So I finished the Inheritance Cycle (the Eragon series) the other day and my favorite character is Angela the Herbalist, who I'm absoutely certain is a Timelady (like from Doctor Who). I didn't suspect anything until I read to the part that it last says. All of the evidence is shown here (for some reason with a black background):

There is also significant evidence to suggest that Angela is meant as an homage to the long-running science fiction series Doctor Who. After Brisingr, Christopher Paolini admits to including at least one Doctor Who reference in-story (specifically, the line about the 'Lonely God adrift upon the Sea of Time') and several more appear in connection to Angela. The main character of Doctor Who is the Doctor, a man whose real name is unknown and who belongs to a quasi-immortal race known as the Time Lords. Solembum mentions to Eragon that he has seen many strange things with Angela, including rooms that are "bigger on the inside" than the outside would suggest, a quality ascribed verbatim to the Doctor's TARDIS or space-time ship. Angela is also shown to have control over at least her own passage through time, a technique she uses against soldiers in Dras-Leona. Like the Doctor, she is exceedingly eccentric and effervescent and often makes seemingly random statements in a completely matter-of-fact way. She also has a youthful appearance despite an age on par with or exceeding that of the average elf, a quality shared with the Time Lords. She speaks nearly every language in Alagaesia, the Doctor himself being able to speak almost every language in the universe, is another quality they both share.
In the battle to escape the priests of Helgrind, she says to the chief priest that he wouldn't have dared face her if he had known who she was. She leans in and whispers something (presumably her real name) in his ear. He is horrified. In Doctor Who, the fact that the Doctor's name is a secret is a recurring theme and it's implied that his name reveals him to be someone horrible.
Finally, at the end of Inheritence, Angela is knitting a hat with the beginnings of a word on it, the letters "Raxacori". Raxacoricofallapatorius is the name of a planet in Doctor Who.

Anyway, last night the first half of the round of 16 (or the Sweet 16). It held the fights for the second and (I'm pretty sure) fourth quadrant. This time there weren't really any upsets for me (besides a really small one that I'll discuss later).

Starting with the fourth quadrant, Poison Arrow VS Hypershock. This fight I was hoping Posion Arrow would win (Though I wouldn't be too upset if Hypershock had one). At first it seemed Hypershock would win, since they were pushing and hitting Poison Arrow all around. However, Poison Arrow never stopped, and eventually Hypershock was left unable to move (Also, Poison Arrow for some reason decided to use their drone and useless mini-bot, neither of which did anything). Next up, Bombshell VS Red Devil. If you've read my other Battlebots entries, you'll know I hate Red Devil because they beat Witch Doctor in one shot (Mostly because Witch Doctor made a terrible decision, but still, Red Devil sucks). Anyway, In this fight Bombshell used their vertical spinner and a defensive plate on the front. At the start, they started up their spinner and attacked Red Devil. It was a good hit, but Bombshell's spinner quit working. However, this didn't stop them from going on the offensive. Red Devil didn't seem to have that great of a driver, because they didn't do very much to attack Bombshell and messed themselves up a whole bunch. Bombshell shoved them around the arena into hazards and walls, all without sustaining very many hits. In the end it went to the judges, though they all voted for Bombshell. On a side note, the guest judge this time was Micheal from Vsauce, a very good YouTube channel that I highly recommend checking out.

On to the second quadrant! To start, Bronco VS Razorback. This fight didn't involve very much flipping, surprisingly. Razorback went with their drum spinner this match, so Bronco brought in their anti-spinner wedge. Razorback attempted to attack, but was mostly only able to drive over Bronco, who proceeded to basically uppercut it in the jaw. The third time this happened, Razorback flipped of the side of Bronco and landed just right and it's side that it couldn't move. Pretty good fight, though not very much action. Finally, Warhead VS Minotaur. This is the fight that I said I'd had a small upset over. Minotaur won, and I was rotting for Warhead, though I'm okay with Minotaur winning. For this fight Warhead kept their new and improved spinny head thing. Both bots started their weapons up and got them to full speed, then collided. Warhead went spinning around as usual, and Minotaur didn't react much. They attacked each other a few more times, mostly with Warhead running over Minotaur. Then, when Warhead was getting off of Minotaur, Minotaur decapitated Warhead. Warhead's head went spinning around and Minotaur beat Warhead into the wall, where it ended up laying defeated and headless.

These fights were great, and next week's should be even better. First off, Tombstone VS Brutus. Brutus hasn't had much action, what with Moebius self destructing and Lockjaw turning into a shoving match. However, this fight should be very exciting. Tombstone is one of the most dangerous robots in the tournament, but it's spinner can be defeated by a sturdy vertical spinner. Next is the fight that I'm most excited for: Nightmare VS BETA. BETA is the only hammer bot I've ever seen that is in any way effective, and Nightmare has proven to be powerful and dangerous. If Nightmare can get to the base of BETA's hammer, things will go south for BETA. The next fight seems like it'll be the least exciting of the bunch: Bite Force VS Chomp. Bite Force's fights aren't the most interesting, and Chomp isn't an interesting bot to watch. However, this is an important fight, and is still watch-worthy. Finally, Mega Tento VS Yeti. I don't think Mega Tento deserved to even get the wildcard postion, and it's very stupid that they somehow scraped a win against Stinger. Yeti has proven to be very dangerous, and not someone to underestimate. They also have the advantage of not being too serious. The people behind Mega Tento are in this to win, while the people behind Yeti are in to have fun. Plus, Yeti can hopefully smash Mega Tento to bits.

    That's all folks!

Okay, screw spoilers, I am pissed off at the Witch Doctor VS Red Devil fight. Witch Doctor was set up to win this tournament, but then Red Devil had to go and get ONE shot in. ONE. That was all it took for Red Devil to break Witch Doctors batteries. I'm really really mad. If Witch Doctor had just gotten on the side of Red Devil and attacked, they most likely would have won. As they said afterward, they shouldn't have put in Shaman and instead kept their front armor plow thing. I'm just mad, because even though Red Devil isn't all that bad, it's going to be destroyed. It's in line with Cobalt, SOW, Poison Arrow, and Hypershock. Red Devil beating these would be a huge upset.

Anyway, the other fights. the Yeti VS Lucky fight was a very good fight. Yeti is actually a very good bot and has the potential to win. Lucky was just meh. It's not very good, and got smashed to bits. I like Yeti, and it would be cool if it won. Minotaur VS Blacksmith was also very good. I don't really care for Blacksmith, but I would not be upset if Minotaur won the tournament. Anyway, Minotaur literally destroyed Blacksmith. Blacksmith caught fire, the third time a robot has in the tournament so far (I think). Finally, Bronco VS ChromeFly. ChromeFly is a neat looking robot, but it's pretty terrible. Bronco hit one of it's blade one time and ChromeFly literally exploded. Then Bronco broke it's other blade and flipped it out of the arena. So yeah, ChromeFly was bad.

So those were the fights that happened. Now though, the bracket is online, so I can talk about the fights I'd like to see! I'm most excited for the Nightmare VS Icewave fight. Both are destructive robots and I really like Nightmare. i'm putting faith in Nightmare because it's giant blade is in the right position to smash Icewaves top. The second fight I'm excited for is SOW VS Poison Arrow. SOW is destructive and dangerous, but Poison Arrow has a drum spinner, and vertical spinners tend to overpower horizontal spinners. Both of these bots have a chance to knock out the other, so this fight should be good. The last one I'm most excited for is Brutus VS Lockjaw. Lockjaw did pretty bad against Yeti, and Brutus has a similar weapon AND guns. I don't like Lockjaw and Brutus is pretty awesome, so i'm probably going to enjoy this fight. Also, honorable mention is the Tombstone VS Escape Velocity fight, because any Tombstone fight tends to be great.

    So, that was that!

Here's a picture of the bracket:

So, in my last entry I talked about the first episode of the new season of Battlebots. At the bottom I put in my idea for a robot. Here's what I wrote:

What I have in mind is a weapon similar to Nightmare's: a giant razor blade. However, rather than having it vertical (or even horizontal), I would have it diagonal. Most bots or pretty well protected on the top or sides (usually both) bot some bots have vulnerabilities that you could only get at with something coming in down and from the side. The problems with this design are that it would have to be heavy enough that it wouldn't almost flip every time it hit something, and the blade would have to be strong enough to survive an impact with a vertical or horizontal spinner which could potentially jam it. The mechanisms would also be hard to align, and there's of course the all important choosing of the name. Outward appearance (like paint job and aesthetic design) are also important. However, if I ever was able to design and build this robot, I feel like it could potentially do very well (note the potentially).

That's more about the primary idea and possible problems with it. However, no robot is complete without a good name and design. The design I'm thinking of is that it's made to look as though a large razor blade was launched and stuck into a wall. The design would be simple and provide a way to armor it. Next, of course, is the name. The idea I've got is Trial by Combat. What it has to do with a razor blade in a wall I have no idea, but it sounds awesome.

So, that's the idea I've. What would you design it like? What would you name it?

So today was interesting. It's our second to last day of school, so we had some small parties. In Language and Reading we watched The Light In The Forest and ate pizza. In Computer this one vaguely annoying, talkative, and not very smart girl bought everyone a slushie (as long as you payed for it). Then one girl started going crazy about her crush and it was just craziness. I have a picture and a video. I'll put the picture in the next entry.
  6. LHfunk
So I am an idiot and somehow didn't realize that the last episode was the finale. Don't know how I messed that one up, but whatever. At this point, I don't think spoilers apply, but I say it anyway: spoilers.

So, it was only four fights I didn't watch, so I don't have to do much writing. First, Tombstone VS Yeti. Now, Yeti had one chance, and that was if they were able to immobilize Tombstone by taking out it's wheels. At the start, they had a chance, but they didn't take it. Tombstone was able to take out most of their wheels. However, Tombstone couldn't get to all of them, because Yeti was able to disable Tombstones blade. However, with only one and a half wheels left, they couldn't do anything. Tombstone won, but they did suffer a fair amount of damage. Next up, Minotaur VS Bombshell. This fight surprised me. Bombshell went with their vertical spinner again, which was a good choice. In the beginning, Minotaur was leading, taking of small bits and pieces of Bombshell and speeding around it. There weapons collided a couple times, but nothing happened much except for once. Minotaur and Bombshell ended up both speeding into each other, and Bombshell delivered an uppercut directly into Minotaur's spinner. It broke something, and only one of Minotaur's wheels was functional. Minotaur drove around a bit on the one wheel, but eventually they couldn't continue, and Bombshell took them out. It was unexpected, but a very good fight. As Bombshell and Tombstone were gearing up for the Championship match, the three bot rumble took place between Witch Doctor, Bite Force, and (surprisingly) Wrecks. Bite Force and Witch Doctor have very similar weapons, so Bite Force's superior driving skills gave it the one up on Witch Doctor. They beat Witch Doctor around while Wrecks did it's flaily thing near the wall. A few times, Bite Force hit Witch Doctor into Wrecks, throwing Witch Doctor around, eventually out of the arena. It was fun to watch, but a little sad to see my favorite robot tossed around. After Witch Doctor was disable, Bite Force made short work of Wrecks, who still hadn't really moved. Finally, the championship. I didn't have really any faith in Bombshell, and when I saw they had chosen their horizontal spinner, I lost any remaining faith I might have had. Their plan was to disable to chain that drove Tombstones blade. It might have worked if Tombstone wasn't Tombstone. Tombstone broke Bombshell, and they punished it. All that build up and then Bombshell was smashed to pieces immediately. Tombstone won, and did well.

Can't wait for next season, which they better have, because Witch Doctor needs to win.

Spoilers, though it's been a few days since the episode aired.

So! We're down to four bots, and the fights leading up to that were great. Starting off, Tombstone VS BETA. After BETA defeated Nightmare, I was ready for BETA to be annihilated. I din't quite get that. BETA's protective plating was enough to keep Tombstone's blade from ripping it apart, but Tombstone was able to break the base of BETA's hammer. BETA was able to push Tombstone around and was coming close to making Tombstone knock himself out, but in the end, BETA couldn't do enough to beat Tombstone. Next up, Yeti VS Chomp. Like I've said, Chomp sucks and shouldn't have gotten this far. Lucky for me, they had to fight Yeti. Yeti took away their arm lever thing and added defensive plating to the top. They didn't really need it though. Chomp couldn't do anything. Yeti just attacked and attacked and attacked, throwing Chomp around, eventually leaving it laying on it's side, unable to move. I was very glad this happened, and I do think Yeti has a chance of winning. They're up to fight Tombstone, and Tombstone has shown to be weak to good vertical spinners (Like Witch Doctor). Anyway, next fight! Bronco VS Minotaur. I like both of them, and I really wasn't sure who would win. Bronco's defensive back plate worked well against Razorback, and Minotaur is incredibly dangerous. However, Bronco seemed a little out of wack. They used their defensive plate, but just ran forwards towards Minotaur. Bronco didn't turn around to defend themselves once. Minotaur broke them apart, and took off all of their wheels. Bronco did terrible, and I'd like to know why. With that, Bombshell VS Poison Arrow. I like both of these robots, and it was an interesting fight. Bombshell, interestingly, used their vertical spinner again, which broke after one hit last fight. However, this time it worked perfectly, and Poison Arrow couldn't do anything. Bombshell's spinner was more powerful, and Poison Arrow wasn't fast enough. It was a good fight, though I don't think Bombshell is going to be able to do much against Minotaur.

The final fights should prove great, Tombstone VS Yeti and Minotaur VS Bombshell. I have a feeling the final fight is going to be between either Minotaur and Tombstone or Minotaur and Yeti.

I wrote an entire thing for this and then it didn't work and I lost all of it so here's a summary:

    Spoilers blah blah whatever.
Nightmare VS BETA: Nightmare should have won and now I'm upset.
Bite Force VS Chomp: Chomp doesn't deserve to be here and shouldn't have won.
Tombstone VS Brutus: Great job Tombstone; sorry Brutus.
Yeti VS Mega Tento: Take that Mega Tento.

    Next week's fights:
Tombstone VS BETA: Destroy him Tombstone.
Yeti VS Chomp: Rip her apart Yeti.
Bronco VS Minotaur: This should be interesting.
Bombshell VS Poison Arrow: Go poison Arrow.

    There's the summary.

I wasn't planning on making a review for anything ever, but Stranger Things is too good to not talk about. Anyway, as I'm going to be talking about the first episode, there's obviously going to be spoilers. Also, it's been a bit since I watched the first episode, so I'm probably going to forget a few things.

Starting off, we watch a man who we assume is some sort of scientist run through a few corridors against flickering lights, obviously frightened by something. Then, as he is attempting to flee via elevator, he is attacked by some creature. They did very well here by not revealing anything about the creature; we don;t know if it's alien, supernatural, man-made, or anything of the sort. Next, we get on with the introduction of the kids, and then the disappearance of Will. They did good here by not revealing anything else about the situation. We assume the creature is the same as in the beginning, but we still don't know anything about it, other than that it is humanoid. Will disappears, presumably taken by the creature. We also get the introduction of the mysterious girl named Eleven, who sneaks into a diner and steals some food. We also learn here that she has some sort of power when she turned off the fan. Then, people show up at the diner pretending to be social services. They kill the diner owner and attempt to take Eleven, but she escapes into the woods. Late at night, when Will's friends are looking for him, they come across Eleven, and the episode ends there.

I feel like everything was done excellently, and they introduced a large amount of strange and different elements without feeling rushed or forced or anything. All in all, it was great. I'm going to do episode two in a little bit, and episode three once I finish it (the stupid tornado interrupted it last night).
  10. LHfunk
I finally finished something else for my book! Writing, as it turns out, is really difficult when you have so many other things you like to do, like watch Supernatural or read Homestuck. However, I have finally written something else! Hooray! What I've written is the first of many paintball matches that the team plays. I'm not really familiar with paintball (having only ever played it once) and so I don't really know if what I've written is actually something that would make sense. However, I think it does, and so I've written it.

Without further ado, here it is!:

Teresa, Alex, and Jade started forward, staying close together. They reached a crossroads and split up. Teresa went right, Alex forward, and Jade left. Teresa and Jade stayed in each other’s sight for as long as possible. As they made to go forwards, there came the sound of someone firing on Jade’s end, and paint splats appeared on the ground a little ways behind her. She fired back some while running for cover. She crouched down behind a corner and gestured at Teresa to come help. Teresa started towards her, but froze when something flew past her and splatted on the building to her right. She turned quickly to her left and searched for the paintballs origin. She couldn’t find it until another shot went whizzing past her face, missing her mask by inches. She looked where the paintball had come from and saw Nick aiming through the first story window of a building at the other end of the area. Teresa fired off a couple shots, then ducked behind the building to her right. She peeked around the corner and got hit with the remains of a paintball that had splattered on the wall barely an inch from her face. She whipped back around and crouched. She took this opportunity to check on Jade. Jade was no longer there, but there were quite a few more paint splats. She looked back around her corner and saw that Nick has disappeared. She abandoned that route and moved to the middle, where Alex had gone. She cautiously peered around the corner and almost got a face full of paint. When the paintball hit the building however, it splatted green rather than orange. She looked around the corner again to see Alex standing in the middle of the lane. Teresa pulled her head back and held out her gun to show that she was on the same team. When no shots came she slowly came out from around the corner. Alex was walking towards her. Teresa came out and quickly walked to Alex.
When they were close enough Alex said, in a muffled voice because of her mask, “Did you get anyone?”
Teresa shook her head and said in an also muffled voice “Nick almost got me, but I have no idea where he went. Do you know what happened to Jade?”
“No, but she’ll probably be okay. I’m pretty sure it was Felix that was shooting at her, and she’s much better than him.” Alex responded. She looked around, then opened her mouth to say something, but was interrupted when Teresa shoved her down. A second later a paintball hit the ground a few feet behind where Alex was standing. Teresa aimed about where it came from and saw Jayden aiming down at her from a balcony. They both fired at each other. Teresa hit the door frame behind Jayden and he hit the ground to her left. Jayden turned back into the building and ran. Teresa lowered her gun and walked over to where Alex was noisily getting up.
“Was shoving me over really necessary?” she asked annoyedly as Teresa helped her up.
Teresa responded, “Hey, it’s not my fault you fell over. I was just trying to push you out of the way.”
“Whatever, we need to find Jade.” said Alex, turning towards the crossroads. They walked to the corner and looked around it. Nothing was there except the paint splatters from before. They both slowly walked to the other corner and ducked down. Alex quickly edged out around it and pointed her gun upwards. After a few seconds she stood up and said, “All clear.”
Then a large amount a paintballs splattered all around her. She jumped behind the corner and almost fell over again. “Never mind.” she said, “Not clear.”
The paintballs stopped raining down after a few seconds. “Where do you think they were coming from?” Teresa asked.
Alex pointed in the general up direction. “Over up that way I think.” Then she moved over to the edge and pointed her gun around the corner. She fired about ten times before they heard a muffled shout of, “Damn it!”
Alex and Teresa then both cautiously walked around the corner. In the upper right balcony on the second closest building stood Nick, with one large paint splat on his right shoulder. There were other splats on the wall to his right.
Alex put down her gun and shouted, “Ha! Gotcha!”
Then she took a paintball to the face.
From the doorway of the house Nick was in stood Jayden, his gun still pointed towards them. However, he didn’t see Teresa until it was too late. The paintball hit him right in the chest and he jerked back a little. He looked down at where it had it, then looked back up, walked out, and held up his gun in surrender. He walked to the exit to wait for the game to finish. Not too soon after, Nick came down doing the same thing. Alex gave Teresa a thumbs up and followed Nick.
Now teresa was all by herself. From what she could tell, neither Jade nor Felix were out yet. She walked down the lane, gun up and ready. She reached the next crossroads without incident. There she found the largest collection of paint splats yet. She looked around at the spot, trying to determine where they had gone, when she spotted movement on a balcony a house down. She fired off a few shots, but missed. However, the person shot the ground roughly ten feet in front of Teresa, rather than at her. One check of the color told her it was Jade. Teresa ran to the building and ducked inside. After checking that Felix wasn’t around, she ran to the stairs and up to Jade. She was still on the balcony, looking for Felix.
She turned as Teresa approached. “I think I know where he is, so I’ve been trying to draw him out. So far, I haven’t seen him, but I heard him fall down the stairs in one of these houses.”
“Ouch,” said Teresa. “What do you think he’s planning?”
Jade shrugged and said, “Not sure. I’m sure he’s probably coming after us, but he’s being very ste-”
    THUMP
Both Teresa and Jade whipped around, guns pointed into the building. After a few seconds, they relaxed slightly, only to tense up again with another THUMP. They moved slowly into the building, expecting Felix to suddenly jump out from somewhere.
Then, quite suddenly, there was another thump right behind him, and the sound of a paintball gun going off. Teresa spun around quickly, firing blindly. She heard a grunt of pain from Jade and a very loud, “Ow!” from Felix. She looked and saw that she had Felix right on the inside of his left thigh, and Jade had been hit on the back of her right hand. After a few seconds, she realized what had happened and punched the air, shouting, “Suck it, Felix!”
Felix grumbled a little then said, “That’s not very sportsmanlike.”
“Oh shut up.” Teresa said, happy from her victory. Then she, Jade, and Felix all left the building, ready to finish up and get something to eat.

Still spoilers, blah blah blah whatever.

So yesterday's episode marked the end of the round of 32, and we're now onto the sweet 16. There only two big upsets for me, and two minor ones. To start, Stinger VS Mega Tento. This is the largest upset for me, all because Mega Tento won. Everyone in my family was very surprised, because Stinger practically owned the entire fight. Mega Tento did very little damage and did pretty terrible. Stinger hit them around all over the place, and actually lit them on fire. Somehow the judges decided on Mega Tento, which made me pretty annoyed. The second big upset was Captain Shrederator VS Chomp. I don't think Chomp won in the qualifying round, so I really wanted Cap. Shrederator to beat them. Things started out looking pretty good, but then Chomp got in a few hits and Shrederator started to slow, eventually coming to a stop. Chomp was also having problems. Miraculously, Shrederator was able to start again and attempted to take out Chomp, but one more hit took it down. However, Chomp's next opponent is last year's champion Bite Force. This leads nicely into my first minor upset, which was Bite Force VS The Ringmaster. I liked Ringmaster and was hoping they would win, but Bite Force was the better bot and beat them. However, Bite Force's weapon seems to not be very durable, and could very well be their undoing. The second minor upset was BETA VS Overhaul. Overhaul this year was much more likable, and they did well against Cobalt. However, BETA beat them to death.

Now for the two fights I was most happy about. The first was Nightmare VS Icewave. Now, I like both bots, but I really wanted Nightmare to win. They didn't show the complete fight (they just showed the more interesting parts and summarized it), but it was enough. Nightmare and Icewave fought, and Nightmare's giant blade thing quit working. However, the impact took it's toll on Icewave, and it was left unable to move. The second fight I was happy about was Lockjaw VS Brutus. I really don't like Lockjaw or the builder behind it, and Brutus is a very cool bot, so I was happy when they said Brutus won. I would have been a but more annoyed that they didn't show the fight had anything more happened than a shoving match.

Finally, the remaining two fights. Let's start with Bombshell VS Cobalt. I like both of these bots and would have liked to see the fight between them. However, the summary was enough ti impress me. Basically, Bombshell is a Swiss Army robot. In their first match they used a pretty ineffective axe hammer. This round, they used an adjustable horizontal spinner. Cobalt has an asymmetrical horizontal spinner. Cobalt's plan was to knock out Bombshell's spinner by facing backwards into them. However, this fit nicely into Bombshell's plan. With Cobalt facing backwards, Bombshell was able to get their blade at the right height and tear apart Cobalt. Anyway, with that, the final fight. Hypershock VS Warrior Clan. This fight was a fun one. Warrior Clan brought their drone, Dragon, and actually had a decent plan for it. However, Hypershock had other plans. The Hypershick team fitted a garden rake onto Hypershock, and literally whacked Dragon out of the air. I didn't expect the rake to actually work, and it was hilarious when it did. After that, Hypershock had Warrior Clan went at it for a bit until Warrior Clan was left unable to move.

I'm excited for next weeks fights. In the first quadrant we have Tombstone VS Brutus and Nightmare VS BETA. The Tombstone VS Brutus fight will be interesting because, well, Tombestone. Every fight with Tombstone is interesting, and Brutus actually proposes a threat to them. Nightmare VS BETA will be interesting because Nightmare is a very slim bot, so BETA will have to be crafty in order to win, and if Nightmare can get to the base of the hammer, it's lights out. In quadrant two we have Bronco VS Razorback and Minotaur VS Warhead. Bronco VS Razorback seems interesting since Bronco is, well, Bronco and Razorback has proved to be a very tricky robot. I'm more interested in Minotaur VS Warhead however, because this should prove to be a very interesting fight. Minotaur is very dangerous and hard to beat. However, Warhead has proved to be equally dangerous and very unpredictable. This fight is going to be interesting. In the third quadrant we have Red Devil VS Bombshell and Poison Arrow VS Hypershock. I really want to see Red Devil beat for what they did to Witch Doctor, and Bombshell has proven to be pretty dangerous. The Poison Arrow VS Hypershock fight should also prove interesting. Both are drum spinners, and I don't recall seeing a drum spinner fight another drum spinner. Also, Poison Arrow has a drone, and Hypershock has their rake. I doubt Poison Arrow would use their drone, but people make dumb decisions. Finally, quadrant four. In this quadrant we have Bite Force VS Chomp and Mega Tento VS Yeti. I don't know how Bite Force VS Chomp is going to go, because Bite Force has probably the best driver in the tournament, but their weapon might not hold up. Chomp has also proven to be pretty deadly, but since they constantly fall over, Bite Force may be able to take them out. Then there's Mega Tento VS Yeti. Yeti has shown that it is a very dangerous robot that you shouldn't take lightly, and Mega Tento has shown that it is easily pushed around and can be broken easily. I will be mad and upset if Yeti loses to Mega Tento.

Anyway, I've rambled on long enough. Enjoy the rest of your day!
  12. LHfunk
So back in May I made an entry about the second book I have thought of writing. Well, that has just kind of sat in my brain for a bit, until recently. A few days ago I checked out the anime Monster Musume and found it was pretty good. It's funny and entertaining. It's also an ecchi anime. I also started reading the manga, which is basically the same as the anime. To sum it up, basically it's the same as real life except there are species of half human creatures (like centaurs and lamias) exist and are attempting to integrate into human culture. The story follows of the protagonist who's name I can't spell who was accidentally made into a host for a lamia. Hilarious antics ensue where more half human girls end up living with him and they all attempt to seduce him. There's a bit more to it than that, but that's the best short summary I've got.

Anyway, on to my original point. I think I should have the kids all transform into these half human creatures. I think this would work better, since they could more easily blend into normal humans society.

I thought of a name for the book: Unhuman. You know, like Unmirrored? I think it could do with some work though. What do you guys think? (Please answer, it takes five seconds.)

Obviously spoilers, so if you don't want to see spoilers, don't read.

So the newest episode just finished and it was great. Plenty of great fights. No upsets for me this time. I was kinda hoping Ghost Raptor would win, but that was just because I happened to like Ghost Raptor more than Razorback. Everything else was either hoped for or expected.

Let's start with Escape Velocity VS Tombstone. I expected destruction and I got it. Tombstone absolutely destroyed Escape Velocity in about 45 seconds. Now onto Complete Control VS Warhead. Now, Complete Control is pretty good for a lifter bot. However, Warhead's new head made short work of them. After smashing them the pieces Warhead almost was knocked out, but pulled off a sweet new manuever where it held itself up on it's headpiece. It was pretty cool. Last but not least, SOW VS Poison Arrow. This fight I was rooting for Poison Arrow, and I chose the winning side. Both bots sped up their spinners to full speed and then collided. SOW flew across the arena and was knocked out. It was very cool and impressive, and I can't wait for more.

So the second of the qualifiers aired yesterday and it was great. So blah blah spoilers and whatnot.

Anyway, there was only one upset for me, though it wasn't very big. Team Wyachi brought SOW (Son of Wyachi) out of retirement and faced off against Ghost Raptor. I wanted Ghost Raptor to win, and they had a chance, but when they started to go fully offensive they messed themselves up and SOW beat them. However, Ghost Raptor was given wildcard status, which I am glad about. Also joining Ghost Raptor with wildcard status is Nightmare and Overhaul, both of which did very well but ended up being knocked out (Nightmare by Stinger and Overhaul by Cobalt). My three favorite fights were Witch Doctor VS Rotator, Lockjaw VS Yeti, and Brutus VS Moebius. I liked the Witch Doctor fight because Witch Doctor is my favorite and because they obliterated Rotator. They smashed it's wheel completely off, immobilizing it almost immediately. The Lockjaw VS Yeti fight was good for a few reasons. First reason: Lockjaw was made by a veteran player that won twice (I think) in the original Battlebots, while Yeti was made by a newcomer. Those fights are normally very good. Second reason: There was action constantly until the very end. Reason Three: Yeti did a very good job of smashing Lockjaw to bits. Yeti won by unanimous judge decision. Finally, the Brutus VS Moebius fight. The Moebius team has the second best costumes, and their entrance was great. Their bot was a dangerous full body spinner. However, Brutus had something extra. They had actual firing pistols on the sides of their bot that they immediately destroyed Moebius with. Moebius's motor blew itself up after Brutus shot it a few times.

All of these fights were great, and I'm very excited for the next round. Fingers crossed for Witch Doctor!

It's been a while since I made a blog entry post thing and so I decided now's a good time to make one. If for some reason you can't tell, this is about the second season of the reboot of Battlebots. Before I go on however, there will be spoilers, so if you haven't seen it and are planning on it, watch it.

Anyway, yesterday the first round of the qualifiers aired. It was very good, though I wish we could have watched all the fights (I really wanted to see Tombstone fight Black Ice). The ones we did get to watch were good though. There were only two big upsets for me. The Nightmare and Stinger fight (which we didn't get to see ) which Stinger won. I really wanted to watch Nightmare in action and I also wanted Nightmare to win. The second big upset was Disk O'Inferno and Chomp. I wanted Disk O'Inferno to win (I mean, how could you not with that name?) but the judges decided for Chomp, which I disagree with because while Chomp had some good hits in, Disk O'Inferno consistently hit and smashed Chomp around the arena. The only other fight that I was in any way annoyed about was Complete Control VS Bombshell. I don't like the team behind Complete Control after how they acted last year and Bombshell seemed like a good candidate. Bombshell's team also had a great sense of humor.

I can't wait for the next round of qualifiers. I don't know how it's lined up, but I want Witch Doctor to win. They would have had a good chance at winning last year if they had a way to flip themselves upright. This time I think they have something. Also, they have the best costumes and one of the coolest t-shirts.

Anyway, that's what I thought of episode one of season two of Battlebots! (Down below I'll put my idea for a fighting robot for those that are interested).

So yeah, if you've watched this show you've probably thought of making your own robot. While I have no easy way of doing this, I still have though of a pretty neat idea.

Anyway, that's that. Thanks for reading!

These are the notes that I have on my iPod that I've been taking since the start of this whole process. They are all of whatever I've come up with (that isn't actual writing). As you can probably tell, these are all very convoluted and some are much older (such as the fact that Alex is called Unnamed Female). So, that's that. Enjoy.

Also, the ; things are the dividers.

    Ideas: Boat chase scene with Teresa being knocked out; 1133 appearing somewhere; Order 66 appearing somewhere; Felix making an 88 miles per hour reference; Felix also making a Civ 5 reference; Felix dying but turning out to be alive in the sequel; Felix's "last words" are a reference to The Outsiders; Felix has a slingshot; Felix has slingshot ammo that explodes; There is a movie night where they have a box of terrible movie ripoffs, including: Cretaceous Park, Mission Improbable, Stair Wars: The Elevator Strikes Back, Ternimator To: Jugment Daay, Carpnado, Finding Emo; Teresa has a great repeating dream featuring mist and the mirror; Felix makes a G. I. Joe reference after asking what the mirror looks like; Felix gets embarrassed after explaining how to see "World Glitches" and leaves, leaving (Unnamed Female) to explain that he got really upset and almost cried after a fictional character died in his book; Something does something to vaguely annoy Felix and he says "YOU FOOLS DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'VE DONE." in a sarcastic, dramatic voice; Felix says, "In this world, IT'S SMILE OR BE SMILED!" and then Teresa and (Unnamed Female) stare at him blankly; (Unnamed Female) reveals she has a girlfriend in the real world when Teresa asks if she likes (Unnamed Male). Teresa says, "Oh. You don't seem very, well, gay." (Unnamed Female) says, "What, do you expect me to look like this?" and shows her a picture of person wearing a rainbow t-shirt, face paint, and flag. Teresa goes slightly red and says, "Well, uh, no but-" (Unnamed Female) cuts her off and says, "It's fine, I'm not stupid and sensitive. Here's a picture of my girlfriend." She shows Teresa a picture of a pretty Black girl; When Teresa tries to go into Felix's room, she knocks and he says, "No one sees the wizard!"; Felix has an all graphite pencil; Everyone is playing Mario Kart at one point; Felix is told he looks like a girl. He responds by saying, "Well, I'm a pretty one, right?"; Alex wants something with Felix, but Felix says, "Can't right now, sorry, in the middle of a heated internet debate on time travel." Alex says, "Of course you are. Well, I guess we could find Jadeyn. Let's go, Teresa."; Alex asks, "Did he get delivery?" Jade says no. Felix says, "What about Digiorno?"; "If I'm gonna die, I'm gonna die with a Sonic slushy in my hand!"; Spoons but with knives; Unicorn jacket for Felix; Still a better love story than Twilight joke; Dr. Scientist; Suddenly there came a shout of, “I came in like a wrecking ball!” and a large object swung past them. Upon further inspection, it turned out to be Felix;

I've been searching for this video for a while and I finally found it:

The actual song is pretty good by itself, I'd recommend listening to it.

So all I've done since the last entry is what I made five minutes ago:

Felix said, “No ma’m, I ate a chameleon and fell through the skylight.”

It's a stupid reference to Gravity Falls that I thought of. If I get around to writing another entry I'll post my even more jumbled notes.

So I keep seeing things about Supernatural becoming really sad and painful and I'm hoping that happens slowly. Or at least only having occasional spurts of pain like in Doctor Who. Anyway, Supernatural is pretty good show so far. I'm waiting for Cas to show up because now I'm really interested in what he does and his and Dean's supposed gayness.

So I have had a few ideas for other books, but one developed farther than the rest. The idea is that a group of kids is accidentally transformed into mythological creatures (so far I've got dragon, pegasus, unicorn, gryphon, and elf). My plan is for this series to run along Unmirrored and the two eventually converge and there is one big thing at the end. I decided to link them through two ways: One, a genetics company where the kids are transformed. Two, one of the characters in the second series is Alex's girlfriend.

One more thing: The point of this blog was to hear feedback and thoughts, So, what are your thoughts? I do want to know.

Thanks for reading and (hopefully) commenting!

Hello! I decided to just have a blog. Read the description and you'll have a basic understanding of how this is going to go down.

Anyway, I made this literally because I wanted to show everyone this picture:

(That's a bit larger than I thought it would be)

Anyway, some updates on things. I'm on season two of Supernatural. It's a good show. Intense, but good. I'm still waiting for Cas to show up. I don't know when he does. I'm also almost done with season two of Sword Art Online. It's also very good.

    That's all folks!

I wrote some more. Not much else to say. Writing is really, really hard.

“Whoa there Nelly, slow down,” Alex said. “I’ll answer your first few. According to Felix, this is supposedly an alternate world, what he says is the other side of a mirror. It’s supposed to be a better world where everyone is always happy, but as you saw, it’s not a very good world. The mirror, he says, is the connection between the two, and acts as a sort of portal. That’s all I really understand. You’d have to ask him to hear his whole theory.”
Teresa was still trying to process all that information so she went with an easy question: “Who’s Felix?”
Alexis said, “He’s our techy guy person. You know what, I think it’d be better if we started with introductions. So yeah, I’m Alex. I came here about seven months ago. I’m from Florida, near the Miami area. Over in the kitchen is Nick, He’s our sort of leader person. I’ll let him introduce himself.”
Alex walked to the kitchen and Teresa followed slowly and cautiously. Before they got to the kitchen though, Nick came through the doorway. He was tall, probably around 5 foot 10, and black, with dark brown hair and eyes. He was about the average weight, but he was built strongly; definitely what you’d expect the leader to look like.
His voice, however, was definitely more like a combination of a comedic relief character and Samuel L Jackson.. “Hi there Teresa. I’m Nick, obviously.” He smiled at her, and she stared.
After five seconds, she realized she was staring and quickly said, “How did you know my name?”
“Well, Alex here isn’t exactly quiet.” Nick and Alex both laughed, and Teresa smiled a little.
Nick stopped laughing and continued his introduction. “Well, there’s not much you really need to know about me. I’m pretty good at martial arts and I’m an excellent cook. I’m 17, from South Carolina. I came through the mirror when my family was on vacation. Fell right into when I tripped down the stairs at our hotel. Hurt a lot.”

So I wrote down a little humor bit and though I'd might as well share it since I haven't added an entry in a while.

This goes under the heading of Humor bits my parents would probably disapprove of (also, they're getting ready to play paintball):

As Alex, Teresa, and Jade were getting their equipment set, Alex started telling a story.
“One time when we were playing, Felix jumped down from a platform yelling Scotland and shot me in the ass.” said Alex, grinning wickedly.
Teresa looked apprehensive. “What did you do?” She asked.
Alexis replied,“ Turned around and shot him in the dick.”
    “Ouch.”

I'm pretty much out of things for other entries, so you guys can ask what you'd like to know or see and I'll do something with that.
  24. LHfunk
So, I need help. I have everything for my book except a beginning. I want some help with ideas. I want Teresa to have to wait a while before going into the mirror. I want her to just experience her life normally, but with odd visions of the mirror cropping up randomly. I'm not sure what should drive Teresa to touch the mirror, though I'm thinking a bad storm. If anyone would like to help, comment some ideas or suggestions. Thanks in advance!
