  1. @@thor9356, "Hm...." Frayed Logic looked around. "A very cozy home, I must say. Are you the owner? These pictures don't seem to be of you... Who is this pony?" He tried not to pry, but this pony had already proven himself very strange and Frayed was feeling very apprehensive in general. His mind was working a million miles a minute, and he just wanted to figure out what was going on.
  2. ((Depending on the college and the class, either 50 minutes or an hour and ten. With 7 that's about 8 hours of classes with lunch. Maybe more like 45 minutes? That would be about 6 hours.)) @, @@Ampharos, Light Eye tried to pay attention to everything, but just got distracted reading the book. There was so much information here... specific dates, names and stories he had never heard of. She leafed through the book, reading quickly and absorbing all of the information. However, her ears perked up upon hearing the talk about draconequi. She raised her hoof and began speaking without waiting. "Um, actually, sir? There's been theories that the draconequi are actually an ancient species and that Discord was simply one of many. After all, stories about trickster types with multifold bodies and magic, world-bending powers who use their abilities to twist nature and create havoc are up to 4,000 years old by all accounts. Many people theorize that Discord was either just an extraordinarily powerful one, the last of his kind, or the inheritor of their legacy and powerful."
  3. Light Eye grinned at the entrance of the teacher. She hoped there was much to learn from him. If there was any new info to be gleaned from this teacher, she would eagerly and readily accept it. "Talk more after class, alright?" Light Eye whispered in quick, hushed tones to Steeleye. "I don't want to miss anything."
  4. @, "Well, that does makes sense," Light Eye admitted. "Not to mention that normal laws of time space can easily be twisted in a library. Of course, that does make me worry about a few other things... The presence of such a special that ignites the magics of the book in particular could cause major problems for the arcane atmosphere in general, though I suppose you have some way to limit that." Light Eye pouted, not one for appearances but more general thought. "Gah, there's just far too much to think about, but in general yes, definitely yes, that sounds nice and amazing." Light Eye gave him a big smile. We'll figure out the fine details later."
  5. There are so many shy OCs. SO MANY. That's why I made Light so excitable and energetic, to offset that too much. However, I honestly want to know: do you guys think I should tone her down, is she good as she is?
  6. @@thor9356, Frayed thought about all the pony had said. A lot of it did make sense, and there was denying the life of the average Earth pony wasn't doing so hot comparatively, he wasn't quite sure about all the fact, nor the severity he addressed them with. But he nodded. "Yes, that sounds like it's a good idea. I'm rather restless these days, and I'd be eager to get started with the work."
  7. @, "Hm... that does sound interesting." Although interested Light Shine had not been allowed to take magic theory because she wasn't a unicorn, so she tried to study up on her own and was left with a very scattered education on the subject. "But teleportation spells scale energy with distance... and it goes exponentially, doesn't it? To go halfway across the globe would take the equivalent of several discharges of the Elements of Harmony. How does this spell circumvent it? Are the books a reactor of some sort? Not that a more exotic location wouldn't... excite me."
  8. @, "Well, I suppose that have a totemic book come to life and attack me would have been much worse without your company, and not just because I would be dead if you were not there," Light said, half-teasing. "I can hold my own, but I think I draw the line at lliterature-based demons and monsters. Anyway, it will be fantastic to have you there, but you'd best be wearing something if only for contrast when later events conspire to change that fact."
  9. @, Light Eye smiled. "Indeed, I would most definitely say it is the greatest burst of excitement I have had in quite some time. Will you be attending the party for introductions and welcoming and whatnot later? I would be very happy if you would attend it with me," Light Eye said. "As a date."
  10. @, "Herr Steeleye! Very nice to see you!" Light Eye said sincerely. "I was hoping you were in my classes. It's good that we're on the same track. I hope you slept well, even with the consistent torturously arousing dreams of me you must have had to sit through." She gave an impish smile. "I suspect this won't be too much new, but I relish the spare droplets of information that I can wring from any situation."
  11. @@Ampharos, "You know, you shouldn't be afraid to scrap with somebody just because they're a mare. I'll take you on and throw you to the ground. I mean, do you think any of the Elements of Harmony are afraid to scrap?" Light Eye said, a little bit more seriously then usual.
  12. @@Ampharos, "Right, me too." Light had the books for her mythology class in her purse, plus paper and pen for notes. "Mind if I accompany you?" She got up from her seat, took care of her dishes, and began to trot after Blaze. "Or have you had enough of my brilliant, exuberant, over-the-top and the teensiest bit annoying personality?"
  13. @@Ampharos, "What, you don't think I can hold my own when it comes to heavy lifting? I could go toe to toe with you anyday, flame boy. We Earth ponies might not have fancy magic or big ol' wings the pomf up whenever we get a little bit hot under the collar, but we've got the ground, and while you on our ground, you'll give us some respect! Hmph!" Light Eye did a bit display of fake offense that she really didn't feel, complete with haughty expressions that faded away just as soon as she was done. ((Cue "some of my best friends are Earth ponies!))
  14. @@Fhaolan, I haven't seen that yet. I'm sure it's a goldmine of information. Now I just need to get my handses on it. Too bad no money and no bookstores nearby.
  15. @@Bronydash, That's what I meant. Not immortal in that they never die. I think aging of ponies is based upon something more like emotion or how old they feel as opposed to, say, second to second age inducing. Which would also make sense since magic and whatnot.
  16. @@Ampharos, "Aw come on, Blaze, if I don't make fun of you, how do you really know that I care?" She gave an impish grin and stuck out her tongue, giving a wink as she did so. "After all, if someone who has offered to carry you to the infirmary when you burn yourself and promised to show you how to light stuff on fire with mirrors can't be considered your friend, who can?"
  17. @, @@Ampharos, "It's a welcoming party of sorts. I don't know, I was just hearing about it. I'm not quite certain what's going on: I'm not quite right until after breakfast. Or lunch, to be honest. I also have a tendency to get on people's nerves." "ISN'T THAT RIGHT, BLAZE?" She called out in an exaggerated fashion to the pony to the pony in question. "DON'T THINK I DIDN'T SEE THAT. I'M COMING FOR YOU!"
  18. @, "Come one, come all, to the coolest table around!" Light Eye said. "My name is Light Eye, and I'll be your host for this breakfast. Today's top stories include a party, Mythology, and how frickin' sweet our classes are going to be. How and who are you? Name? Story? Favorite color? Cutie Mark? Though I can just stare at your flank for that last one, if you so prefer."
  19. "Aw yiss! This place is going to be party central? What kind? Crazy dance party?" She suddenly made her voice slow and calm "Intimate affair? Shall we discuss the political climate in Saddle Arabia? Or will we go bust out some sick moves on the dance floor?" Inwardly, she thought about inviting Steeleye. That would make the night perfect. "Don't worry small fry," she said, turning to Ciel. "Maybe you and I could get together and I could show you exactly what I mean." She gave a humorous wink and a goofy grin to allay any freaking out at the statement.
  20. @@DarligPegasi, "Well, to put it in terms that won't offend the ears of some of the more squeamish here, people who I can dance a little barnyard dance with. Country matters, if you will," she took another bite of her omelette. @, "A party? Can I come? Oh, am I intruding? It's okay if I can't come, but I would really like to if that's okay with everypony." She smiled sincerely.
  21. @@DarligPegasi, "Go right ahead!" Light Eye said. "We have plenty of space here. How are you doing? Have we met yet? You'll have to excuse me, I'm absolutely terrible with names and faces." She seemed apologetic. "We were just discussing our classes, and whether or not they would be fun or interesting. I'm gambling on most of them being fairly entertaining, or educational at the very least. If not, there are still plenty of mares and stallions for me to have a shot at, so I wouldn't let it bother me too much regardless."
  22. @@DarligPegasi, Today is the actual first day of classes. We'll be beginning them after breakfast with a short period in between. Remember that we now have a single schedule for everyone.
  23. @@Ampharos, "Hello Blaze, how are you?" Light asked, not having noticed him at first. She got herself an omellete and dug into it, eating very quickly so she would have time to get her things for the class. "I'm looking forward to mythology, personally. I've read just about every book there is on it and I hope they have some fresh information on Equestrian history for us."
  24. @@thor9356, "A-alright..." Frayed Logic stuttered. "As long as you aren't actually planning rebellion or anything. I don't think the idea of monarchy is universally beneficial or anything, but the alicorns seem to have been specifically ordained by cosmic forces for their roles, and their role has never strayed us wrong. Until events conspire to render them incapable rulers, it just simply makes sense to maintain their rule. If the people were to choose we would choose them again and again regardless." It wasn't as though Frayed had never thought about it: self-governance had been done by the ponies before, but the appearance of the alicorn rulers power had just been naturally ceded to them eventually. There were systems in place for the rule of the people to become heard, on local levels and with several petitioning systems, but rarely was any massive upheaval needed.
  25. @@Psych Ward, "Oh, that's excellent. Food is absolutely essential and all that. Mind if I attend breakfast with you? It would make it much more enjoyable than just munching on oats alone," Light Eye said. Her roommate seemed very interesting and kind, it would definitely be good to get to know her.
