I would like to so a pegasus become a villain. Now, the main issue would be how they would make the character interesting with a good plot.

I was prepared to critique something in summary rather than almost-scene. But that is okay ^^

Well, I suggest that you put it into summary first. The plot seems alright, but I should see your writing style first before I pass any mature judgement

It would be easier to critique if you wrote some in proper prose than bullet points, the writing style and abilities are really important to any story. How you portray your situation and describe circumstances really make or break stories as a whole.

This is a story idea that I came up with after having watched the finale of season 6. My plot isn't nearly finished but I thought I would get my ideas on paper or on screen. I'd love feedback of any kind. Tell me what you like or what you don't like. A good writing with take constructive criticism.

Emry is a Queen Changeling. Mind you she isn’t ‘THE’ Queen Changeling. She is Queen Chrysalis’ right wing and the brains behind all the world dominating plots that were played out across Equestria. This is a story behind the story of the expansion and demise of the Changeling Swarm.

I personally wouldn't mind finding out a little more as to where Spike came from. Though I do agree his mysterious parentage adds to his personality. I'm assuming that dragon eggs are really rare. So far all the dragons we have seen in the shows have been adults and teenagers. Spike is still considered a baby dragon. The chances of his parents looking for Spike are pretty slim do to the independent nature of most dragons.

How do you think "the four" will go about rescuing the others?

I really enjoyed seeing new background ponies. The creators finally got some new hairstyles, coat color schemes, and body types being displayed on the show. LOVE IT!

I normally don't watch the teaser clip prior to an episode airing, but I couldn't help myself this week when I saw Starlight in the thumbnail! She's been 1 of my favorite new additions to season 6. I loved her appearances in The Crystalling, No Second Prances, A Hearth's Warming Tale, and The Times They Are A Changeling. Kelly Sheridan really delivers in the voice department. Glim's is 1 of the most expressive characters in the show. I just love her voice !

 

The clip was very intriguing. I love that the show is adding incantations to more powerful spells now! I wonder why she has to "brain-wash" the mane 5? All my questions will be answered in a few days I guess. Saturday can't come any sooner !

 

It appears that an overwhelming majority of users above me loathe Starlight or downright want her away from the spotlight as much as possible. I guess i'm in the very tiny minority because I enjoy all aspects of her character. I wonder if there are others who share the same opinion as me? I'm probably blinded by my optimistic outlook though so who knows at this point .  

I agree with your view of Starlight. Honestly, I think the main reason a bunch of fans don't like her is because the writers didn't smoothly transition her into the season. I personally feel like the writers kind of pushed her off to the side. I want more of her, so I believe this will be a very fun episode. One thing I know for a fact is that the mane 5 plue Twilight are going to be pissed when they fall out of her trance to discover they had been mind controlled by Starlight. I wonder where Spike will be in all of this. Maybe out with Twilight?

Thanks! I kind of based the design from Celestia in "Lullaby for a Princess Animation" video.

Hey guys, so I am starting to come up with personality and appearance ideas for two characters I want to create a fanfic for. The fanfic will be a retelling of beauty and the beast but with original characters. The plot will be generally similar to the fairytale but I hope to bring a ton of twist and turns to the retelling.

The "Beauty" will be played by a female pegasus, whom is really attached to her wings. I am a little stuck as to what I want her personality to be. I don't want her to be a weak defenseless pony but at the same time I don't want her to super outgoing. An in between personality of those two I think would work nicely. I want "Beauty" to have a job that makes her use her wings often but not in a super obvious role (aka: the wonderbolts). My first idea was maybe she was a bird watcher/recorder.

The "Beast" will be played by a male earth pony that has been cursed, turned into a bloodthirsty pony with cat paws for this front legs. Personality wise I see the "Beast" being a very cruel and manipulative pony. He only looks out for his best interests. He has a sick humor, letting it wear off on any creature that has the misfortune of being nearby.

Both characters still could use some personality work. Their appearance is currently a big issue. I don't particularly want "Beauty" to be downright gorgeous, but I do want her to have a unique look. For "Beast" I want his appearance to be downright terrifying but again I want a more unique take on his evil appearance.

If you guys have any ideas or recommendations for me that you would like to share, that would be much appreciated!

I think the mirror is what allows both worlds to communicate in the native language of that dimension. Now I want to point out that I believe the two world dimensions still have there own individual written languages. In the first Equestria Girls Twilight tries to sign her name on the ballot (with her pencil in her mouth) and Pinkie Pie "read" it saying she had really bad hand writing. When Sunset Shimmer pops in to look at it you can really tell how bad Twlight's handwriting was. Then Sunset Shimmer says "Where is this Twilight Sparkle." She was like the only one able to read it. I'm guessing because Twilight was writing it in the Equestrian language.

I am thinking of writing my first MLP fanfic with a unique pony version of Beauty and the Beast fairytale. The "Beast" would be played by a male earth pony and the "Beauty" would be played by a pegasus. I was thinking there could be some magic in the story but none that either characters really understood or had complete control of.

Anyway, my main question is what would make a good earth pony villain? As the fandom has shown most of the evil characters have been unicorns, hence why I want to make the villain unique. With the lack of magic what can I use to make the "Beast" character fresh and new. One of the ideas I have for him is make him cursed, so his appearance changes a little. I thought maybe he could have the front legs of a lion or big cat.

@ Everyone Else: I am starting my last year of high school in a week. And on top of that I hopefully will be starting a new job. So with those two things in mind please be patient with me getting your characters done. I am thinking about them, so don't fret.

I hope they will have an episode that shows what the girls were up to while the guys had GUYS NIGHT!

I can see him becoming more powerful with the power of friendship on his side, but not so much when it comes to consuming love and using it for power.

I would say the changelings are more relatable to bees than ants. If you aren't familiar with the rankings of each, then look them up. It is actually pretty fascinating. But to answer the question, I'm going to say there are male and female changelings. That way they aren't be sexist. Just maybe they can't reproduce. The thing you got to remember that MLP is a kids show so I think the writers would want to avoid that question of how their characters reproduce at all costs. LOL!

Queen Chrysalis I think is pretty much the mother of all the changelings. Though I'm guessing the raising of the changeling hatchlings would be shared among the older changelings, such as maybe a pair adopting a baby or two to raise as their own. But that is just a hunch. Do remember that Thorax said he was raised by an evil queen (aka his mom). A lot of these questions will be answered, I hope, with another episode or two dedicated to changelings.
