@King ClarkA number line is something you graph numbers on, 0 is always the middle, on the left is negative, on the right, is positive, rational is any number that can be written as a simple fraction and is used in everyday life, irrational numbers are numbers that cannot be written as a perfect square nor as a simple fraction and cannot be seen in every day life.

@Trottermare Galamane (clapping emojis*) HONEY, it is not a perfect square, that's what I've been trying to say, but the issue with my equation wasn't so much the -3, it was the exponent, meaning, yes it would envelope itself, but, cannot be written as a simple fraction, the square root of -3 is not complete, it is simply a non-terminating non-repeating decimal.

The square root of any number can be calculated in and of itself, it's still a real number as it can be found on the numberline with itself, can it not?
Answer me this, Can the square root of -3 be found on the numberline? Yes or no? Do not calculate, just think, because the answer in my head is pretty solid.

The square root itself is valid, as it can still be found on the number line, the issue was the exponent, because you can't carry over a negative that's already been squared, it's physically impossible.
