My Hopes for the Pony of Shadows:

    • Gender - Male
      • We already have a large cast of female pony villains (check my signature), so why not have a male pony villain. Sombra doesn't really count in my opinion because he didn't really interact with the main six, either verbally or physically. And the Flim Flam Brothers are antagonists, not villains.
    • Pony Species - Non-Unicorn
      • Don't get me wrong, unicorns are great to an extent. But the writers have overused unicorns as villains. I would die to have a villain not be a unicorn. Plus if the Pony of Shadows is either an earth pony or pegasus, it would be more impressive for them to have entrapped Starswirl and the others. Heck, maybe the Pony of Shadows is its own species.
    • Powers - ???
      • I'm honestly not really sure about this topic. I guess it depends on whether or not the Pony of Shadows is its own species, if the pony is cursed, or if they obtained some power on their own to turn into shadows. I really don't know. Any of those options I listed would work for me. I guess it would be cool if the Pony of Shadows could shift from one shadow to the next or if it could appear in shadows out of nothing.
    • Evil Motivation - Rejection/Evil Desire
    • Location of Confrontation - Castle of the Two Sisters
      • I think it would just make sense to bring back the Pony of Shadows in the original point of origin to it being mentioned in the series.

Who are the Pillars of Old Equestria supposed to be? I'm thinking that they are the legend ponies introduced earlier in the season. It would just make sense to give the audience a little background on the characters before the finale.

Celestia and Luna better get some good reunion scenes with Starswirl, when he is released from captivity. I mean, they have a lot more history together than Twilight does.

When it comes to the Pony of Shadows I am really hoping it DOES NOT turn out to be King Sombra coming back. Sombra is Shadow in Spanish. (Is there a connection there? Maybe...) It would just be a huge flop for me. King Sombra has already had his chance, like twice, and he doesn't need another. Sombra is DEAD to me!

  3. Pshah! There will plenty of returning characters to see even if they appear as cameos or have a short speaking role. The show is mainly about the mane 6 and Spike because...they are the main characters.

Just from the trailers alone I saw small appearances from Starlight, Trixie, Bulk Biceps, Derpy, Lyra, Vinyl, Octavia, Carrot Top, Party Favor and The Wonder Bolts. There really is nothing to be concerned about when it comes to reappearing pony characters. It is a Friendship Festival after all. ;)

Meh. I'll see when it will be on streaming.

Do you think It'll be good enough ?

If you are referring to the MLP movie, yes I think it will be worth it with all the new characters, species, and locations. I believe I read somewhere that season 8 will pick up where it left off in the movie. So it will be important to watch.

What would add a dark, unique, and unexpected twist in a retelling of the beauty and the beast fairytale?

  5. In our world horses and ponies are differentiated through height. An equine is considered a pony if it is less than 14.2 hands (4.73 ft) in height, while an equine is considered a horse if it is taller than 4.73 feet in height.

Does that mean, technically the ponies are really horses in MLP? Or are they just called ponies, while ignoring the definition of ponies in our world to make it more likeable to the intended audience? I'm just trying to wrap my head around this concept.

With technical definitions aside, are horses even a thing in the MLP Universe? The only reference to horses that I remember is the CMC's song "Hearts as Strong as Horses". Yet, the term "horse" hasn't been used anywhere else in the series as far as I can remember.

  6. Well Pharynx was one of the top changeling guards if not the captain of the changeling guard. I would assume that Pharynx will take on responsibility as the captain of the guard or act as Thorax's second in command. It just makes sense with the kind of relationship Pharynx has with Thorax, his dedication towards protecting the hive, and his new appearance. I would be very surprised if that wasn't a part of the writers' plan for him.

  7. One of my most favorite episodes that isn't a season opener or closer is Castle Mania. I just loved how the mane six where visiting the castle of the two sisters for totally different reasons only to end up scaring one another. I enjoyed viewing the old castle ruins and let's not forget about the possibility of The Pony of Shadows being real!

I hope the rumors are true about us getting to see The Pony of Shadows in season 7 sometime. That would be really epic.

  8. My name is Amanda. Though my family shorten my name to "Manda" due to just plain laziness. :please:

In a school setting I often go by my last name. *Hint: My last name is a character in "The Hunger Games" who befriends Katniss only to die later on in the first book.

Come, come... I am sure he will appear eventually again. :D

I mean, it really isn't that big of a deal. But still, the bird deserves better.

Not much potential for plot with him, methinks. Really weird that he hasn't made at least minor appearances though, that is harsh! Even having him randomly in the background in the castle would be enough for me.

Just show him sleeping on a perch or something.

Where has Owlowscious been for the past two seasons? We did see a cameo of him in Season 7 Premiere as a picture on Twilight's mirror, however, it didn't give us much insight into what he is up to. Why do you think we haven't seen Owlowscious for over two seasons? Will we see him soon?

My thinking is he mainly helps Twilight in her nighttime excursions, mainly due to owls being nocturnal. Maybe the writers are trying to be more realistic when Owlowscious is out and about. The show hasn't had very many night episodes for a while, so that might be the real cause for Owlowscious' absence.
