Using old hot characters to save a show seems more likely to fail, and would damage the reputation I wish they can explore more of the land of Equestria through more new characters, and from different views, like fan fictions -

Boys used to have birthday parties at school when it's school time, with their best classmates, sharing cakes with other classmates, on this land. Quite amazing for me to remember, because boys are usually not so caring (and sweet?)
