    Awesome day today as I learned how to de-solder several circuit board components including a capacitor, resistor and an IC chip. And the sticky Flux on my hands to go with it!

      Nah, all it takes is a nice pull and a soldering iron, for 2 leaded components you don't need a desoldering tool. And even if so, even for ICs you usually get away with one without a heated tip...
