My manager keeps telling me I’ll be manager here one day, but somehow I don’t really believe him.
They did offer me a management position to their other place 3 1/2 hours away for abysmal pay, and not willing to increase it. So I didn’t take it.
Then they hire some other guy to do it, then suddenly they offer him a better deal than they were willing to give me.
Like what?
I feel sometimes that they just don’t respect me, or trust me in such positions. And if that’s the case I wish they’d just tell me. Not as if that would hurt my feelings. It’s pretty common that people don’t respect me, so what difference would it make?
It’s what I get for not going to college. I should go. As if I know what I’d want to do anyway. Something aviation related I know that. I’m not cut out for anything else.
Anyways, I’m sorry. I’m just rambling. Goodnight guys. I love y’all

@Samurai Equine I have no idea to be honest. Not really sure how I could prove this happened anyway if it were illegal.

I guess not. Legally, double standards like that aren't allowed. You can't offer a promotion with a better pay to one employee and then not make the EXACT SAME OFFER to another based on gender, race, or any other factors like that. It'd discrimination. But you might be right, they might try to weasel out of any legal disputes with he-said, she-said logic. They might even argue that if you had accepted the position, they would have given you a raise afterwards. (Not saying if they actually would or not, but they might use that as their defense.)
Sorry you're not being treated with the respect you deserve.
Have you considered looking for job elsewhere?

@Samurai Equine I have thought about it. Before covid there was a unionized job at an Air Force Base an hour away that I considered.
Just hard to leave. I’ve been here 9 years, the people I work with are great, my manager likes me, and I’m pretty happy here. It’s really just my employers I don’t like.
