This is an episode that i am kinda conflicted about, even to this day. First of all, i feel like i watch two short episodes. One is being Pinkie and Rainbow becoming closer friends and the other is about Gilda.
First half is very funny, as Pinkie tries to spend more time with Rainbow and then going on a pranking spree with her. Celestia deserves those letters for what happend in Episode 3 BTW.
Gilda was an interesting character, which could have been made more of, instead of just making her a bully. And i am not just talking about her making Flutters cry, i am talking about it in general.
The ending is very controversial. Some people say Rainbow did the right thing, some say she dosen't. If you ask me, i think she did. She gave Gilda a chance and Gilda said no and left.
Overall, nice episode. Very meh about GIlda, but the rest was between good and okay.

Now this is an excellent episode. Infact, i would even go so far to call it my favorite AJ Episode and maybe one of the most underrated episodes of the entire show.
During the entire episode, you can feel the struggling that AJ is going through, but is still to stubborn to accept help from Twilight. I can really see myself in this, because their was a time when i was too stubborn to accept help. I still kinda am, but it's not as bad as when i was like 16.
We also got our first glimpse of Roseluck, who after the "Lion King" Bunnys trembled over them screamed "the horror, the horror." Certainly a line that still gets repeated.
Applejack helping Rainbow Dash with her trick was also the funniest scene in the episode for me.
The end makes you feel good inside and that was the moment where i finally decided that i like the show.
It gets a big thumbs up from me.

This was the first REAL MLP Style episode for me, with the slice of life feeling to it. But it's another one i only find okay.
I thought the comedy was good in it, especially the benny hill and the moral of the story was also nice, about not hurting a friends feelings, eventhough i kinda saw that moral coming.
But why on earth dosen't Celestia send the 7 tickets in the first place? I mean yeah, it started the whole Trollestia headcanon (come on, it's a better one then Tyrantlestia) but why would she torture her student so much?
So yeah, it was okay. Not good, but not bad either.
Also, Twilight bedroom eyes.

Ah yes, the Series premiere. the one that started it all and pretty much the start of the brony community. On an historical standpoint, this double episode is very important, but on it's own, it's just okay.
I think this episode works if you watch it the first time, because it introduces all the characters, who they are and also shows a bit on what this world is all about. But after that, there is nothing really much to come back for.
The first song of the show is very catchy and some of the antics are kinda funny, but the rest is just an exposition fest. And i also find Nightmare Moon to be none threatning, especially some of the obstacles she lays in the way of the mane 6.
None then less, it's still important and you should watch it to be introduced to the characters.

I kinda want to donate to this!! XD
Even if I don't, I'm totally going to make an OC. <33
Why not both?
Seriously though, I don't hold any ill will towards Hasbro.
The original game was so OFFICIAL looking, that it really could have been mistaken for a legit Hasbro product.
And unfortunately, that's not a good thing for Hasbro.
But I'm kind of really happy to see it come back as an original, adorable and undoubtedly interesting new product.
Don't get me wrong. I wish the developers the best of luck for this project, because i love fighters to death. But the little secret war between Faust and Hasbro leaves a bitter taste in my mouth.

Question is, why do bronies are funding it.
Because they have real interest in it, or they want to take a jab at the "Evil Guys" at Hasbro and want to make their "mommy Faust" Proud?

Huge thanks! But for some reason I couldn't find it when I searched for it.
No prob.
Strange, when i searched for it, it was the first hit. Oh well...

Darn it! Is there anywhere I can still find it?
There you go. Dailymotion is your friend.

It's not exactly a classic lullaby, but you can see it as one.

to think you're all that and a bag of chips, and have every answer to everyone's problems is arrogance. Plain and simple.
Helping your friends is a different matter entirely. You don't go "I'm supposed to have the answer to everyone's issues" to just be there and help a friend.
There is a difference with forcing yourself that burden on and acting all high and mighty.
Twilight said that, because she was under pressure and didn't want to show a sign of weakness towards her friends, because they count on her.

The Tyrantlestia headcanon, for me is actually more fanon, because it comes from out of nowhere. The only reason that i can think, that this headcanon exists, is because, while Celestia isn't a Tyrant, she is certainly an autocrat.
I think most first world countries, where the people have a voice in it, have a certain problem with autocratic figures, because all who don't grand them a voice, are evil and tyrannical automatically.
Most people then also ask "why has nobody stood up to her in the last 1000 years?" The answer is, because she is nice. A content population, dosen't rebel against a nice dictator.
So no, Celestia is in no way Evil.

Her line in EqD Rainbow Rocks, "I'm supposed to be the one with all the answers.", I think, very much proves just how conceited she still is.
First off, she puts herself in that position, because her friends count on her. She dosen't says that because she is arrogant, but because she wants to fulfill that role, even under alot of stress.
Secondly, how is it arrogant to help your friends?

Since i already said that i feel numb about this spinoff franchise, i say that i will certainly watch it, but will probably not freak out about.
I rather wait for the next MLP Episode.

Cutie Marks= not a crusader anymore, this was said in Bloom and Gloom.
Cutie Marks= Still Friends. "A Cutie Mark won't change you, no matter what you get."
-
No, because giving them their Cutie Marks would be the payoff, of an almost 5 year long journey. Alot of people wish that they get their cutie marks and not giving them their Cutie Marks would be a giant blow.
I need this feel good moment.

You can never know, true.
Why not play a bit risky? Even if the show did start to decline, I doubt it'd be sudden. I have enough faith in the staff that I doubt the show would go from great to awful in the span of a single season. It's possible, but I doubt it'd happen. Even if season 6 is amazing, and season 7 is just good, I'd still be happy. The next season not being quite as great wouldn't harm the previous season, or ruin the show, it could still be enjoyable. Also, you'll never know if you can reach any higher if you don't try.
I understand people's worries. They don't want the show to get old, to run out of ideas, to fall on it's face. I don't want that either. If it ends at season 6, I'll be disappointed it was so early, but I will also be glad that at least the show didn't suck at the end...Unless season 6 does suck, but I doubt that'll happen.
Really, it just bothers me to an extent, not that everyone wants it to end before it goes bad, but that everyone seems almost convinced that it absolutely will if it goes any longer. A longer show doesn't automatically make a bad one, and I think a show ending too early is almost as bad as one ending too late. Quantity doesn't have to destroy quality. For all we know season 8 could come out and be the fan favorite of them all, who knows? It just feels silly to wish for something to end so soon, unless you feel it's already started to decline.
Part of it I guess is just that I don't like endings to longer series though. They leave a sour, unpleasant taste in my mouth. They've always felt more like a crime that must eventually be committed, than an enjoyable part of an ongoing story.
I use the word doubt too much.
With all due respect, you consider 6 seasons early?
In the 90s, i was glad if a cartoon lasted 3 seasons. 6 seasons for most of us back then, sounded astronomical and i just talk about Western Animation.
I am not simply talking about the show declining after Season 6. Like you said, it might not be. But i am also speculating that the movie is a fitting finish, instead of just finishing the series with a simple finale that just goes 40 minutes. I would rather have a finale in movie length and i kinda hope that this happens.
And i don't say that because i hate the show. I love this show and i like to defend it more then most people. But there has to be a time when you have to say "that's it."

It's indeed depressing. When i was a little kid, playing on my brothers super nintendo, some of my favorite games where Super Probotector (Contra 3) Turtles in Time and Super Castlevania IV. The first MGS and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night where some of my favorite PS1 games.
Seriously, what happend? There was a time, when you saw the Konami logo on a cartridge or a CD/DVD, you would expect excellence. But it's gone. And while i like the PES series as a Soccer fan, it's not enough for me to put Konami up there, with the great gaming companies.
Good night sweet prince.

For those who have seen the episode, how was it?
I thought it was a great episode. Great moral, mostly well executed with a shot of fuzzy feelings in my stomach..

Yeah someone screwed up.
The sad thing is taking it off won't do anything. Once it's there it's there. Someone's probably already uploaded it to YouTube.
I put the Youtube link up on my status. It's already been watched by thousands and the pics are already on Derpibooru.
Not much room for damage control.

I really hope not, personally. Season 6 just feels too early to me, I think the show could do at least 7 or 8 seasons. It'd feel like wasted potential if it ended so soon, and I'm not a fan of endings in general, so I'm not really looking forward to it in the first place. Endings to longer series never seem to satisfy me, no matter what happens, something always feels off, or missing. The show won't just spontaneously drop in quality without a reason, so it's a little annoying seeing everyone seemingly convinced that's literally the only way it could go.
MLP is one of only two TV shows I even find interesting (The other being Doctor Who.), it ends and my life is going to lose a little bit of cheer, which I don't get enough of as it is.
I don't think that it will necessarily drop in quality, but you can never know. Powerpuff Girls also lasted 6 seasons and a movie, which is also a show that is heavily linked with Lauren Faust, so it would actually make sense.
Why not stop ponies on their height of their popularity, instead of playing risky?
-
You start with the beginning. If i would start a new series, i wouldn't start with third season, because some of the context is missing.

It would be iTunes fault.
I guess you're right. Probably jumped the gun too early.

Twilight, hands down.
Her Centurion outfit was great.

I just recently rewatched some Season 1 episodes and one thing that struck very much out for me, is how good the animation has become over the years. If i compare an episode like boast busters, with the animation of Rarity investigates (which has some of the best animation i have seen in the show) it's like watching 2 shows with 2 different budgets.
If i would compare Season 1 with the rest of the series, i would say it's still better then Season 3, but not really like all time greatest material. I still love Season 2 and 4 too much for that.
Season 1 had great episodes like Cutie Mark Chronicles and Applebuck seasons, but also bad episodes like boast busters and show stoppers. And also episodes that i find overrated like Sonic Rainboom and the stare master.
Nostalgia is nice and all, but it should never blind our judgement.
S01:E06 - Boast Busters
in Season 1 Discussion
This Episode was not good, i say it flat out. This was probably the first bad episode of the series for me.
Trixie was probably the only good part of the whole episode. She is your typical showman that you see in every other show like this. The fact that AJ, Rainbow and Rarity are all mad about it, makes no sense to me. Yes, she is bragging, but that's her job. Trixie is like a Wrestling heel, that thinks he is the greatest, eventhough he is not.
I also don't understand the end. If Trixie shows her magic, it's her being a loud mouth. If Twilight shows it, it's a part of who she is. It was wrong of them to destroy Trixies career (as we would later see.)
Also, Bulk and Skull-excuse me, Snips and Snails remind me of those Michael Bay fans, that you sometimes see in a theatre. They like pretty lights and explosions.
The Moral would work in the right context, but it sadly dosen't.
Thumbs down from me.
