  1. I doubt McCarthy stepping down as story editor had any impact on them leaving. Amy Keating Rogers notably did say she left because she wanted to work at Disney on Star Darlings and MA Larson was writing a book at the time with Pennyroyal Academy. And Corey Powell was already gone after season 4, before McCarthy stepped down at the end of season 5. Plus, Dave Polsky did stay a bit longer after McCarthy stopped story editing, writing in season 6 and he did say he only left because he was showrunning Hanazuki at that point. So I doubt the writers leaving were impacted by McCarthy not being story editor. So how'd Lewis/Songco fare as story editors in season 7? Overall thread: Wasn't McCarthy still a writer on several episodes of season 6 with Flutter Brutter, The Fault In Our Cutie Marks, 28 Pranks Later, Where the Apple Lies, and Top Bolt? Also, it's not like writers leaving a show after a certain point is uncommon, especially for long runners. Remember SpongeBob, Fairly OddParents, Rugrats, Adventure Time, and Regular Show with how many writers left there too?
  2. What made the first movie the only one that worked? What about Sunset's reformation arc after that (the real hook of the franchise)?
  3. Relax, I'm not asking for a fanfiction, just a basic outline is all. Like summing up how Sunset would see Sci-Twi any differently than Pony Twilight (if you were a shipper, what reason would there be on how to choose to ship Sunset with Pony or Human Twilight if they're 100% the same). And a nuance on how to write Sci-Twi being 100% like her pony counterpart, but also not being the leader of the group (Sunset has that role). And no, but it is harder to try to fix certain things than just "make Sci-Twi exactly like her pony counterpart" and "make Sunset's reunion with Celestia a different special" and "give Sunset more personality", considering how they effect the plot. And what is your stance on Discord, Trixie, and Luna after they reformed? Were they any better at giving them quirks and more personality (outside relying on just "I'm reformed" all the time as their main hook) than Sunset and Starlight and why?
  4. This has been a nagging question for a while, would one prefer to theorize that Sunset would return to Equestria or live out the rest of her life in the human world? Personally, I theorize she'd live the rest of her life in the human world considering the close bonds she has with the Rainbooms and everyone in the human world and it'd be pretty disappointing and sad if she ended up leaving them in the end for Equestria. Especially considering she didn't really have much a connection to anyone in Equestria aside from Princess Twilight and Princess Celestia (and later Starlight Glimmer in Movie Magic) so it feels like it'd make more sense for her to live out the rest of her human life in the human world, occasionally using the portal to visit Equestria once in a while and communicating to Princess Twilight via the journal. As for what she'd do for a living as an adult, maybe she'd eventually become the principal of Canterlot High after Celestia retires (paralleling Princess Twilight succeeding Princess Celestia as ruler of Equestria), inspiring students into their own friendships for the next generations. I personally doubt they would've actually had Sunset leave the human world for good and cut off all contact with her human friends if they had gotten Equestria Girls a proper finale. I doubt they'd spend several movies, specials, and shorts focusing on the girls' friendship if Sunset did get permanent separation. Heck, Forgotten Friendship even has Sunset get her memories of the human world back immediately after they're removed so that does imply to me that they wouldn't go for her cutting contact with the human world. Especially when we have pony Twilight still being in contact with the rest of the Mane 6 even when moving to Canterlot as princess. The deleted homesick plot in Friendship Games also ended with Sunset choosing the human world over Equestria. I think even one of the writers mentioned Sunset's true home is the human world, so I'm positive she'd spend the rest of her days there (maybe becomes a teacher at Canterlot High) with occasional visits to Equestria and using the journals to message Twilight and Celestia.
