funnest lil sequence in my chap so far:

Surprise, unable to contain herself, flutters onto Danny’s back, sitting on him side saddle style.

“Giddy up Danny!” she squeaks between laughs.

“Neeigh!” Danny rears back, galloping his hands like a startled pony.

The silly sound causes the herd to laugh even harder. Few of them understand that this is the noise ponies make in Danny’s homeland, but Firefly, who had visited there recognised the sound and guffaws.

This latter nudges her friend, “Told you Medley, that’s the sound ponies make there.”

“Hah! Well you wouldn’t catch me making such a silly noise,” the turquoise pony snorts.

Masquerade and Paradise, expecting the display and anticipating the effect it would have on their audience wait indulgently for their audience to return to them. However, Masquerade – mindful of the late hour – clops her hooves together tries to bring things to a close, but is not helped by the antics of Surprise.

“Such a good horsey.” Surprise, enjoying the laughs she is getting from the crowd, continues her mprovised rider and pony routine. “Do you want a carrot?”

She mimes holding a carrot to Danny’s mouth, which he pretend-chomps on, provoking more mirth.

“Ahem!” Paradise coughs.

Danny, who is also enjoying the risible role, makes a whickering and snorting noise.

Surprise leans in to Danny’s face as if she’s trying to understand him. “Oh, if only ponies could talk like us humans?” Surprise says in a sing-song sighing voice and shakes her head, winking at the audience, to more laughs.

Paradise rolls her eyes and tries to catch Cherries Jubilee’s attention, but the latter mare has been taken in by the physical comedy and is doubled over, gasping with laughter.
