Twilight and her friends using the Elements of Harmony, have handled him, and several other threats. Oh, and on the subject of Discord actually, I dunno if you were aware of other draconequui and their relations with Equestria, as not everyone really cared to learn of them, but if you have not heard of or met Avarice, Glutton, or Fright, let me know. You might need to be aware of them, if things become dire here, due to their immense power, perhaps being helpful in our struggles. If they can be convinced to lend aid. Which I can imagine is not hard with Fright, but the others are less keen on getting involved in large things, lest it becomes worth their while." She'd mention other major things too, but let it be said that there would be a lot. It had been some busy years, since Princess Twilight and her friends had started to stir the pot, so to speak. Plenty of things to talk about. ====================================================================== (Canterlot) "You speak brazen. I shall comply for now, though your guards are unknown to me. I am High Inquisitor Ghelzar. My reputation reached your station?" "I know who you are." At least now he did, and frankly, he were starting to already regret letting this one out. The inquisition didn't have many notable creatures that were named, outside of the top leadership, but the lone inquisitor, who legends had struck down wickedness across the land, were one of the few notable exceptions. And here he thought that the line "Blind to the deception of wickedness* were just written flair, by the author who had written about his exploits. Not that he could recall them all right now, but he remembered a few things about the leader and only member of the Fifth Holy Armada. This one were likely to be a problem. "What is this, more tricks of the vile heathen? Does she rule of this Canterlot, which you speak of? Bring her forth then, and let me show you what is just." "Canterlot is the capitol of Equestria. It were build by the wish of Princess Celestia herself, when she emerged from her chambers, and ended the inquisition. You have been trapped for near a thousand years. If you do not believe me, then I will bring you to hear the words of the princess herself. Surely you would remember her voice, would you not?" "Hmm, long have it been since the Holy Flame left her chambers, and your notion is that of the ludicrous. The heathen may have bested me, but held me for so long? I do not believe the witch capable. But if you so strongly hold belief in your words, then will you risk your life for the truth? Bring me to the princess truly, and I will trust her words of the matter. Bring me to a fake, or attempt to lead me to death, and you will be set upon a lone pyre. Lest you have no conviction in your words?" "In my capacity of captain, I seldom swear to bring you to her, and if all is false, I shall wander upon the pyre and tie myself." The griffon would be silent, but would nod after a few seconds, eyes closed. "Conviction leaves not your voice. I shall grant you a chance, so lead the way. But beware. If your words are true, the witch may be near. Hesitate not, if her head becomes ripe for the taking." Hailstorm already despised this one, and found him tedious... A proper pain in the flank to rehabilitate, if the princess did not outright scorch him off the face of the earth. The Inquisition were a dark chapter, that she'd prefer buried and forgotten, in all but history books. A living relic such as this, might make her prone to want to ensure it remained so, lest he would attempt to reignite the dreaded practices of old. He would let it be up to her. "Prepare the next orb, but do not open it yet. We will return." Magloria could follow if she wished. Perhaps it would be good for her to see the princess too. And Captain Hailstorm might need some help restraining this one, if he became an issue. He might not have his gear, as that were long taken by Spectra, but he were still formidable, and far more than his warning strike from before would show. As for the proof of the orbs around them? He could not see them, but acknowledged that something were strange in their midst. This were among the few reasons why he would let this captain, and the mare who spoke so brazenly to him, get a chance to prove their words were true. And if they were... He had no family or friends left, before he joined the Inquisition. All had been taken from him, along with his sight. He had nothing lost to miss, beyond the punishment of the wicked. A new age, meant simply new beings to bring justice to, though he would need to find out certain things. Like who were the current nesting ruler of the griffon in Equestria. He would wish to see what this age had of leadership, if Queen Gilda were naught but a distant memory now.
  9. @Illiad Easle Her PoV seems like a fun idea to go by, let's see where it goes. As for the kitsune, he won't follow. He's not allowed to, and have done his part for the time being. Though you can have The Grey get to him or something, if you so desire. If not, he'll fade into the background, for now.
  10. @Illiad Easle (Changelings) "I assure you that I do not intend on dying so easily. I have debt to pay off, before I can face the inevitable." She'd accept the wear, yet noticed that it did not have a hole to watch through. A bit of work to go with this it seemed. Very well. She'd use her magic to cut a suitable hole in it to look through, though if she were corrected or it did not work, as she were expected to use the knife, she'd correct course and just use the magic to hold the blindfold, as she cut a new hole to see through. Either way, she would get this one perforated and ready, then put it on once done. They still had work to do, and she couldn't simply sit about and dally while she were on the clock. "Anything else you would want from us, Grey Mare?" ================================================================================ (Null) "Seems reasonable. I'd probably do the same if I were in your position." Being noble and fighting for a cause was all fine and cute, but in the end, you had to make sure that if you laid down your life, it were for someone, or something, that you believed were worth dying for. For her it were her family, but beyond that? She'd make the effort, but push come to shove, she'd be hightailing it out of there to fight another day. So she understood the position that Nine were in, regarding this whole thing. Though ideally, none of them were gonna die anytime soon. Here came the dealing phase then... She'd admit, as she were waiting for Briar to mull this over in apparent silence - she assumed he were evaluating things along with Mongoose - it did feel a little tense, and her heart rate did go up a little. What would he say to this whole thing? It were a good deal. Probably the best he'd get, but if he were too proud, then what might come of it? Would he decline out of spite? Out of principle? Wouldn't he return, unless Grey Mare herself would grovel before his hooves? Thankfully it seemed the answer to that were just that she were paranoid. He agreed, and by the sound of it, Mongoose were thrilled. "Good that we have that sorted then. I thought he'd be here, with the gathering before... Hmm, might've been a distraction event then. Makes me wonder if he has some other target in mind, and we've just all been roped along to this place. If you'd please go look for him, that'd be good, yeah. We need to figure out his next move, and intercept him before that. If you see a chance to grab him that's too good to pass, remember to try and get him in alive, alright? Grey Mare were specific on that. She wants him and his goons in the ranks, and that'll just get harder to do if he's dead." In case Nine wondered why she asked nicely, it were because with The Grey now or not, Briar were dangerous, and she didn't think it wise to try and just give him a flat out order. =================================================================== (Plaza) (Sorry, forgot) Mongoose hadn't a lot to do prior to this. Arcade did well in snatching up a token, while he grabbed one that someone else almost got. A close call between them, and the pony looked sad that they hadn't gotten it, but he promised them that he were just there to look for some friends, and afterwards, she could have his token. Wouldn't be long. And he intended to keep his word. Parties and such weren't something he much cared for, and he were just here to look. The pony didn't seem convinced, but would wait around for now, while he staggered to keep up with Arcade. The stallion might be small, but he were fast when he were driven. He should be able to get upstairs not too long after Arcade would, and then look around after his friends, and Vengeance Pointer. The latter would probably not be happy they were here, but uhm.... A-Actually, he'd just let Arcade deal with that probably. She'd be more lenient with him. ================================================================================ (Hotel) Not too far from where she landed, on an opposite roof, the kitsune would look down upon her, and the one leading her away. "I don't like this... Y-Yes, I know what you say, but what if- N-No, I'm not arguing. It just feels wrong. I could h-help. ...N-No, I understand. It isn't... T-That isn't for me to stop. Are you sure I shouldn't..." He'd close his eyes, seeming like he were in pain for a moment. "Sorry, sorry. I just... I still don't u-understand why you want me to know all t-these things, but not try and make things better. It- No, I heard you b-before, but it still doesn't seem right. ...Least we agree on that, I guess." He wouldn't like it, but he'd simply look, as Ardee took off on her own path. How he wished he could interject, but that... It wasn't his role. Maybe someday he'd be able to accept that, but not now. Now he just felt miserable, with a sinking feeling in his chest, as he sent a last glance towards the escaping mare. Hopefully she'd be able to weather the coming storm. (Yes, go for her POV if you'd like) ================================================================== (School) Cherish were highly curious as she read on what the camel's traditions around this were. It seemed so magical in nature, which well, it were obviously, but she meant more like a fantasy tale. Resting in the sand, with the mark forming below you, sounded so cool. She liked the way it were for ponies, as it wasn't like they slept in sand often, yet it made sense for camels. More subtle, but still fascinating and mystical. She'd read it over three times, and start making notes from the second time. It made her mind rummage, and this seemed like the sort of thing where they had to make a presentation, or at least hoof over a written thing, and that had to be her own words, not just her copying letter for letter what she had just read. When everything were said and done, and it were time to present, she'd be ready at her table, with a few pages written of notes and her general own words on this. "Yes Miss Gypsum." She'd get to her seat, and look spry and excited. It had been so long since she had to do a presentation like this, and- No, not thinking about that right now. Had to focus on this, and not think back. Nothing good came for that, and she wouldn't do well, if she suddenly broke down crying. Which she thankfully hadn't done in school so far, but she had felt it being close a few times by now. Best to try and not risk things, much as her mind might try and voluntarily go back there sometimes. That sorta thing were best kept to when she were at home, and her mom could help her through things. Or with Crow, though the dragon didn't know what to say or do there. So she tended to just hold Cherish, and let her cry and babble. Her silent, strong embrace really helped at times, as she needed to just let it out. It were nice having a non-judgmental friend like her.
  11. @Catpone Cerberus I forgot one thing actually: If you wanna keep going with Solar, I do actually have an odd character who would do well as a secretary, for the sort of group that Solar is trying to get running. Not someone brand new, just a char I've used sparingly, as she didn't have much of a place. But she's an odd one, who is good at the nitty gritty paperwork side of many things. All you'd need to do, were to go to Manehatten, and I could have them encounter one another.
  12. @Catpone Cerberus They have hung out already. She sees them as close friends, and will not leave them be forever. But she will for now, since she doesn't want to bother her brother, when he is sad. The kitsune do like them though. They are peculiar ones, from another world, who seem to be as out of the water as they feel in Ponyville. They'll gravitate towards attempting to be friendly to them, but attempt not to pester them. As for the prosthetic, I had totally forgotten that, but give it a few days, and it's probably about ready. If Onache wakes up before that... Not decided yet. We'll see. I seem to recall you saying they were about the same size before. And sorry for the misunderstanding. They are more neutral towards him then. I'll try and keep this sort of thing in mind. Now ain't that sweet? You think I'm adverse to make them meet up, just to tear them apart again. Don't feel too safe just yet. Though things can go a few different directions, depending on what you respond next to things. Let is simply be said, that they are not done in the temple yet, and they should probably demand hazard pay afterwards. As for the last post, I can't respond before @Evil Pink One does, so I couldn't leave a reply there currently.
  13. @Catpone Cerberus "That would explain why they have had such a hostile attitude to my presence. I assumed it were more due to me being a thestral, as we do tend to be judged harshly by some. I will keep it in mind, and try to limit my interactions, to not cause them further distress then. Thank you for the information." He had assumed it that, or it being something with kobolds and equines, which seemed to be somewhat true, though he couldn't guess where the point of equines being the way he spoke of might be exactly. He could endeavor to learn, but he supposed that were not the reason for the nudge as it were, from Solar. More of a reasoning to their behavior, and potentially an indirect notion to simply try and let them be for now, lest it were necessary to come into contact with them. Truthfully he appreciated what he were told, as it would help regardless of what their prior story were in more details, as Stargazer wished not to be a burden upon others. He already had been a burden upon society for most of his teenage years, and when he were given the option between getting his life together, and joining the Night Guard, or prison, he had sworn that he would not fall off, and end up a burden once more. That were even more important now, that he were a father, and needed to set a good example for his daughter. "And you are correct, that I am likely the first one they would come to, as I am the only official guard in town. On lend from the Night Guard, until Princess Twilight establishes a guard of her own. Which I believe she is beginning on, as she got a peculiar mare to defend her currently. I know little of her, but she seems very driven, and duty bound. She would likely do well. In any case, I assure you that I will send others along, if they match your description. I assume I am to direct them towards the headquarters in Canterlot, correct? Or do you have another base of operations?" =========================================================== @Catpone Cerberus "Hmm, can't say I've read or heard about Paladins before. I assume it is related to your healing prowess? If so, I wish you luck in re-establishing your order. The ability to heal others, can be highly useful for a great number of beings. I can't say I have as lofty aspirations. I merely wished to study, and find an answer that have long since been forgotten by all but Ancalagon, the oldest of the elder dragons. Yet the dragons care not for the answer, and I not for them, so I've accepted my informal exile, and found contentment that ponies have more hunger for history. The princess of this town being among the most studious. I find more kinship with her, than my own family." Not that it said much. She never got along with them, and she imagined they felt the same way about her being gone, as she did about them being home: Indifferent. Hmm, perhaps her younger brother would miss her she supposed. He were not studious, but he didn't hate the topic, and mostly just caved to peer pressure from others, when things came up. She did wonder how Malefic were doing at times herself, truth be told, but it had been what, ten years or so since last she saw any of her family members. She doubted that they'd speak again, if they hadn't for that amount of time. Or when they would, centuries would have passed. Not like he had reason to come to Equestria. "Might I ask, what the life of a Paladin entails? It holds the ring of power to it, so is it presumptuous of me to imagine that it involves at least a certain degree of strength? If not of body, then mind at the least?" She were a scholar by nature, and thus, had a hard time not being curious, when something, or someone that fascinated her crossed her path. This one were among those she found rather curious, as it were clear he carried a weight of history upon her shoulder, as he were the last of his kin. It could not be easy to carry all that, and yet have none to share it with. Not that she were volunteering... Currently, that were. She were studious of her own topics currently, but she were one of an open mind. If his were an order that appreciated strength of mind and had a good cause, she couldn't see why perhaps her studied could not happen alongside her pursuing goals such as his. Grumpy as she might seem at times, Nerzhei wished to help, and find purpose, beyond translating the ancient tome that had ultimately gotten her banished. Who knew if perhaps this were such a purpose? Of course, there might be issues, that meant she couldn't even attempt as it were, but one wouldn't know without inquiry, correct? ========================================================== @Catpone Cerberus There were some skeletons in the way, but they were swatted aside by Leviathan. It wouldn't destroy them, and she darn well knew it, but at this point, she were just trying to keep them one step ahead, and this seemed the only way so far, for her to keep them out of her way. It were brief, but it were all she had currently, and there weren't any turning back, because of the weirder one back there. Hopefully they'd find an alternative exit soon. Instead, they would find Ruby, which made Leviathan halt, before she hit the dark mist on the floor, and open her maw. "R-Ruby?! Are you okay?" She sounded worried, because she darn well were. Sure it were nice seeing she were alive, but she should not be in here. This were not a nice place, and judging by them not having faced her before, she were surmising that they would not find an exit that way either. Bugger! Were they stuck in the middle then? What else were going to happen now? The answer would come, when the priestess then entered the room. This one looked troubling, so Leviathan would take a step forth, and prepare to blast her aside, giving them time to get away if possible. Instead she yelped in pain, as the mist reached up on her and clamped down, making her stop her magic again. "Son of a drake. Freaking anti magic measures, I swear." That stuff hurt, and she were none too pleased about it. Though it seemed to be affected by the mist... She'd stay out of that, and throw in some ice spears that would shatter and freeze over the risen abominations. They'd be able to shake it maybe, but she had to work fast here to do something. Charir would be able to *mend* her wounds in peace for a bit , while she did this. Not too unusual for dragons to do this sorta thing in a pinch. heck, she'd done it more times than she could count, and not only on herself. She could tell some stories. But it weren't the time for that right now. "I dunno if we're trapped. something came through the door. It's blocked entirely by black magic.. That thing got through, but we'd probably rot. We're gonna have to- Duck!" She'd use wind to yank the two away, and closer to her, as a glob of dark magical most hit them, though it took some effort out of her. They weren't light, and she felt as if something were still dragging in her magic, making things feel harder to use than normal. Bloody dark magic and all it's nonsense sometimes. Pain in her rear almost every time. The priestess however, would simply prepare something else, and use smaller globs, that she'd fire at the dragon, who'd use use ice to encapsule it, so it fell to the ground. She were aiming to tire out the dragoness, and it would work, as the priestess were not bound by mortal limitations, nor magic reserves. It might take time, but she had all the time she needed, as she knew the sound behind them, indicated that there were more coming this way. A single sound of clacking yes, but more were bound to follow. And all the while, the frozen abominations were starting to break off the ice encapsulating them. This were not a fight she would win on her own. ===================================================================== @EQ_Theta "Pain makes it hard to focus? Seems like a hard emotion to learn about then." At least to her, you had to focus to try and learn stuff, so if pain made it hard to focus, would it not be hard to learn? She'd need to think about this, but it were a weird concept that she had to mull over some, she'd recon. Elder Zhao might have given a few choice words to this, but she were busy, and would sort through peculiarities like this later. Or perhaps not. In some way, it would be good for Omen to find out such simple things herself, rather than being subjected to it to understand, by the kitsune. Of course, no guarantee that they could cause her actual pain, but she would think they had a few things that could work. Not that she endorsed it though. They usually reserved such things for poachers, and for good reason. Elder hao would go and silently place a paw upon his shoulder. Gently this time, as she did not intend to lecture him now. This were not the time to be a teacher after all, but to be a force of support that he needed, in his trying moment.
  14. Am helping eith my father's birthday preparations, so won't be able to write for a few days. Sorry for the delay, but I will try and get something written on Sunday.
  15. @Props Valroa I picked the last of your options, because I like her hat and face. And it'd be noticed likely, if an Apple member vanished out of nowhere. As for the other part... Well, you wanted me to pick what the griffon was like. Have fun, you're dealing with a witch burner. Best not try and use any forbidden magic 'round here.
  16. @Props Valroa (Spectra) "Well I assume it won't be hard to find a corpse fitting your needs, if you are not only wanting a powerful unicorn." It would be a fair bit of travel perhaps, but they would eventually end up in Appleloosa, a - kindly said - dusty rural area away from most troubles that tended to hit Equestria. Though they still had some of the ones fleeing from other areas that entered town, waiting for their option to either move away via transport to Canterlot or elsewhere, or would stay here with family for a while, until things were somewhat stable for them. The two of them looked okay, so not a lot would go and show them interest. Though one would actually go over, just wanting to be sure if things were okay with them. "Hey there pardners. Pardon my forwardness, but are you folks runnin' off one of the harder hit towns?" Her voice were calm, and her look overall kind, but she also seemed calm, which were not the case with everypony. Had to keep a cool head here though, yeah? She didn't go move here wanting to get all hot headed. She had meant to cool down, and get her life on straight again, and she were darn well gonna do her part of fitting in, and keep the good streak going. Including meeting these potentially affected ponies, and direct them to the right place. "Awfully kind of you, miss. We were taking a trip around the mountains when the incident happened. We're just trying to get as far away from the madness as possible, until we can return home." "Ain't the first tourists out sightseeing in the wrong place, at the wrong time. Things are still nice and calm here in good ol' Appleloosa. Worth having a look, take a dry breath, and ease all that stress, lest you go do somethin' you'd regret." If they did try something though, maybe she could go and handle them. Weren't the strongest folks she'd ever seen. Seemed possible to take 'em, even if they were unicorns or such. Unicorns were all about taking them by surprise, before they had a chance to act on it, and knock 'em out. A good knock into the ground tended to do the trick. ========================================================== (Canterlot) "Twenty years in storage? Waugh. You hear stories about that sorta thing, but I thought that were just legends. ...Wait, you're not just pulling my leg, right? I know you guards like having a laugh at me sometimes." "It was a bit... Forward, but he isn't lying, Benny." He'd stay and ponder this a few seconds, trying to sort out what to think about this. Foxglove usually didn't partake in these jokes, but it did still sound a bit out there... Eventually he'd just shrug his shoulders, and grin. "Eh, guess I'll hear the whole thing sooner or later. So you're going for a jagged blade, and full cover? I got some pieces that almost fits. I'd need to reforge a bit but... Gimme an hour, and everything should be cooled down and ready for you. Come on you two, we got work to do." The twins would grin wide, and rush into the forge, to join in on the scorching heat, so they could get to work, soon as possible. This were starting to sound like a fun situation, and they'd be here, right smack in the middle of it. Or well, far from the action, and hearing what happened, but that were so much better. Less chance of getting killed in horrible, disturbing ways. "I know it must seem weird, but Benny's not one of your typical brash, arrogant dragons. He's more of a lovable goofball, with a caramel addiction. Is there something else you'd want to do until time come? The captain have asked me to assist you, so I'd try to help best I can." The griffon wouldn't come out as loud as Mausoleum had been. Rather he'd stand still, slowly moving his claws around, as they impacted the floor, and perking himself up. His eyes not opening yet, nor said a word. As the first would try speaking though, he'd open his eyes, and rush over, grabbing the throat of the one who were talking, and holding them up. His pale, light-less eyes made it clear though, that he did not actually see the pony, but had instead heard him, and acted on that. "...Nay, you are naught but a knave. Harken to me the vile fiend, whom fights without valor." "Put my guar-" He'd rush over and grab for Hailstorm too, but the captain would block the attack. He had simply used a hoof, intercepting it to the point where the griffon held it, but he had a free hoof to still hit, and his strong grip were keeping the griffon's there. He had not become captain without knowing how to fight, and this were hardly even a spar. It were just proving a point. "Put my guard down. Now." The griffon would clench the guard's throat a little tighter, as he dangled from his talons, but then opened his hand and let the pony go, to gasp for air on the floor. "One of strength, and stature. This be your station, inquisitor? If it be so, then send word to your men. A brazen witch spreads sin, and must be made to burn." On the inside, the captain were swearing. He didn't know exactly who this were, but hearing his words, and seeing the symbol branded unto the back of his hand, he knew roughly where this one had come from. Spectra had pulled one of the inquisitors, or witch hunters, out of the bloody inquisition of all things. And bloody were the right term. It were a shameful time in their history, Celestia had retreated to grieve for sending her sister away, and the guards had stood without leadership, taking a path of their own. One they would share with certain other creatures, that had been affected by the things that lurked int he night, like changelings, whom were but scary monsters, spoken off in hushed tones by then, for many. The general of the Solar Guard at that time, had led an inquisition to cleanse the ones who had hurt the kingdom, which were obviously witches, and coincidentally, a lot of bat ponies. Symbols of the fallen princess, whom were certain to share in her darkness. Some were spared, but for two years, the inquisition went across Equestria, bringing twisted justice to the masses. To say that Princess Celestia were not pleased when she emerged from her chambers, no longer content with being served by only servants, and feeling ready to return to her duties, would be a giant understatement. She had to essentially rebuild both guards from scratch, and work decades to try and mend the link to the bat ponies. And as for those who had partaken in the matter? It varied. Some had just followed orders, or were scared, and sought answers, that were provided. General Scorchmark, High Priestess Goldenhawk, Grand Inquisitor Pyrewood, and those that followed them with fervent hatred though... That sort were removed from their history, but those who did speak of that part of history, speculated that she had sent them all to the pyre, that they may try that themselves. And now it seemed like they had one of their inquisitors with them. One likely picked because even when blind, he were clearly one with heightened senses, and were in peak, physical condition. Might not be much magic to play with here, but the strong senses could have lured her in. Or he had hunted for her, and she had punished him this way.
  17. @Illiad Easle I got no ideas honestly when it comes to Void, until they return from school. Up to you if you want us to continue there with her hanging out with the small ones for now, or wait until Vale shows up.
  18. @Illiad Easle (Changelings) So her blindfold had been swapped then? What an annoying individual Ninja were, to do such a thing. Skilled too unfortunately, as she hadn't the faintest clue it had been swapped, and she tended to be aware of details, so this were stinging a little to be honest. Sadly there were little she could do about that fact, except act upon it by relinquishing her facewear, and wait to gain a new one. "She keeps thinking that she can get everyone out of this alive, so she divert her earnings to simple guard duty, and seclude those she knows away, whilst also giving us orders to stay out of the main fight. I get the feeling she does not want to see any of us killed, but she's clearly short tempered, pardon my choice of words, so I think in the heat of the moment, she might well forget there is anyone else there, beyond those she feels a strong connection to. I'd worry about those she have there only on loan as it were, like us. As for those she came with... There is something odd about Arcade, but I can't place my hoof on it exactly. He is obviously protective of Pointer though, so he is predictable. Ardee seems angry and curious. I'm assuming someone who haven't been around much, and are annoyed she were being held in their room. They should be safely at the hotel still, along with Mongoose. I don't see them having ulterior motives currently, but they're a team. They will look out for one another first and foremost. I assume this to be her second reason for hiring protection for them. Easier to not being made to chose, if they are not with her. If you require it, they can likely be subdued." ================================================================================ (Null) "Huh, you learn something new every day. Sounds like a sort of evolving hivemind almost, but more clandestine. Hadn't expected that sort of thing were your origin though. Nor that you were the oldest of them. ...How's King Black Knight then? You say those from Wonder are very independent. You've at least seemed to be that too, for a lot of the time I've known you. Especially at the start. Can't say I know enough about Nemesis or Nibiru to say anything 'bout them, but they seem very duty focused. Are you bunch more of a rigid set of knights?" Honestly, it wasn't like she cared much to learn about things all the time, but this seemed honestly interesting. She'd been around most of the world, and seen plenty, but this? This were something new, that she hadn't heard of before. Even the closest thing she could think of it being like, were more of a fleeting resemblance honestly. Wouldn't be hard finding Ninja, but she hadn't assumed it would be either. He'd be waiting, and would make a way to make himself noted, when he felt like it. Seemed the sort, y'know? And rightly so, he were in a small alcove, ready for her return, though one that were faster than expected. She didn't even have to say why, as he guessed so right away, though what else would the reason be? She'd decide to just pretend to have talked to Grey Mare? That wouldn't work. "Yeah, she gave an offer. One that's better than I'd have been able to gather up myself. She said and I quote: Grey Mare humbly request your help for other situations, contingent on the success of this one. And in exchange for that, and rejoining The Grey, you will receive the bounty on yourself. Personally I dunno how large that is, since I ain't familiar with this whole system yet, but I doubt it's anything small, and you said you wanted Ninja to work the debt off. I'd say getting his own bounty is gonna be everything you hoped for, and then some." Might not be, but come on. It would essentially give him a clean slate, and Ninja would need that. He probably had like, full on millennia of debt to work off otherwise. This here were a hugely favorable deal to him, and far more than the measly decades she could have offered. =================================================================== (Hotel) "I wish I had that choice..." His tone were sad, and he would continue to paint with his paw. He were almost done it seemed, though whatever it were, he seemed none too pleased about it. Perhaps he were being forced to do this by someone? Hard to tell, but it wasn't as if things would get simpler anytime soon, as they would get another guest, that would take this from being a simple one on one, to a matter for hotel security, and these two, against the odd kitsune. The movement would come from the hallway soon, as the word would be heard by one of the maids, that would send word for the hotel security right away. All the while, the kitsune would halt his paw for a moment, then continue faster, holding the other in front of his forehead and whimpering. "P-Please don't. It's not a trap. I'd n-never. He told me to place this ward to stop, to... N-No, I can't tell you. He... He wouldn't let me. He'd silence the w-words before they left me." He'd continue to do this, frantically attempting to finish in time, which he'd just need another fifteen seconds or so to do. And he'd continue to try, even if he were attempted tackled, or had more arrows shot towards him. Attempted being the word, as in either case, strong wind would rush around him, and either deflect the arrow(s), or toss away whoever tried getting to him. They could try restraining him with magic, but they were not magic users. It wouldn't work, and when he were all said and done, the whole thing would blink once, in a golden hue, then vanish from sight fully. He'd drop the container after that, with the whole thing sitting on the floor now, a little liquid still left if needed, though he made no motion to pick it up. He'd just turn around, looking towards Ardee (and the griffon, if he had returned), with fear and deep concern in his eyes. "He sees you, and m-moves his paw. I... I'm s-sorry." He'd dash towards his room, and if he got there, would be gone before security could come within the next few minutes, without a trace. Though the belongings left behind, might provide some degree of clue as to what were going on with this one. Or they could try and apprehend him in some fashion, that wasn't stopped with harsh wind. ================================================================== (Void) (whoopsie) Void would laugh as she saw Piecey get a bit of the decorations down. It were nothing dangerous - she hadn't dared, due to these two precious fillies - and could get up again. She just thought it was nice to see the energetic little thing keep practicing her magic. It were good that she were keep trying to push that, and learn. "You're curious, aren't you? Come on then, have a better look you rascals." She'd make sure they got to see the decorations closer, and would pick them up and let them wander on her back and head if they so wished, so they could see things up nice and close, as she hung them up. In this case, the tinsel and flower circle that she were hanging up, and as were the case for the latter, had been pulled down by Piecey. ================================================================== (School) "I promise, Miss Gypsum." She'd be late some other time more than likely, but she'd make sure it were going to be a while before it happened again. "Yup, that's how they said back in school too. I remember-" Her face would fall for a brief second, before she'd shake it off, and return to being all smiles and joy. "Old friend I remember, who went from well covered to much more open and showing it around. It's a big matter for lots of foals. I changed my tail and mane style after I got mine." Cherish would put her hoof off, wanting to make a choice. It was a shame there wasn't dragon, but that were okay. She saw several others she were curious about. "Can I pick Camel? Meeting Miss Sandscroll makes me wonder what it's like for camels."
  19. @Props Valroa I'm working on it currently. Just spend most of the weekend at work or visiting family. Have to do that again from Thursday, but I have enough time before that to make sure to respond here. And I will take things into consideration. Thriceborne's method is to tear out the soul and place it in another vessel for other uses, before putting the primary one in. But we could say that there have been an error, due to Spectra's condition regarding magic. She'd ask into if there were something she had to know, but if Spectra decides to keep that for herself, issues could occur. I could try. Can't say how well it'll go, but only one way to find out, yeah? I'll check the selection and pick one from there, that will be the first face they run into.
  20. @Catpone Cerberus Been some busy days, so not seen your post before now, sorry. I'll address it now. As for the things in the inn, Light had been pushed in the background a fair bit, so I figured I'd try something that gave him something to do. As it stands, no issues with things branching out again, and them having their separate things once more. Who knows? Maybe they will intertwine again someday. If you have any preference as to how I should address them after the split, with for instance the kitsune, or another used character, or even someone new entirely, lemme know. If not, I'll address it as things gets to that point, and take a stab with the on(s) I think will fit best into things. Sear was just asked for help as I didn't know how to involve the kobolds, as they don't seem to care about what happens to Light, so that was my last idea. They can fade into the background again easily, until such a time as you pull them out of retirement, if needed. It mostly came by me having no idea how to take things, and wondering how I could involve Light in something. I had some ideas, but ran low on time and energy, and just had to try something. Things will be more slice of life in Ponyville soon. I think there's been enough fights going for a bit now. As for the temple, having fun there currently, and I have some idea where things will go with this. I will just be curious to see if you guess it before that. ============================================================ @Widdershins Hey Widders. Long time no see. ^^ Worry not, I replied to you all the same, as I would any who suddenly came back, like I hope @GingerLightning eventually will. As for your draconequus... Nope, been ages, so I totally forgot that. If you want that, we'd likely have to split things, as I can't see an opening right here with any ease. Buuut... I could make something happen. Set up a scene, and lemme know if you'd like another draconequus to interact (a new one, that is), or some other, potentially hapless mortal bound to be frustrated by your antics. ===================================================================== @tryxp0ny Hey there, and welcome to the thread. While I welcome folks here, we do need to go through a bit of info on your character before we start. Also, you're replying to an almost 10 year old post, by someone who have not been here on the forums for 8 years. I ain't thinking they'll answer. So, tell me a bit about your character, and then I'll make sure to find a nice setting for ya in the RP, so you can partake all the same. ^^
  21. @Sekel @Props Valroa "Wasn't in the forest. We'd never touch anything from that place, nor would the manetids. You've been there, you can guess why." Cursed grounds that place, or home to some sort of higher sentience, working through the natural aspects. Either way, when the very ground rose against you, and wished for naught but to consume and indoctrinate, from the lowest molecule and upwards, it became downright suicidal to try and eat anything from that place. Not that there hadn't been some who tried over the years, but the princess were soft. She wouldn't have appetite left, if she got even a few of the details about what happened to those. "Her majesty gave it to our ancestors. Never had a clue what it was named, nor did anyone else for generations. Might be plunderseeds, or something like it. These were pitch black though, but did you try tasting the ones you saw? Ain't a bad food source if you're deprived of options." Was after this that Chow would return with their food. The sandwich for Zeehva was placed down first, followed by the garlic sandwich and fish filet for Magnolia. The fish had a nice aroma to it, showing he knew how to use spices, and prepare meat. Speaking of meat, next were the meal for Drone, which were aside of boar ribs, barely cooked, to give it some heat, with a bit of spices to it, but mostly meant as it were ordered. Raw and oozing juices. Then at last, the covered plate with the house specials. Which would turn out to be stew and bread. The stew had a rich aroma of a little spice, and fresh spring veggies, with a hearty taste and tender veggies, that would taste as alluring as it smelled. There were also a bottle of hot sauce next between the bowls, and the garlic bread were formed like small coffins. The spoons for the stews also had the shape of a metal bone, with a sugar skull on top. A bit of local flair. "The sauce is if anypony's aching for a bit more spice, but I'm thinking this will do ya well." He'd finish off getting a can of water, and some glasses. At which point Drone were chewing through her meal, holding it up with her main arms, and gnawing through it, intending on eating the flesh down to the bone. Zeehva were halfway done with her sandwich, seeming ravenous. Last would wait for the princess to start, though her stomach told that she were drawn to what she smelled. ==================================================================== @Sekel Stare wouldn't have words, as she followed Dazzle around. Understandably so, she just couldn't believe what were going on. Why were they gone from this, their home? Why were there seemingly no note, or message of any kind left behind? Had they not cared for her like that? Were it swept away with time? She hadn't any answers, but her heart ached for the hybrid. As one who's parents cared not for them, Stare could sympathize with the feeling, but it wasn't something she hoped were the case here. Hopefully they'd find something. Anything, to help ease things here. Meanwhile in the main room, Scarcity would observe what had been found, after she had cleaned a dreadfully large amount of dust out. This place needed a deep cleaning honestly. "Familiar colorations indicate it could be from her father. Not a shed one though. This were torn. You can see the signs of it on the underside, if you know what to look for. May I?" If yes, she would take the scale with her magic, and then flip it, to show the telltale signs. Well, if you new what to look for, but she could educate a little here. She'd direct them to go to the other room, and meet up with the others. This might prove some degree of... Minor dread, but there were good in the bad news too, and she would lay it out when she saw Dazzle. "Not much luck finding something, I assume? Our search have carried some fruit. Might this perhaps belong to your father?" She'd have the scale presented to Dazzle for inspection. "If it is, it would seem there may be more to this story than them simply moving." Shye might need to have this place checked from top to bottom, by more professional beings, but at this point, she were getting curious enough to allow the investment. It was so annoying when such things would lurk in the back of her mind. ================================================================ @Sekel The changelings fixing up the place halted as they were called out. The one with the chef's hat would take a step back, but the rest would come down, and wander over, presenting the queen with a great big smile. "Hi there, and welcome to Hive Cheshire. I'm Bling. That over there's my brother Upbeat, my other brother Pirouette, and our sister Gloop. Our queen is just inside. How about we go and meet her? I promise, there's nothing to be worried about." Pirouette - the one with ribbons - were looking behind her, then widened his eyes. "Happy Hour? Is that you?" "How's it going, little butter bug?" "You... When did you change?" "Few days ago, long story. Came here to have a chat along with my queen, but Aurora's first in line." "Sure, sure." "Hey, what's the ruckus?" The one stepping out were the size of a regular pony, and looked that way too, but Happy knew differently, and bowed. "Queen Cheshire, I assume." "Well of course. And it looks like I have guests, how nice. Let's start with... You. How are you dear? You seem nervous." She'd go over and present herself to Aurora first, smiling, and extending a hoof. As friendly as could be, and radiating naught but joy, their signature emotion. ========================================================= @Sekel "Nonono, Pinkie Doesn't explode things. She defies logic in fun ways! But I sometimes give her fun kaboomies for her party cannon. I also bring her fireworks, and one time, hoof grenades! Mayor Mare took them, and said they were too dangerous." Not the first, nor last time Mayor Mare had to take things from Blitz that was dangerous, and every time she asked herself how the filly even made those things in the first place, when there weren't any normal raw materials for these things in the area. When called out, Blitz's ears would perk up, and she'd halt from running around, to instead look in the direction of Karmic. "Ocean? *gasp* Fun! Let's Goooooo- Oooh!" She had begun taking off, but Enzo had grabbed her gently, and lifted her up on his head instead, where she could run around in safety. "Thanks mate. She sometimes ain't thinking 'bout where she goes off too, if she gets too excited." "She is fortunate that she is likable." "Hah! That's what the chemistry lab director used to say too. Now let's get going." He'd lead the way through the forest, with nothing really getting close enough to harm them. Sure there were predators, but they had a sphinx with them. Who or what were gonna be that dumb? ========================================================== @EQ_Theta "You and the kitsune pulled me apart. I think I were helpful like that. ...I think normal beings say it hurts when that happens, yes? I do not think this hurts. I am just long." The voice would come from around his left side, which appeared to be where her *mouth* were centralized then. Didn't seem like she had any issues being like this, beyond the fact that she couldn't move by herself anymore. That were a peculiar experience, but not one that she disliked. Nor were it being this stretched. It were just something new to try, and she were probably okay, yes? The elder could likely get her back together again, when she were done rummaging around inside the vines. "I am long." The elder did not answer right away, though a string would pull out of him, dragging the remains of one of the vines she had destroyed with it. When out, the string would cut off, then reassemble into a miniature of the elder, standing on Sen's chest, and looking down on him. "You've gotten into quite a mess young man. These things are well ingrained, but it seems we're getting you back to some semblance of self. When this is over, you need to focus more on your meditation. It worked well at the start, but you cracked under pressure from a mere memory. You need to have a disciplined mind with things such as this. If you intend on pursuing more about this entity and the story behind it all, you will more than likely end up being confronted with something testing your mind again, and there is no guarantee you will get out of it unscathed. That goes for you too, Lin, but we will discuss this further after everything have concluded. My job is almost complete in cleaning you up. Though mark my words, if you fall under again, I am knocking you out until we are done. I have treated you with soft paws thus far. That can change, if you become more a hindrance than a helper." Her tone and glare, being that of a strict teacher, should tell that she were not kidding around. They already had to spend extra time sorting through this issue. Much more, and it would go simpler if he just weren't able to worsen things. When she would eventually be done, she'd leave his form, and then after gathering herself, would take the red pins that had been stuck in Omen earlier, and use them to rapidly form the Ki'nathar back into a ball, as she had been before, then stick the pins back where they had been. Certainly this were weird, but Omen were a kind of adaptable weird. Strange compared to normal beings, and acted unnatural in many, but it were in such minute, simple ways, that it were easy enough to get used to. And she would begin to bounce in place right after, as if nothing had ever happened. "There, that should sort that issue out for now. Now this time Sen, try and keep your composure, and remember that whilst the truth may be ugly, it have already been mostly seen, and thus you cannot avoid speaking of it later regardless. You would do best in simply accepting the past, as ugly as it may be. As you can also see, you have not been abandoned from that being shown. They yet remain at your side." ======================================================================= @Catpone Cerberus @Evil Pink One Shark kept hold of him, refusing to let go, even as he seemed to stop being aggressive towards others, clinging to him like her life depended on it. This would make it far easier for the guard to examine him in a moment, and she sure seemed relieved/confused about that. Long as it would work though, that is what mattered, and she would try and take advantage of it soon, as Shark did hers to keep Light in place, shivering slightly, wanting for help to come to him. She did not understand the concept in some higher power to pray to. if she did, she likely would have done that too. "T-Thank you both for your help." Shark would look up at the mare, as she got closer with Sear, eyes puffy from tears. "Help mate?" "That's what I'm here for. Just try and keep him still." She'd be quick, drawing out a needle, and used it to poke hole on one of the inflamed blood vessels running around on his body. His blood would be tinted by a green'ish glow, from the poison, but she would keep examining, poking a few more holes elsewhere, trying to stay out of sight of Light, so that he couldn't see her. Every time she did, the result were the same. Tinted blood, dripping from the wound. "No eggs, that's good. I can do s-something here." She'd pull out a box of syringes from the bag, then rummaged around and found a small bottle. She'd draw a few inches of lightly blue liquid from it, then push the air out of the syringe, and look down on Light. "It won't cure him, but it should help with the illusions." If he stayed still, she'd jab the needle right into his bloodstream, and inject the liquid. After about thirty seconds, his delusions should start to flicker, making them easier to discern from reality, and ease the pressure he'd feel in his head. "Sir? Can you hear me? You've been infected by a Harvest Mite. I've given you something for the symptoms, but we need to get you to the hospital right away. Can you walk?" ====================================================================================== @Catpone Cerberus "I see... It is good that you have temporary helpers, but I can definitely see a need for more permanent members. I will keep your requirements in mind, though I have met one who might fit your bill, though she haven't been in town for a few days. A peculiar mare with burning ears, and otherworldly magic. Said she predates Equestria, and seek meaning in her life. I cannot say how much of it is true, but I saw some of the peculiar things she could do, and she definitely were not normal. For a start, you don't normally get decapacitated, and later end up walking around as if nothing happened. I might also suggest trying to get in contact with the O.M.I. in Manehatten. Relatively recent a bureau dealing with magical threats. While they might not relinquish any members, they might know somepony who would be of interest, considering their history of dealing with unusual magical situations. In either case, I wish you luck finding new members. Do you have lodging, while you stay in town? Or will you be returning to Canterlot soon?" He missed Canterlot to be honest, but he were asked to go here by the princess, and thus, he would do as asked. Truthfully, he worried more about his daughter these days. He wasn't sure how she'd acclimate to a whole new town, but so far at least, she seemed to have settled well. Even got herself a few more friends. Hopefully it would last. He knew she'd be devastated if he wasn't there. ====================================================================================== @Catpone Cerberus She'd let out a sigh of relief as she felt the pressure and pain ease up. It might not be a full cure, but she appreciated the help that it did provide all the same. The pain were testing her sanity sometimes. "I appreciate the help you could provide all the same. Thank you, Brother Myrkr." it wasn't something she said often to others, but she did truly mean it, and felt a fair deal better, as she put her arm back in the sling. Best to not overexert it, after the heal. No need for taking foolish risks, when it were not yet fully okay. This should help the process by several weeks though. The worst weeks even, which she were genuinely thankful for. The pain made it hard for her to focus on her studies at times. It also helped her better notice his peculiar garments. "It is unusual to see a dragon wearing armor. Might you be a soldier of sorts? I'm a scholar myself. Researching the properties of magic-infused crystals, as well as the origins of the dragon-pony wars." Dragon soldiers in armor were not regular, but then, neither were scholars. Especially those studying history, as most dragons couldn't give a toss about the beginnings of the divide between pony an dragons. Only Ancalagon were still alive to remember that time, and he did not answer questions about it specifically. She had only asked him once, at a chance meeting, but wished to simply know if hers were a fool's errand. When he had said it were not, that were all she needed to hear, to continue her work. If the dragon needed to continue, she would follow him for a little, after taking up her satchel again, so that they could speak a little. It were rare that she found some worth talking to, among her own kind, and this one seemed peculiar. If he allowed it, she would wish to speak with him a little further. ============================================================================= @Catpone Cerberus Getting hit with the weapon, she'd find that the skeleton were not providing resistance, and thus the wound wouldn't get too deep. As if it were intending to have used it to halt her movements, rather than kill her. Or it could simply have been a bad angle for it, when she had gone through. Regardless, it at least wouldn't have hit something vital, so that were a good thing. The details around that though, were debatable in how good or bad they were. It did show she could be hurt regardless, and a more motivated creature would likely have an easier time causing her trouble. As for the room she came to, it were nice and quiet. Until she had picked up that piece of gold. As she did so, dark mist would roll from the walls, out of large symbols that started glowing in onyx out of nowhere. The skeleton parts on the floor would merge into grotesque amalgamations, and start to rise, reaching out towards Ruby, as they wanted to get the thief, and add her to the pile already in the room. One more defender of the temple's treasure. She could try and fight, but something would happen as the fog would impact her too. Not at first, but if she tried to actively use any magic, she'd feel it rise up and cling to her, grasping harder the further along her spell went, causing excruciating pain, until she seized casting further, at which point the mist would lower and grow dormant again. The defenders of this place, had not wanted interlopers to so easily handle themselves in this room. So the dark magic inscribed in the walls, had a twist for meddlesome unicorns. Though the effect would end if she got out of the room, and no longer touched the mist. It would not pass out of this room. If Ruby decided to run away, and try to get out of the room before the amalgamations would get much of a chance to gather in full and grab at her, she could, though she'd need to hurry. If she fought them though, the priestess would soon enough be in the room, and with staff risen, would begin to prepare dark magic to apprehend the living morsel in their temple. She would be brought before her leader, if she wished it or not. And she best prepare for a fight, for this one were ready to wield spells that did not cause her pain. How could it, when she were already dead. ================================================================================ "Hey, back off." The deer would take a step forth. "I'm warning you." Another step taken towards them, calmly and with no haste to his steps. If Charir would try and set the deer on fire, he would succeed. The deer would be engulfed, but soon after, the flames would die out, the gauze would be torched to ash, but the deer would be fine, with whatever scorched patched were shown on his fur, rapidly regenerating. If Charir did not, Leviathan would, and blasted him with a thunder-infused fireball. The same result unfortunately, leaving it a problem, as he did not stop following them. "Tactical retreat. We'll find another way. Come on." She'd signal to Charir to follow her, as she ran in another direction, blasting some wind if she saw any of the skeletons, though the first few they'd run into, seemed to have zero interest in them, and just wandered past them, towards the one that had entered, his steps clacking calmly behind, as he followed the living. If they kept running, they would eventually find themselves having not just bashed through a few dozen skeletons more, but also facing Ruby. Either in the room she were fighting, or the path beyond the room, that she could run through, that would connect to the path they were taking. So they'd be reunited soon at least. How fortuitous, yes? So much easier to catch when they were in the same place. ============================================================================== @Widdershins When she were brought into the spotlight as it were, Cover-Up were blushing profoundly, and trying to hide his face behind his long mane. A sight which combined with the enthusiastic words of Whett, made Alonsus let out a hearty laughter. Yes, the two got some funny looks from a few nearby, but seeing how this were a peculiar outsider, along with one of their more peculiar residents, they weren't approached. It kinda also jaded folks around here over time to things like loud noises and weirdness, when Pinkie Pie lived here. She set a very high bar for loudness and enthusiastic behavior. "You have a bombastic personality my friend. Had Alonsus a want for tattoos, I would fly at the chance. Alas I do not, but this young stallion is clearly a maestro at his work. Certain are Alonsus, that there shall be hides covered in finest work, ere long." Cover-Up were just about bursting into flames from pure embarrassment. He knew that Whett meant only well. That were obvious, but he did not do well being put in the limelight like this. At least no one were seemingly having a poor reaction out of it, and there were a few eyes going on the leg that had been risen. The one where he put a full sleeve of art on. It would likely increase business a little, but it wasn't like there were anyone who'd just pop out and go- "Oooh, that's sick!" The mare at the desk inside had come out to check up on whatever Alonsus were the source of the sudden noise, and would find that no, it were a kirin of all things. She had only read about those. Guess she were wrong about them not being real. Unless this were a changeling, and They were trying to fool her again. Best not take any chances, and just act normal here. Besides, she cared more about the kid anyway. He were the one with the sick leg tat. And not just that, but he had them all over! Sure he were wearing a mare's shirt, but who cared? Might be a new fashion thing. What did she know? She only had an apron. "How long does a half leg take you?" She'd go over and touch it, just to make sure it wasn't something that just rubbed off. But nope, not even a little bit. Felt as soft as a coat would in fact, and as firmly set in on it as could be. That were awesome. I uhm... D-Depending on pattern, maybe... F-Fifteen to twenty minutes? It's magical, not m-machine, so it goes faster." "Wauh. Hey, don't leave town anytime soon then, okay? I want in on this." "Perchance when you are not at work, Berry?" "Well duh, you big ol' goof." She'd grin towards Alonsus. "Nopony needing a fill right now though. Say, who's your friend here? I could hear you all the way inside mate. Did Pinkie Pie give you one of her Happy Muffins?" Sure sure, they claimed there weren't any proof of it, but that was just because others didn't see the connection like she did, when it came to the real deal behind Pinkie's oddities and behavior. Or they just pretended not to, to not hurt her feelings. That were fair, and she wasn't gonna drill Pinkie about it honestly. She'd just wait until the mare slipped and one of them went into the trash, so she could get it and rummage it properly. She already had a ton of other weird stuff just lying about in her trash. Not as funny to go through as Twilight's trash, but whatever. Still fascinating. Really was funny how many important things were just tossed into the trash by other ponies sometimes. You'd think they were crazy.
  22. Will be a few days before I write. Visiting family. Worry not, I shall return.

  23. @Evil Pink One The moon is our leader? That would explain why I keep getting cheese dropped on me I suppose.
  24. @Illiad Easle (Null) She did not show it, but she shared the sentiment of Craven, who'd gulp as he heard that. Yet another reason on the pile of many others, to try and have as little to do with Ninja as possible. Who knew if they'd be lucky a second time? "As you wish. Guess it's time to go back to the ol' creep factory again. My heart's fluttering with excitement already." The sarcasm was thick enough to be cut with a knife, but her dry humor and snark aside, Null would turn around and get back up to the party, where she'd lok out for Ninja. The faster this were sorted, the better. And this were a deal that he'd probably like, as it would be a hefty sum of time off that he'd get. Far more than she could offer. What Null would be given for this duty, were but a droplet in the ocean in comparison, it sounded like. While she were looking though, she'd send a thought to Nine. There were something she were curious about. "Hey Nine? Who's King Wonder? Another progenitor of creatures sorta like you, but not really? Sounded like someone important." Meanwhile back with Grey Mare, Yannit and Craven would bow their heads at their order. "Of course, Grey Mare." They'd both await what she'd ask of them, as part of what sounded like a need to vet them for information, or potential illnesses or something, and if they had to follow elsewhere, she'd wander in front of Craven. It were her duty as the informal leader of their little trio, and Craven were all too happy to follow that. Things went much better, when there were structure and a simple hierarchy to follow. Of which Grey Mare were of course at the top of. =================================================================== (Hotel) "I... I..." He'd gulp, not being happy about having to make the decision, but he'd have to, and... She were safe here, right? Arcade wouldn't be. He'd be out in the open. This place were safe, with other changelings and stuff everywhere, and she were in a closed of room.. "W-Wait for me." So he'd scurry after Arcade, making their way towards The Host's little party tower. He considered telling Ardee, but it would probably just make her mad. maybe best to just et her have some peace. They wouldn't be long either. After they had left though, someone else would step into the room. The off kitsune from earlier, who'd look utterly miserable, and his face showing signs that he had cried, as well as potentially hit himself in the head with something. He'd go tot he wall, and begin to use a toebean and some sort of flowery smelling pale liquid he had in an ink-stopper, to draw a series of symbols on it. The symbols wouldn't be visible for long after they were written, seemingly fading out, though the smell would linger. And al the while, he'd do these things in silence, and with a look of regret and hopelessness upon his pointy face. ================================================================== (Void) She'd make sure to wave them all off, as they were going off to school, and once they were done, she'd turn to her little darlings. It were them again now, having to find something to do, while the others were away. Which she certainly would, and she'd try to involve them too. "So, your big sister is having a big, special day today. So I need to make the place look nice and pretty before they get home. Wanna see the fun things we need to put around?" She'd take them to one of the crates if they were interested, and pop it open to start by showing off a banner, with Ardee's symbol written on it, as well as the text "Happy Cutie Day, Ardee!". She wasn't sure if that were the right local term, but this were the one she'd go for, for the time being. There'd also be various other things to go and shine the place up with. Nothing dangerous to them of course. She hadn't dared to bring something heavy of overly sharp, in case they would stumble over it. But there were some scavenged party items, cleaned and shined as best as they could be, There were also some fluff balls, toys, and snacks, as well as a few new games, etc. They'd likely prefer snacks and toys, but they could play with those too It gave some charm to have that around, in her mind. They'd have plenty to work with over the next hours before school were out, but she were looking forward to it. Tired or not, she felt hyped, and full of pep. ================================================================== (School) About two minutes after Gypsum had asked, Cherish would come into the room, panting slightly. "Sorry I'm late, Miss Gypsum. Time just ran away from me." She had helped Crow set up some things yesterday, after talking her into the book deal, and she had gotten so hyped up about that, and the thoughts about what to do from there, and Ardee's cutie mark, that she hadn't been able to sleep at first. Thankfully she were here now, and as she looked around, she were getting the feeling that this meant they were gonna have a lesson today about some sort of cultural thing? Maybe it were related to cutie marks? *gasp* Ardee were showing it off properly now! That meant it were okay to talk about it. She'd get a big grin on her face, and get closer to Ardee. "I like your new look. It shows off your mark nicely." She'd scurry to her seat a little after that, but she still anted to say something nice to Ardee. She had a special day yesterday after all. And would have eventually again, when it were celebrated. Their lunches had some celebration in it already, when they'd check later. Void had put a protein bar in each of their lunches today. Except for Elef, where he'd find a bundle about the same size, of Dune Fox jerky. She wasn't sure if this would be okay, but she were trying to provide something meaty for him, but she couldn't just put something living in his lunch. That'd be weird. As were this a little bit, but the griffon she had bought them from, said they were a good snack for meat eaters. She'd take her word for it, and apologize if she were mislead.
  25. @Props Valroa (Spectra) "I suppose it is one of those tales, where you just had to be there." He honestly did not find her tale of how she learned this particular spell that amusing, but then again, he doubted he'd find much amusement in things for a long time now. Not with the loss he experienced yesterday. Perhaps on a better day, when he were in a slightly more cruel mindset, he would have found this tale amusing. As it were though... It were but a droplet in a desert. It gave him naught, and frankly, he doubted that he were expected to laugh at it either. He did not doubt though, that Spectra had found the whole thing amusing, and still did, so many years after it had happened. Getting out of here, he'd shut the opening once more, then take a deep breath, and lead the way. He knew of a nearby town where they could... He halted his movements, scratching his chin. Something had crossed his mind. "After the... Incident yesterday, I doubt public transport or the like will be readily available. Either the routes have been damaged, or they will reserve it for emergency driving of survivors out of their areas. We may not have much luck in the nearest town. If we do find some sot of transport though, we could potentially use it as a cover, that we were escaped from there too, us having lived in or near one of the most affected areas. We will need to contemplate such things... Hm, we'll see. Let's keep walking. Appleloosa would be obvious, but any of the smaller villages tend to have transport of some sort, or a connection to the railroad. I suppose we should just go for the nearest, and see how that is affected, then wander out from there." And so he'd wander forth, likely taking lead so he'd be eaten by a bear first or something. Never something he had wanted, but it were feeling somewhat tempting right now, he would admit. ========================================================== (The Construct) It would have seen the efforts handling the debris of the mountain, and find them lacking. A lot of wasted resources, when there were more efficient methods. Perhaps the collapse of this sector though, had caused the backups to falter, and thus they had to rely on emergency measures? It were a possibility. Either way, they were clearly tasked with handling the sector, and it did not intend to disturb that process. It simply wandered in through the flames, as if they were nothing, to get to the ruble it had dug out of. It were not there overly long, but after it left, it would have left something behind. A statue standing on its current overseer, made out of somehow polished stone from the rubble, into a representation that looked just like her, standing tall and emotionless. It also had scribblings over the base, though what it meant were impossible to translate for them. They did not speak in its orderly language, and thus couldn't see the mixture of protective runes and symbols representing her status and supposed sector number. Someone did see it as it were leaving. A bunch in fact. It did not communicate with them though, and just wandered past the bewildered faces that had seen it at times, though most were far too busy to bite notice in a small golem of sorts. One did and slipped though, causing him to be about to drop the water line, straight on himself, which would likely break his leg, due to the pressure. The construct grabbed it before it hit him, allowing the pony to crawl away, and then shakingly grab hold of it again. He would thank the construct, who in turn would light up the top row of its lights, and the bottom left-most, then be on its way again. It might seem a kindness, but in truth, constructs like it were designed to also offer assistance, if something went awry. Like if one of the other constructs slipped. This were by its design... To an extend. It were becoming more independent in a way, switching to thinking over things, as it needed to, to interact with these strange sectors. Were it where it came from, it would be dismantled and repurposed, due to corruption by free thoughts. A chaotic mess that had no place in an orderly world, for a creature not deigned to need it. Its next targeted sector would perhaps change it further. It did not know the name of it, but it appeared to be somewhat barren, barring a large orchard. Perhaps it were awaiting pavement? =================================================================== (Canterlot) Benny were confused, but brightened up well when he heard Vulkan being mentioned. "Vulkan? He's a good pony that one. I came here, having some idea what to do in a forge, but he really sharpened me up good, and just look at where I am now, heh. My mother wouldn't believe it if I told her. Sounds like you knew him when you were younger? Well, worry not. He's not dead, just retired, and living in the Old Town part of Canterlot. Wanted to spend more time with the family, rather than being here the rest of his life. No worries though, I'll get you sorted, just like he would. You certainly look like you need a bit more than the standard uniform too, so good that you didn't just get one off the rack. Still, twenty years? Must be weird for you seeing me here then, huh? Well, you ain't got a thing to worry about sir. I've gotten through the training, as is protocol, but I'm more or less harmless. I just came to Equestria to be together with my marefriend, and this here's the work that ended up coming my way. It's honestly pretty good, and the stuff you ponies have? Utterly delicious. ...Oh right, armor. Let's see... Helmet and boots it sounds like too, if its important work, and weapon wise? Sword? If so, which kind? Broad, sable, standard, jagged, or elsewise?" He'd come closer and look over Stern closely. He didn't need a measuring tape. Just a nice, close look, so he knew what he had to deal with. "I assure you, that we will not rush this, nor have a lot simply wander around out in public. They will be kept here, discretely for the time being, while the generals and the princesses figures out what to do in more details. Stern Steel is a special case, as he might be useful, knowing her methods a little, and being a guard with expertise in general that we could use. I would have asked him to use an alias, but with him being who he are, it would be impossible to keep the word on him a secret for long. It will spread through the guards, such is just how these things goes. Regardless, I do agree with Miss Magloria. If you would please, go see the medical staff, just in case." "Okay, I'll uhm..." Her words trailed as she gazed at Veil further, the wave of nervousness from the so far silent youngster, telling that she wasn't sure why she did so, but expected something bad. Perhaps she were really hateful of kitsune, or thought her some sort of thing to look at, like an attraction? "Uhm. Is... I-Is something wrong?" Mausoleum would shake her head, as if waking from a daze, and look at Veil more curiously than anything. "Nono, I'm sorry if it seems like it. It's just... You're not a kitsune at all, are you?" "No. How can you t-tell?" "Because your soul is equine. I can see it. That's unusual, for living beings. But you certainly ain't dead, or a lost spirit... Never seen somepony quite like you." Veil didn't know what to say, but Shade did, as he broke this up to take his cousin - and her cats, who refused to leave her back - with him to the infirmary. His spell over the uninitiated gone, when he left the room, with the afflicted seeming perplexed. Phantasma would tell them to just ignore it, and prepare for the next one. This time they'd try a griffon, who didn't wear anything that told of the age they came from, but it were a good thing to try from various races, and this one seemed harmless enough, for a griffon.
