  1. I hope they explore Maretonia which Princess Cadance and Shining Armor mention in the newest episode.

It would be nice to see Maretonia. That and Saddle Arabia.

Maretonia and Saddle Arabia definitely need some attention; as do the lands of the zebras. Kinda surprised they weren't on the map.

Also, no Thicket...no deer kingdom. :(

    (Yes yes, I know, comics...but still... >_> )

Thicket was beautiful though. It would be nice to see it in the show
  2. As you said, she isn't a native. She was born a pegasi and eventually became an alicorn. There's no way genetically she could have become a Crystal pony forever. Sure they all became a crystal pony at one point but only when the empire had a hard reset. Eventually, anyone not born a crystal pony regained their original form. She just so happened to adopt the Crystal Empire as her own kingdom since she was the best pony for the job.

Errrr....but there is one thing I'm highly curious about. I know the IDW comics doesn't cross into the series....buuuut any of you guys think that Hope will make an appearance and maybe claim the throne since she was destined to become the next princess of the crystal empire?

Actually, I think it's possible for Hope to appear in the show. I remember last year, Meghan Mccarthy said that she would consider having characters from the comics come into the show.

  3. What is in parenthesis under mount everhoof?

Thats a good question. It's very small and difficult to read.

a hippocampus city: as in a city that's inhabited by hipoocampus instead of sea ponies. (Hippocampus essentially being mermaid horses having the front two legs of a horse and the bottom  half a fish tail, in comparison to Sea ponies that have flipper arms instead of horse limbs). (compare the above image to this image)sig-4161881.mlp_seapony_adoptable_auctio

I'm saying That i'd be happy to see an underwater city so long as its filled with hippocampis and not sea ponies.

I see. Well, I would certainly be interested in seeing how our ponies get there.
  4. SHINING ARMOR AND BEST PRINCESS ARE HAVING A FOAL!!!!!

    - Pinkie Pie, don't forget. Losing a friend's trust is the fastest way to lose a friend FOREVER!!!!!

    - Lol, who was that, Fluttershy's grandpa?

    - Featherweight gets a speaking role, didn't see that one coming.

    - First time seeing the CMC with thier new cutie marks!!!

    - Derpy and Dinky. Enough said.

-Spike burned Shining Armor's mint comics. XD

-Twilight is going to be an Aunt!

I wonder when were going to see the new foal? Season 6?

  5. We saw the dragons in S2, but that was a MIGRATION. which means there are multiple places that dragons can live at, and its possible the area the dragons were all at was merely a breeding grounds that's only used very sparingly, possibly only once in years and years.

As for the map's numbers of uses, yeah, it is kind of strange isn't it? Season 4 used the key episode thing 8 times (The second episode of Princess twilight sparkle introduced the box, there were 5 mane six solo episodes leading up to the two part finale for twilight's key episode), while there's been less use of the map or a meta-plot this season. And the map seems highly unrelated to the finale's upcoming plot for how they'll solve things too.

Now that you mention it, it does make sense that there would be multiple dragon places.

I honestly thought they would use the map 6-8 times in Season 5. There was even a trailer where Brian Lenard said something along the lines of "Places that you may have heard ponies reference in previous episodes, that you've always wondered what it's like, were going there, this season." Ah well, I'm not that upset over it. Like I said, maybe they'll use it more in S6.

  6. I wonder if the episode The Hoofields and the McColts will take place in one of these new areas.

Anywise the expanded map is a great addition as I am always for world expanding and lore building, and hopefully Season 6 will explore more of these areas as well.

I was thinking the same thing. I don't think they actually said where Twilight and Fluttershy are getting called to and that episode seems like the last opportunity in Season 5 for them to explore a new area.

Oh I think we will get to see those areas! They have an "exploring equestria" line of toys, and the Map is basically just a deus ex machina plot coupon to tell them to go places they'd have NO earthly reason to ever go to.

So yeah, S6 I can see them traveling all over equestria! (Sadly, I think the dragon area is only going to be explored in that picture book :(

I hope they use the map more than 4 times in Season 6, even if it's only 5-6 times. Also, didn't we already see the Dragon area in Season 2 with Dragon Quest?
  7. Let's hope so, world building is one of the things I find very interesting in a series of anykind, Ex: Elder Scrolls, D&D (My Own of Course), and MLP.

I love world building too! I almost exploded with excitement when watching the S5 premiere and "The Lost Treasure of Giffonstone," just because of the amount of world building and lore in those episodes.
  8. As many of you who already own the "Art of Equestria" book already know. The official map of Equestria has been updated to include areas such as Griffonstone, Our Town and even the rock farm. It also has areas we've never seen before, like "Luna bay" and "Bug Bear Territory." Do you think we'll see all of these in Season 6 and beyond? I still want to see Fillydelphia and Hollow Shades.

  9. "Amending Fences," "Crusaders of the lost Mark," "Rarity investigates," "Tanks For the Memories." Pretty much all of Season 5 is amazing. Or, you can just start by showing him map episodes like "The Cutie Map Parts 1 + 2," "The Lost Treasure of Griffonstone," "Made in Manehattin" and "The Hooffields and Mccolts" when it comes out.

  10. Whew.... Now that I've calmed down a bit, I can give my thoughts on this episode.

    - Nice callback to "The Show Stoppers" with the cutie mark chart.

    - Lots of great songs in this one! 6 in total.

    - Finally! Some character development for Silver Spoon. She was always one of my least favorite characters because she was just DT's mindless lackey before. However, she finally stood up to DT and grew as a character.

    - Diamond Tiara's Mom kinda reminds me of Principal Cinch.

Now, let's move on to the bigger things:

    - Diamond Tiara finally gets reformed and she gets the courage to stand up to her mother! All it took was a friend to show her the way (or 3 friends, as the case may be.)

    - And finally, after 5 years, the Cutie Mark Crusaders find out what they're meant to do in life. Their special talent was helping others find out their special talent. Thus, the Cutie Mark Crusaders aren't disbanded and they get to keep looking for cutie marks. This gives them a continuing purpose, so no one should worry about them becoming "irrelevant."

Overrall, this was one of my favorite episodes and I love how it felt a lot like "Magical Mystery Cure," but for the CMC instead. (It was a musical episode that tied 2 stroylines together, ending in a monumental change in the story.)

  11. I've been one of the biggest Season 5 fanboys so far. I really love the direction they're taking it with the castle and the map. I haven't seen a single underwhelming episode this season, (I'm one of the few who actually like Princess Spike and Party Pooped.) We haven't heard many songs yet and I really thought they would use the map more, but I'm seriously starting to think this is the best season!! :D

  12. Tirek if he was at full power. Also, looks aren't everything, the writers can create a better villain one day without having him/her be "big and scary." I'm perfectly happy with Starlight Glimmer being the S5 finale villain, even though on the outside, she's just a small, pink unicorn.

Edit: Ok, so she's techinically More of a light grayish heliotrope. :P

  13. "Amending Fences" is my favorite episode, so maybe I can help. It's as simple as Moondancer considering Twilight a friend, but Twilight not really thinking twice about MoonDancer. So, when Twilight realized how important she was to Moondancer, she felt terrible about what she did to her and wanted to make it up to her. Also, Princess Celestia was never clear about who to make friends with, she just simply said "make some friends." She never told Twilight whether she should make new friends in Ponyville or work on her relationships in Canterlot. Hope this helped!

  14. Not bad, but not the best either. That stage didn't exactly look like an afternoon project, so the "little things can make a big difference" moral is spoiled a bit. But at least the props they used were nice and crappy looking

Yeah, that is an interesting concept. Twilight is too powerful for her own good, and the map knows it. Makes me think of Celestia, and how she hardly ever does anything herself because that would rob everypony else of valuable learning experiences.

I was hoping their solution would be to call Twilight and ask her to come fix it for them. She was so bored, she would have loved it. But I guess this really is better, since otherwise the neighborhood ponies wouldn't have seen that a little effort can make a big difference. I hope some future episode focuses on Twilight figuring out what good she can do between map summonings.

Not quite! She bought that new hat for AJ from him.

And speaking of the hat, I was torn between horror and laughing my head off when she ran it over with the lawnmower. It all happened so fast :( But definitely horror when Rarity just threw it in the trash like it was nothing. But I guess this means that it's not a specific special hat, and just one of the many from the hat and bow closet.

I wish they would have gone to visit Applejack's aunt and uncle. Even for a short scene that doesn't accomplish anything, just while they were searching for their friendship problem.

But overall it was pretty enjoyable. Nice to see Coco again, and this explains why she wasn't used in Canterlot Boutique. Not enough Rarity/Coco shipping though :pout:

True, Rarity DID make up for stealing his business in the end. Also, I agree about Aunt and Uncle Orange. I really thought they would be in this episode.
