    Is it still Mary Sue if your OC wants to be perfect? She's not perfect, but in a fanfiction I'm writing, she wants to be perfect and loved by everyone. She learns that it's just not possible, though.

      You're fine. Not a Mary Sue. There might be other issues with the character, but that's for you to figure out on your own.

      Some of her flaws can cause more problems, too. For example, when she's stressed, she has trouble focusing her magic to fuse gems to metals. That was a problem when she was trying to fuse diamonds to platinum for a ring while stressed out. She's partially rich from inheritance and partially rich from owning a shop.
