Here No Longer

Undertale is one of the most overrated games over made and its fanbase constantly shows us why.

@Kyoshi I've never played the actual game, though it seems absurdly basic, like there's nothing really to it mechanically speaking. But since his inclusion in Smash everyone's been yelling and screaming about how he's actually a thing in the game and talking about him like he's an actual new character (which he's not, but BANJO IS, and he doesn't get NEARLY the attention he deserves...). 

@Angus DelaneyI've not played it but I've watched it extensively and a friend of mine did a playthrough as well which he showed me and yeah, it is incredibly simplistic for an RPG, it basically has no replayability whatsoever and if you watched a playthrough on Youtube, then you've seen literally everything the game has to offer. The music and atmosphere can be awesome at times, but that's about as far as I'll go in terms of praise.

If it was a game that wasn't treated like a god by its fans then I could easily ignore it completely. Instead we have things like the fans thinking it deserved the award of best RPG of 2015. No joke, people were legit pissed off that it didn't win when it is barely an RPG at all. To me, Undertale has no place in Smash so I guess I am at minimum glad Sans didn't take up a real character slot, that would've sucked hard. Like you said, he's just a Mii skin, nothing more, but the Undertale fandom like it do has to make sure everyone thinks that a skin is the hypest shit on the planet, because Undertale.
