  1. I'm sure the prince would be happy to make time for a fan. But alas, there's so much to do, and so little time... and I'm afraid not everyone appreciates him as much as you. But really, he's glad you thought of him.
  2. Well, that is making assumptions about Twilight's current age (and her age when she was being foalsat). Personally I have reason to think (fairly good reason, if I do say so myself) that Twilight isn't that old. But I do agree with the rest of your post.
  3. I don't think it's true that no one likes her, but from what I've picked up on (this isn't necessarily my own view) a lot of people seem to feel that Shining Armor and Cadance were both kind of "shoehorned" (they did come out of nowhere), as well as being kind of bland/2D "perfect" cliche characters. Again, I don't dislike them myself, but I can see where these people are coming from.
  4. I share your headcanon, ma'am/sir. The OP poses an interesting question, though.
  5. I'm not a "Trixie sympathizer" personally (I feel she totally was a villain in her first appearance), but I have to agree that she was obviously talented at magic. I'm not sure where the popular fandom idea that she's "bad at magic" or "her special talent is just stage magic" comes from. I thought the whole point of Boast Busters was that she was talented, but that unlike Twilight she wasn't humble about it?
  6. Sweet tooth with diabetes running in the family... Same.
  7. I don't own any merch. But you seem to be more of an appreciator of merch/the older generations than most of these guys, so I see why you'd be even more affected than them.
  8. Now, be reasonable, my good fellow. That comic isn't going to read itself, you know.
  9. You've been hearing from the wrong Christians, then.
  10. There is no "night guard"; Luna only has two guards, Echo and Nocturne.
  11. Not sure Ranky64 is right about the episode saying that. Shining Armor looks to have married in, and Blueblood is a hereditary royal (Celestia's great-great-great-great-great nephew) - and Rarity said she'd be a princess after marrying him. Extending that, Cadence might be a princess because of being adopted as Celestia's niece, not because she's an alicorn. Twilight might be the only case of a commoner "earning" a royal title.
  12. Not a novel, it's a "picture book" - But it's a special picture book, with high quality hand painted art. Pirate arc made a couple tiny references to it that makes it seem the comic writer was taking it as canon (a couple little things make more sense when you know about the events of the book). http://www.amazon.com/My-Little-Pony-Under-Sparkling/dp/0316245593
  13. This thread got necro'd by Discord. It's like 4 months old. But speaking of that pirate arc, it ties in a little to that "Under the Sparkling Sea" book - Did you read that one?
  14. One example that comes to mind, considering it used to be my avatar. (I screencapped/cropped/resized it myself at the time though... Didn't think of checking derpibooru)
  15. Other toyline ponies could feasibly be living in one of the half a dozen Equestrian settlements the show's yet to spotlight. But alicorn princesses? That's something pretty major for us to never have heard of or seen, if they were still alive and/or relevant.
  16. They might be long dead alicorns from centuries past, though, or even future alicorns who've yet to be born.
  17. That's what Faust wanted anyway, though, if I remember rightly (a more gender-balanced pony population)
  18. Why does this thread get so many posts when *my* comic-based fanclub is floundering? B.B.'s a swell guy, honest.
  19. Why not write a fanfic of your own?
  20. Hmm, I'll give you most of this list. Minor point on the second entry, though - Not a concentration camp. Also still not sure if R.D.'s wing was a prosthetic or a piece of armor. Don't remember the thing about Twi assuming NMM killed Celie. And yeah, I'll grant you Party of One got a little creepy there, with Pinkie's whole sanity slippage. The Aramaspi skull, though? Small fries. And what demons released from hell? Tirek? That's not really- Wait, it looks like I'm not giving you most of this list after all. At least, not without slight arguments. But all of this, it's still all totally appropriate for the target audience - 8 year olds - and even then it's a *very* small minority of the stuff on this show. We're giving undue weight to the few things we can grab onto, even when they're not dark at all compared to other kids' media. I mean, *Disney* movies go to darker places than this show does. Now, I might be slightly biased atm because I saw part of a YouTube video a couple days ago that tried to show scenes that "proved" MLP wasn't for kids - and it... Wasn't a very good video. The points were terrible compared to yours; Facepalm-worthy, realy.
  21. If you think this show is dark, you're only fooling yourself. I was like that once, to be fair. It's understandable. We want so badly for this show to be serious, for us to be serious, that we're willing to stretch things out of shape and put undue weight to try to forget that at the end of the day, we *are* watching an incredibly sweet and saccharine, totally inoffensive, show for 8 year olds. But remember, the sweet innocence of it is *why* some members of this fandom were drawn to it in the first place. So I hear. I'm not one of them (but that's another story).
