  1. Honestly, that seems rather sad It doesn't seem possible at all. Pound Puppies is VERY similar to MLP in terms of humor and characterization. The characters are just as likable. Niblet is just as funny as Pinkie Pie. There are hilarious one-liners. The bottom line is, I just find that to be sad and unfortunate. For someone to like MLP, and yet not like Pound Puppies at all. I understand if someone doesn't like it as much, or just thinks its ok. But for someone to say that they don't like it all at, I just think its sad.
  2. Actually, I agree with you. The reason why I advised people here to avoid the first 7 is because......Well, I know how discriminatory and prejudiced most bronies can be when it comes to other Hub shows, and I didn't want any of them to watch the first episodes and say "Eww! This looks ugly, I'm never watching it again!" I agree, some of the first 7 episodes are quite good, despite the rough animation. When it comes to most bronies, I just can't stand the hypocrisy; older guys are fine watching "girly" candy-colored ponies, yet they refuse to give Pound Puppies a chance? Heck, Pound Puppies is a lot more gender neutral has a lot more male characters, so guys should give it a chance. I'm not kidding guys, Pound Puppies is a really good show. Its just as good and entertaining as My Little Pony. Again, Pound Puppies has sharp humor, appealing characters, a great voice cast, and sweet, touching storylines. All of the elements that MLP has. If you like Pinkie Pie, then you will also like Niblet from Pound Puppies. So please guys, give it a chance, watch a FULL EPISODE. And if you like it, watch another one. For God's sake, Its NOT going to kill you.
  3. Seriously guys, stop being so snobbish. MLP is NOT the only good show on the Hub. Pound Puppies has all of the same elements that make MLP good; Pounds Puppies has sharp humor appealing characters a great voice cast and sweet, touching storylines, with small morals. I'm serious. If you like Pinkie Pie, then you will also like the characters on Pound Puppies. I once witnessed an episode of MLP being screened at a brony con, and the things that people were laughing at, they would also find the same enjoyment from a typical episode of Pound Puppies. Season 1 of Pound Puppies is on Netflix. (Just be aware that the first 7 episodes of season 1 have rough-looking, rigid animation. But from episode 8 onward, the animation is clean, fluid, and is produced by DHX media, the same studio that animates MLP.) Also, season 2 is currently airing on The Hub. Give the show a chance! Watch a FULL EPISODE. (Just avoid the first 7 episodes of season 1)
  4. I'll tell you all why some people hate some bronies; Its because many troll and spam. (Not all, but many) They fill The Hub's Facebook (and sometimes youtube) page with off-topic pony comments, as if MLP is the only good show on the network. (The Hub has lots of great shows) EDIT: I trimmed this. In retrospect, a lot of it was not needed.
  5. Cool. And keep in mind that was only an early season 1 episode. After episode 7 aired, the animation company changed (The show is now animated by the same studio that does MLP.) from episode 8 onward, Pound Puppies has clean, fluid animation and it looks much better. You can see season 1 on Netflix. (Just remeber episodes 1-7 have rough animation), and if you go to Hubworld.com you can see a couple of full episodes from season 2.
  6. Wow, That's really cool! Thanks for posting that info. Seriously, Pound Puppies is a really good show, and it seems like it might be slowly attracting more attention. For the record, MLP is not the only good show on the network, The Hub has lots of great shows.
  7. I'm looking forward to it! If you don't have time to catch it on TV, you can always see season 1 on Netflix.
  8. EDIT: .....Anyway, like I said, its also on Netflix, so if anyone is curious, they can watch it there. And again, for any fans that there may be, the new season starts June 2. So if you like the show, show your support.
  9. Yes, I think that it is. If you like Friendship is Magic, then you will like Pound Puppies. Its got similar humor and great characters. Many of the same aspects that MLP has. Season 1 of Pound Puppies can be seen on Netflix. Just keep in mind that the first 7 episodes of season 1 have rough-looking animation. But then they changed the animation studio, and from episode 8 onward the animation is great (Its now done by the same company that does the animation for MLP)
  10. For those who are interested, season 2 of Pound Puppies starts June 2, 2012 on The Hub. So be sure to watch! By the way, I realize that I talk about Pound Puppies a lot, but its only because I want to give the show some support, I do still like MLP: Friendship is Magic, but MLP already has tons of support on the Internet. Pound Puppies has many of the same elements that MLP has.
  11. You know, having seen all of season 1, I can safely say that there is a lot more to the show than that meme.
  12. Honestly, this new Pound Puppies show has many of the same qualities that make MLP good. Good humor, and sweet, touching plot lines. Everyone who likes MLP should REALLY give the show a chance. Just keep in mind that the first 7 episodes of season 1 have pretty bad looking animation, but after that (and a long hiatus), the animation studio changed, and from episode 8 onward, the animation is excellent and looks great. Some of the characters on Pound Puppies can be just as funny as Pinkie Pie. I'm looking forward to season 2, and I REALLY hope that it will have a third season. However, it worries me that the show doesn't seem to have as much fan support as MLP. I want to see Pound Puppies continue. Its a good show guys. In fact, the season finale was very sweet. So if you get a chance, be sure to catch it on Netflix! And hey, if you want to support it, buy the "Homeward Pound" DVD! ...For example, this clip has some funny dialogue, and the rest of this episode is good too!
  13. Here's some interesting info; According to this production website, the completion date of season 2 is May 11, 2012. So Hopefully the new season will start soon! http://topdrawanimat.../production.htm I have to say, this really is a good show. It has a lot of the same elements that "MLP" has. Season 1 is available on Netflix in case anyone is interested.
  14. Wow, that's really cool sounding info. Thanks for the link!
  15. Well, as long as this thread is still fairly recent, I do want to add here that I really enjoy Pound Puppies. People should really watch it and give it a shot. The humor can be just as sharp as MLP and some of the characters can be just as funny as Pinkie Pie. I REALLY wish that Pound Puppies would get more attention. It IS a good show that has appeal for both kids and adults. On that note, every singe review of the new Pound Puppies DVD I have seen has been positive.
  16. Hey guys, I just wanted to highlight this great article from Toonzone about the 2010 Pound Puppies; http://www.toonzone....-to-eat-all-up/ Perhaps this will inspire some people to watch the show (or at least, watch it more.) and perhaps even buy the DVD.
  17. This is an interesting topic. Good points have been made by both the original poster, and by others. To be honest, I'm not sure how the fandom got so big, and in some ways, perhaps the fandom is starting to get a little too big...In that sense, I think Hasbro and the Hub are starting to embrace Bronies a little too much. That is the only danger I see. (Look what happened with that "Derpy" thing, it blew up in their face, and some bronies totally over-reacted to it.) At the end of the day, its just an entertaining cartoon. On that note, MLP is not the only entertaining show on the Hub, if I may say so, the 2010 Pound Puppies is a good show, and it has humor that is just as sharp as MLP, and characters that can be just as funny as Pinkie Pie. So I just wish that other shows got as much attention as MLP.
  18. ....You know.....I have recently seen a few more episodes of Pound Puppies, and to be fair, many of the episodes are not really too predicable. Most of them are no more predictable that some of the MLP episodes. The Pound Puppies episodes that I have seen have been decent, and at times the show has some very good humor. Oh, and I had a thought, perhaps season 2 of Pound Puppies will start around the same time season 3 of MLP starts.
  19. Yup, Same voice actor. ....Also, I apologize for bumping this back up again, but I was wondering; Does anyone know when season 2 of Pound Puppies is supposed to start?
  20. Very well said! I couldn't agree more. I think he was just upset and embarrassed that she thought of him as cute (like a pet or something) when he felt that dragons should not be cute.
  21. Thanks so much for the great welcomes guys!
  22. Yeah, I know exactly what you mean. There is only so much that the writers can do with a 20 minute story. Perhaps we will learn more about Spike's back story in a future episode. Still, I really enjoyed the episode. It had a good moral at the end.
  23. Now, I love the mane 6, but I also really like Spike, and I have enjoyed the episodes that focus on him and develop him as a character. His character has developed a bit since the series started. I think he's a great character. and I'm looking forward to seeing more of him in future episodes. Are there any other Spike fans out there?
  24. I know what you mean, but just because something is predictable, doesn't mean its not entertaining. Oh, cool. Yeah, you should give it a try, from the episodes that I have seen, its pretty cool.
  25. Not really. I've tried looking around online for fans, but I haven't found many. Though I think there may be some Youtube users who are fans. Thanks for the reply by the way. Yeah, If you get a chance, try to contact them and let them know that you like the show. I just want to see the show continue on. I only recently started watching it, but from what I've seen, I've enjoyed it.
