Seeing as how I have a friend in here, think I'll give this a try myself. Name: Wally Slick (Actual name is Wallace Smith, but he thought it sounded boring.) Hero name: Sign Punk Gender- Male Age-20 Power-Is able to use road signs to invoke powers associated with the type. In particular, he can use stop signs to make a barrier around himself that stops all inertia in an area (Give or take, it doesn't stop all motion, as long as they're slow enough.). slow signs to decrease the movement speed in an area, and one way signs to only allow movement in one direction. These forces also affect him, and he can't control who it affects, just if the effect is active. There's also a limit to how big the effect is, so creatures or objects that are too big won't be affected, and if something has enough strength or speed, they can overcome the effect entirely. He's also trained himself to be observant and fast, as well as using jet powered roller blades... thugh those are more accessories and trained abilities then powers. Personality- Wally is a bit full of himself, thinking his power is more impressive than others, and will run his mouth off at anyone who disagrees. In reality, he's a bit of a coward with a heart of gold, as he genuinely cares about being a hero and helping others. Ultimately, he likes to put on a big show, even though his main strategy is hit and run, before finishing off his opponent while they're weak. Effective, if not glamorous. Appearance- Wally is skinny, and about 5'11. Though he has some toned musculature, ultimately he looks rather gangly. This is emphasized by his mohawk and nose, lip, brow and ear piercings, giving him a threatening look. His hair is dyed red, while his tongue is bizarrely long(Also pierced). Further, even though he uses rollerblades, he wears no safety equipment, so his knees and elbows almost always have bandaids on them, along with scrapes and bruises all over his arms and legs. His costume consists of short, baggy shorts, a grey tank top and a black jacket with the sleeves ripped off and several punk band pins placed on it. I hope this is satisfactory. (Edit!) An addendum to his powers. He doesn't have to use only legal road signs. He can use fake one, or objects that look like the as long as they have the correct color and letters. It also doesn't have to be made of metal. It can be painted onto a surface, and it will work. However, smaller they are, the easier they are to use, but the less power he can get out of them. The bigger they are, the more power, but the harder he needs to concentrate.

Recently, I've designed a character that, when put on paper, didn't exactly come out as I imagined her. Because of this, I'd like some advice on how to improve her design and colors. This is Nirvana Mind. Her talent is her psychic power, as well as her enlightened disposition. She's of a race known as the Ponibillo, and underground dwelling pony race with bioluminescent manes and tails(And feathers). They tend to have a duller color palette that becomes brighter on a certain spot on their bodies. Her cutiemark is supposed to be a brain with an aura around it.

Heh heh heh. Oh boy. Lets begin with my third OC for MLP, Aqua Fortis: Even as a foal, Aqua was a genius, able to learn and retain information quickly. He earned his cutiemark after completing a science project, which was a chemistry project involving his name sake(Under adult supervision.). He graduated elementary school early, but because of this, he missed out on learning valuable social skills. Not only that, but because he skipped several grades, he had been denied information he would need at higher grades. This resulted in no small amount of stress, as well as him struggling to adapt mentally to being the odd fish out. Unfortunately, he could not handle all the pressure and folded, his grades dropping and resulting in some accusing him of having cheated in the first place. He lost most of the respect of the school and even his parents. Needless to say, he become quite nihilistic and uncaring, dragging his way through school into adulthood. His apathetic attitude continued further, though eventually he made an effort to go to college, if for no other reason than to get away from his nagging perents. Thankfully, he managed to make some friends here that helped him out of his funk, if at least a little. Once he graduated his his course, he got a pharmacist license and opened up a pharmacy in ponyville, mostly so he wouldn't have to see his perents again. At this point,, besides his work, he's also trying to work past his pessimism and enjoy himself, though he's very shy, hiding it behind a grumpy exterior. At the same time, he'll poke fun at his act to give some levity, playing up the grump act for humor. Now, this guy has been through several iterations, and this is his latest, wanting to go for a child genius who had too much pressure to take at a young age and couldn't handle it. Also, his colors are sort of meant to be less appealing, as I wanted to evoke a chemical appearance with his colors.

Thank you for your feedback. This REALLY helps me with setting up her backstory. Infact, having time to think it over, I've made a few changes. First of all, her name was originally Azure Comet, as her color reminded her father of a comet he once saw. She changed her name later down the line because... well, it sounded cool to her, and that her middle name is Trevor(After her grandfather on her mother's side.) Also, because she figured a bit of word play where if she took out the or in Trevor, reverse it, and put the A in her name at the start, it makes Avert. Thus, Avert Calamity.(As you can guess, she's a bit of a dork.) As for her talent, yeah. When she first saw the comet, she wanted to know about it and turned to divination magic. When she attempted to use the spell, however, she ended up seeing past events in her immediate area. In particular, the day she saw the comet. When she such a thing was even possible, she wanted to master the magic to see through time and space. Though, I have been considering changing the ankh to a crystal of some sort. Maybe an amethyst to match her mane. Once again, thank you for you feedback. It's really helped me nail down her character and backstory.

THank you for your feedback. I've been considering giving him a different eye color. In particular, something close to brown or amber. Now, time for my second Pony ever: Azure Calamity. Azure was born to an earth pony mother and unicorn father, the mother being a baker and the father being an astronomer. As such, Azure grew up loving both Baking and astronomy, though her love of the stars is what got her a cutiemark. When she was eight, her father and mother took her to see a comet above her town's sky. This inspired her to study much of the mythical aspects of the stars and the world, becoming infatuated with sometimes kitschy things such as crystals. As she grew older, she became wiser to the lore and stories behind particular objects that are told to hold mysticism. As she studied more, she began to delve into divination magic as a way of learning about the histories of places and artifacts. At the same time, she would show her make reports about her finding as school work, which earned her quite a few friends, and several bullies that made fun on her for her obsession, as well as her appearance(She is a bit of a chubby mare.). Still, she grew up rather happily, and once she moved out of her home town, she's opened up her own divination service, as well as a side job as a baker. Her cutiemark represents her fascination with mysticism and the unknown, as she was inspired by the comet.

Hello. Seeing this topic, I figure I could give it a shot. I value any feedback I can be given. I'll start with my very first character, Drifting Fall. His cutiemark represents his love of philosophy. Not so much good and evil, but rather passion and fury matched with calm and introspection. Drift was born in Las Pegasus, being the male in a pair of twins, with his other twin his sister. Though not exactly rich, his family was well off enough. Growing up, he had an innate charisma and charm, in addition to getting good grades that made teacher and students like him. However, this gave him an enlarged ego, resulting in him looking down on those who were unpopular. In short, he became something of a bully, and with no one to rein him in, he would talk down to and belittle others. Eventually, he ended up insulting a foal one too many times, and the foal retaliated by attacking him. Drift wash more shocked than hurt by the hit, and he cowered as the foal, through tears, screamed at him in rage. It was at this point that Drift’s ego was cracked, and he began to see his wrongs. Talking with his perents also helped him realise that, indeed words hurt. Though, a bit scared and sleep deprived, Drift mustered up his courage to apologize to the pony who he pushed too hard. However, he was surprised again when the other foal apologise to him instead. After a bit of talking, the two made up, and since then, Drift made an effort to not talk down to others. It also him him aware to many new ideas, and he began to question many things that he thought were absolute truths. It gave him perspective, and from that perspective, her earned his cutiemark. At the same time, he became aware of the wrongs around him, and in his heart he felt discontent for those who would go out of their way to hurt others. even more so, that they didn’t seem to care, being willfully ignorant towards others because of their privilege or their own selfish ways. Growing up, he did his best to live by what believed was right, though circumstances shaped his ideals as they would anyone else. Besides his ideals, he also took to cooking quite well, finding chef work enjoyable. As such, he now looks to own his own restaurant and make cooking his lifelong career.

I'm rather new to this site, but i'd figure i'd have a go at it. Think i'll start of with one of my characters who hasn't gotten much love lately, Lavender Swirl For now, I just want some critique on her design. For her backstory, I'm still working on that.
