      That's the problem, maybe you shouldn't have. You say those Pony memes to them, which he obviously dosen't catch on and is probably not interested in. It makes him feel awkward and it makes him feel like you force this Brony Culture on him. It makes him feel uncomfortable.

      That wasn't my intention... you really think I may have come on to strong? It's confusing, because the sort of person he is, I know he'd enjoy the show. I just don't see why my being a fan of MLP, makes him act so distant and indifferent around me.

      I don't think it's you being an MLP fan is the problem. The problem is probably the fact, that you sometimes make these comments and they obviously make him uncomfortable. Maybe you shouldn't force him to become a brony and just leave at that, because you risk losing your friendship.
