  1. @~The Snowy Wolf~

Holy smokes, this thing still exists! I do miss the good ol' days of RP. This one would be perfect for myself, I feel. I am much more literate than before, too. I have some time after classes where I could respond. I don't remember where we left off though! It's been three years... I mean, I did leave early, but I'm still into it.

    *edit*

Holy crap, I didn't even say I left this thing. I just dropped off the face of the earth. What is wrong with past me? What a dick. I should have at least said something then.

  2. @,

    (During your post)

When Sapphire requested Cyril release the bits of what remained, he piled them into the corner where they would be least disturbed. He felt a bit guilty at the comment on the radio, but he did not expect the hug at all. Even though she did mention it earlier, it made him blush a little. It's harder to see Cyril blush, considering it just makes his already dark purple coat a slightly darker shade. Yes, it was a short and friendly-pity hug, but it meant a lot to him. Cyril was only slightly surprised at the appeared armor, as it wasn't exactly the kind of armor he expected her to summon. "Beautiful..." was all he could mutter before he moved in his newly formed armor. It seems to meld with his skin, but that was only due to it's summoning. He acknowledged the movement towards the gate room, where Lightning said to meet him. "Let's hope that this issue can be easily resolved... and thanks for the hug..." he added quickly.

  3. @@The Original,@@Mario3D13,

Sapphire caught up, she looked at the parts of what was left MIRVI. "What was that? Was it yours Cyril?" She looked at the pieces the it was something she could not work out, her mood changed a little from sadness and such to pity and remorse for Cyril she could tell that he was attached to the object once was. "Are you ok do you want help or a hug?"

Cyril took a second to look at Sapphire. Why was she all of a sudden in such a new mood? It's not like she really was concerned about him... right? Nonetheless, the offer took him off guard and a bit speechless. He never had any ponies asking if he needed help, or wanted anything. Though, he never really was in situations like this. "I-... i'll..." Cyril's eyes began to water, but he pushed away the tears and wiped his eyes with his forearm. "I will be alright... Just need to get over it. She was just a VI anyways. She didn't have any real feelings..." his words came out sheared and inside quick breaths. "I just wish I could see my sister right now. She always knows how to cheer me up."

"Sapphire, I need you to get your battle armor. You and Cyril should meet me at the gate room." Lightning raced off to his room. This is a potentially hazardous situation. Better load up. He placed a few magazines for his Magnum and rifle in his pack.

Lightning radioed Scarlett. "Scarlett, MIRVI just got blasted to pieces. By what or who, we don't know. Me, Sapphire, and Cyril are going to investigate."

Cyril watched Lightning storm (GET IT?) off down the corridors. At the note of Sapphire's armor, he noticed that he was almost alone when it came to protection. Each of the main ponies on this ship had some form of external protection. Cyril, however, did not know much on defensive magic. He was always more of a pony who tended towards offensive or utility magics. "Is there anything I can wear for protection, Sapphire?"

  4. Well, @The Original had made it out to be the ship who blasted Mir, not you. Oh, and don't even think about coming after Tuesday, if that's what you want.

I wanted to make it seem like the ship's AI destroyed her for exploring and poking around. I can change it? Unless Specter wants to accept responsibility.

    • Brohoof 1
  5. "Let's go after him," he said to Sapphire (). Lightning raced after him. After a while, he lost him. Where in Tartarus could that politician have gone to? He eventually bumped into Cyril.

    @The Original,

"Oof!" He opened his eyes to see a jumble of pieces floating due to Cyril's magic. "What...what's that?" He pointed to the pieces.

Cyril was unmoved Lightning's incursion. He stopped in his tracks to stare lowly at him for a bit. "It's the remains of Mir... The ship took her from me." Cyril continued past Lightning towars his room. Or at least, towards the area in which he believe the room he took was. He didn't have time to talk. He just wanted to bury MIRVI somehow, because he knew there was no fixing her. He had a magical spirit bond with Mir, and now she was gone.

  6. @The Original,

Lightning looked at Cyril, then back at Sapphire, then back to Cyril again. "How did you...I can't even...You melted them?! Why would you melt them?!" He looked into Sapphire's beautiful eyes. "Why did he melt them? What was he doing that led him to do something so...so illogical?"

    @@Mario3D13,

"Oh I don't know I was complaining I mean I'm not in a good mood and then bozo here just takes out radios and melts them right here and now and then I don't know." She flickers her head, like 'why he did it is beyond me'.

    @,

"Breath...air...Flame...air...tight...your...welcome....Flame..." She tried to breath as he crushed her, who knew pegasi could hug that tight.

Cyril laughed hysterically. The whole moment was getting to him. He couldn't cope with the fact that Sapphire was being so unreasonably depressed and upset. "Why did I melt them? Oh, I do not know. Why is Sapphire so set on not doing anything? Because two of her ideas got shot down? I'm sorry, but I am too set off by all of this right now. I need to go calm down. If you wan the ponies to be informed, you do it." With that, Cyril walked off out and to his room. Without Mir to guide him, he didn't have as good a sense to where he was going. Gah, what am I doing... The one time I am assigned a job... I have to get partnered with the most beautiful yet depressed mare on this entire ship. Cyril having conflicts with himself got lost in the hallways. He could not find his room, and ended up somewhere deeper into the ship's engineering section. He sensed dead magic, and couldn't help but pursue the origin of it. About ten minutes into his searching, he found the remains of...

"Great Celestia... no. Please no..." Cyril fell to his haunches, scanning over the bits and ashes of his former droid. "Maybe her memory data core... maybe I could see what happened..." Cyril dug through the piles of ash and metal hunks to finally find the core. Thankfully, it was heavily protected with magic and strong metal compounds. It was the one thing Cyril would want most if MIRVI would be destroyed somehow. He magically twisted open the casing and pulled out a chip, plugging it into an exterior magic projection slot. A small image of the last half an hour of MIRVI's memory appeared, starting at the earliest. It was a bit before Cyril sent her off, so he fast forwarded about twenty minutes. At about the twenty seven minute mark, a metallic voice resounded, but was in another tongue. A few more times it sounded, increasingly aggressive. After the third call, Mir was quickly vaporized by some sort of beam. Unknown in structure, it seemed to come right out of the wall. Cyril looked up from the projection to find some sort of nozzle as to where the bolt came from, but to no avail. "Blast it all... I can not believe this happened to you... You promised me you would-... you would-..." Cyril choked on his words, hardly containing the emotion he felt. Somehow, he kept all but a single tear from releasing. "I'll fix this..." he breathed out shakily. He stood back up, taking all of the parts into his magic and continuing his search back the way he came to find his room.

  7. @@The Original,

"That is not really necessary for me to run around the ship like a loon, almost everypony has a radio or would be with someone with one here." sapphire hooded him her radio, "Use that everyone's radios were fixed earlier now and they work ship wide heck they work through the gate. Insert part where Scarlett would spew geeky talk about how stupid I am for thinking that it would not work because gate, this gate that and so on, she hates my ideas." Sapphire calmed herself down a little. "Go on just use the damn radio."

Cyril was conflicted onto what to do now. He could either give up and use the radio, or... "No. You're not getting away that easily." Cyril grabbed both of their radios in his magic and destroyed them, melting them into one pool of melted metals and electronics. They quickly cooled under the same magical power. "I don't care if its faster OR easier. I want you to come with me and tell each pony. Besides, the radio would only transmit on one frequency at a time. I don't think everypony is on that frequency." Cyril walked to the doorway, motioning for Sapphire to follow him. "Come with me."

  8. @@The Original,

She sighed, "If you want my useless help so much fine," She sighed again. "Your must tell them and don't lie, how that is your problem but no lies, no half truths no bullshit just tell them lies will only cause distrust if they find out the truth...I don't know how you will do it." She looked down to the floor quite a bend since he was on his knees, "What do I know that probably was bad advise."

Cyril laughed, but not out of humor. "You see? That was a great idea. I think it's perfect. However, we still need to gather them into one room. I need your help telling each pony in ship to meet in the gate room. Are you up to that?" Cyril was at his last means to get her to go and be happy. If this didn't work, he didn't know what to do.

  9. @@The Original,

"I...I don't want too, you say I make mistakes and should learn from it, I know that I'm not 5 but I'm the only one making them everyone else is not so what dose that say about me? I'm a royal guard I stand still for half days at a time and then hit things with my magic or my sword what use am I on a ship who do I hit? What do I guard, I have no purpose on this ship I AM the most useless pony on this ship...well I can mend ponies but that's it."

Cyril frowned and sighed deeply. "You're not a tool. You have many purposes and uses other than what you're trained for. You are a pony. You're not the only one making mistakes, but you are making very public mistakes. I've made mistakes in the past. Everypony has. Scarlett has made some, Lightning has made some. I think Amber and whatsherbucket getting together is a constant mistake, but that's only because they wont stop for two minutes to actually work and pay attention. They're attached by the flank as it seems. They may just weigh us down in fact. But you can help me. We need to get this danger situation publicized. Will you help me? I want your help, and I need ideas as to how to tell them. I'm begging you..." Cyril how down on his knees, looking up at her perfect purple eyes. "You have the makings of greatness... I know it. You just need to get it out in the open" he said softly to her.

  10. @,

Cyril smiled. She didn't see what potential she had. "Do you want to know what my favorite sage old saying is? Of course you do. It goes: One can never learn from their mistakes if they do not make any. It essentially means that if you do not mess up now, while it doesn't mean much and you can learn from it, you will mess up later on and it will be a lot worse. Learn. That's what making mistakes is about. Not feeling depressed and useless. Look at the bright side, you aren't being rude or bossy anymore. That's a good thing." Cyril stepped a little closer, hushing his voice to a lower tone. "And if anything, i like a mare who can learn from her mistakes.Cyril smirked and backed into his original position. He sighed lightly and shook his head. "But, if you do not get up and get out here to help me, it only tells me that you do not actually want to help. Will you, please? I need you." He tried his best to bring her moods up, anything to cheer her out of her funk. She wasn't worthless. She would never be worthless.

  11. @@The Original

She shook his hoof with some disdain she was still not really in a good mood. "My name is Sapphire and I'm the nut job around here who can't do anything right and can't help with anything and have been removed of her command and is suicidal at this moment, nice to meet you." There was sadness, anger, sarcasm and more in her voice and looks.

Cyril frowned upon hearing this. Suicidal? It seemed unlike her, but being stripped of command seemed a bit just. "Trust me, there's nothing to suicide over at the moment. You can help, you can keep ponies alive. Why take one life away when you can keep twenty?" He tried his best to raise her mood up. She really was a stunning mare. While she did have some interesting colors, her eyes really kept his attention. Her eyes are the most beautiful purple... and her mane is a wonderful mix... Hmm. I'd call her statistically attractive. Cyril couldn't keep his eyes off of her more appealing features. "Look, even if you simply go in there with me, i'm sure your appearance alone could make the ponies calm down in this situation. They would be a bit distracted at the least..." Cyril was almost lost in what he was saying. Normally, he wasn't so susceptible to good looks.

  12. "So we have not power, almost no means to charge it and magic doesn't work, I'm sorry for being the thick pessimist here but we are going to plow into the star and all die. Unless we can magic up a solution to the problem despite us having what seems no means to fix it." Sapphire was expecting to be told to shut up for that but she was simply speaking her mind.

Cyril turned towards the mare, noting her as the one who was always aggressive or sad, and tended to try and boss others around. Fun. Cyril has had enough of ponies like this back in MIT.

"Well, it's you and I now. Most ponies are likely to be in their rooms. Don't suppose there is an intercom or anything on this ship? It's doubtful. Let us look for that first. If there is none, we will just try and get everypony to meet in the gate room for a debriefing. Sound like a plan?" While he formed a question, he really was looking for a simple nod or one word response. Perhaps just a reaction even. The mare did not seem of best moods.

"Or... Perhaps it would be best to be formally acquainted first? It is helpful when I'm on at least a last name basis. First name preferably. However, I am Cyril Coltefeller. Magical Instutute of Technology masters graduate. I specialize in the general modern application of magic in today's equipment. And you are?" He gestured his hoof towards her in a gentlecoltly manner. If he was going to get ponies to like him, whether it be politically or friendly, he needed to start as soon as possible.

  13. I thought the fact that the ship was losing power and the engines shutting off an the weird drop out of FTL would make people think the ship was out of power and that's why it was going in to a ship.

It can go round the entire ship within hours without problems and scan everything.

Literally, there's no point having this rp if we have things like this that can solve everything.

Next time I make an rp, I'm restricting it to tech that I get a full description ofso I know what they can and can't do...

I said it would take hours, as in way after the star was reached. As for op, she is basic level scans. Locations and appearance. Nothing more than that. There is an extent as to thermal and volt measurage, but as you said there isn't a way for her to read due to shields.

  14. It's not a smart AI. All it does it navigate the ship. It's a very basic AI.

And Scarlett was not hinting towards it at all. And you can't just scan Ancient technology. They are shielded against that, and the ship is massive.

Does nobody read what I write?

    MIRVI is ridiculously overpowered...

An advanced data and observations droid. Yeah, I'll check that off into my list of overpowered devices used by an OC.

  15. It's not a smart AI. All it does it navigate the ship. It's a very basic AI.

And Scarlett was not hinting towards it at all. And you can't just scan Ancient technology. They are shielded against that, and the ship is massive.

Does nobody read what I write?

Did I say she would come back successful? Well, I never said anything about it, but I'll make sure she comes back inconclusive. Sorry for ruining your plot Ethan ._.

  16. I, for one, would like to know where in Tartarus did MIRVI have that information! Neither Scarlett nor myself knew about the star power draw.

I... Can edit it out... If you like... I kinda made it up? I mean, it seemed like Scarlett was hinting to it anyways? I mean, MIRVI HAS been scanning the ship continuously ever since they got on board. But Cyril was just guessing. There would be no reason a smart AI would send them into a star otherwise, he reasons.

17 plot points I spent hours planning, completely ruined with this one sentence. Well-fucking done.

Not possible. All systems such as this are either inaccessible due to a master code, or just not accessible from the inside.

Searching the ship is the equivalent of searching every room of every building in London. And Mir would have no idea where to start as the only way to access the map is through the console, which no device can interface with other than Specter.

Not when you can scan each building in about three seconds. Might take an few hours. He's used to waiting. Remember, MIRVI is mapping her own map continuously.
  17. I know. It just feels weird asking the same person the same question 3 times (c'est la vie). I was referring mostly to Emerald, because I had replied to his post that said "from the suicide to the death", and he replied to Flame instead, something I thought was very peculiar.

And I agree: generators are crap

There! I posted. Also, I hope Scarlett doesn't get mad at me for interjecting technological fact about the ship. I don't know anything about Stargate :x

  18. Lightning heard this and thought, She doesn't realize what she's done, does she? "Solar, do you realize what you've done? Without you, Amber wouldn't be with us right now. You saved her life. That's something not many ponies have the opportunity to do. And don't worry. I'm sure there will be more opportunities for you to be useful, given all that's happened since we got here. Now, we should get going to the gate room and make sure everything is okay. While we're at it," he looked at Solar and Amber, "I'd like a word with you two."

"Lightning, Mir has made it very, perfectly, crystal, exclusively clear... That the generators will be of no use to us. They are incompatible with the ship" he said, only half flanking his acting to try and seem downtrodden. "However... I reason that the ship must have a mechanism which replenishes its own energy. Why would a ship this big run on an nonrenewable resource? It would be wasteful! No. I believe this ship draws energy from stars... An interesting concept. Very advanced... I can only hope I am right though." Cyril was lost in thought, wondering what number of applications such technology could apply to. "Mir, try and find where the input for this direct solar energy is located, if any. If inconclusive, return as soon as possible." Mir immediately whisked away down the halls and corridors to find the requested site. It's internal maps suggested engineering first, and then core, engines, and outward. If nothing was found, or if nothing could be found, Mir would cancel her request.

"You see, solar panels would be ineffective to power a ship of this magnitude... Too simple too. I don't think a ship AI would care much about whose on the ship. If it is smart in any way, it would see we mean it no hard. Only its betterment. But, pulling energy from a star... we wouldn't be allowed too close..." Cyril stopped for a long moment. He quizzed himself, how would one use the energy of the sun, without being cooked to a crisp? "...A solar flare... Scarlett is genius. Be in a position to harness that outburst..." Cyril stopped himself. When it came to science, he often did this. Ramble on and then catch himself. "Sorry... If i'm correct, we've nothing to worry about. If not... we'll surely be cooked alive."

  19. Well, it isn't my fault that some of my recent posts have been ignored by the people that I was addressing (as in and @The Original) That's 0 for 2 by the both of you

But don't worry; I won't be pushing for posts again, because its anti-productive.

Hey bro, I have time limits. I was going to reply to you literally in my next post about generators being crap.

  20. Cyril finally had Mir organize all the boxes of generator parts into one pile. "So, Mir. Will these generators be enough to recharge the ship's battery?" he quizzed her, hoping for some mathematical input. What returned was completely unexpected. "Cyril, these generators are not compatible with the ship's input, core, or power source. To make it easier to understand, I will summari-"

"MIRVI! Are you telling me that we searched and piled this up for nothing?"

The droid processed the statement before turning ever so slight and irritatingly towards Cyril.

"Yes, that's exactly what i'm telling you."

Cyril didn't even react, he just started walking towards where the rest of the group was stationed.

"Sir, the ship is on a direct course towards a luminosity level III star. I recommend figuring a solution for evading this obstacle."

"Oh. A blue giant... Well, that's a problem. Have any of you figured a way out of this yet?" he inquired, directing himself towards the others in the room.

  21. @@Mario3D13,

Cyril took note of the sudden darkness, but didn't seem to mind. "Mir, emit natural lighting, level 3." Mir's external lights let out a soothing golden white glow after a brief intervention. In addition, he had MIRVI picking up radio signals at all times, and Lightning happened to be sending out a request. "Mir, open a channel directly back to the source." After a short period, Mir simply whirred over close to Cyril so he could respond. "Ten four, Doc. I'll do what I can, but no promises" he replied, but in a rather light spirited tone. That's odd... I never talk like that... What has gotten into me? Cyril decided the only way he was going to get on the good side of these ponies would be simply to follow them and refrain from any potentially off setting remarks and statements.

Cyril trotted down to storage with Mir, hoping her scanners could detect some form of electrical generator. "Good at organizing? In Tartarus does that have to do with finding a generator? It is not like I put all of these boxes here myself" Cyril spoke to himself, hoping Mir might interject with some logical explanation. Regardless, the golden orb stayed silent, aside from the light hum which was constantly emitted from inside the chassis.

After approximately 23 boxes were searched, the 24th box contained what looked like a bunch of parts. Want to guess what kind of parts? Parts to assemble a generation. For Celestia sake... I get to put this together now as well? Cyril was never one for assembly of unknown bits a pieces. "Mir, open the channel to Lightning again. Afterwards, keep searching more boxes for potential parts. Perhaps there is more to it than this..." he stated quizzically. MIRVI hummed loudly and emitted a small static noise before continuing with the scans.

"Doc, it's Cyril. I found the generat- eh... well... realistically, i found the individual parts for a generator. Hopefully there is more than just one box, but it will be a while before I can get this assembled. ETA, half an hour to an hour. Get comfy." Finally, Cyril had Mir close the channel on his end, but still open to receive.

  22. Cyril stood completely ignored. The only thing that occurred was what seemed like an odd breeze that passed by, which wouldn't normally occur through and air filter. "I will leave you to whatever this is then. Not like I asked a question or anything..." muttering the last bit to himself, Cyril sent off to find another living space. Just down the hallway was a vacant room, or at least unclaimed. "Mir, set up my personal belongings as best you can... Or at least, what is left of my belongings" he sighed out the ending, laying himself onto the bed. The mattress wasn't too comfortable, but it was relief. "Sweet, sweet relief..." he breathed, taking the moment of situation luxury completely in. Cyril looked over at the MIRVI which worked diligently moving things to and from the room and storage.

"Mir... You would never hurt me, correct?"

"Of course not, sir. I am programmed to obey your every order, protect you from all harm, and give you the occasional compliment. Why do you ask?" she replied slowly.

"Just wondering... I don't know. I'm doubting my capabilities..."

  23. @,

Cyril huffed and fell upon a very serious face. "If I wanted power, I would have tried to take it already. If you think i'm power hungry, take on the job. Lightning has already decided he should take place organizing this effort, so i'll leave it to him." Cyril knew fully well that the red pegasus would not want his position, not really. Lighting however, would. Still, even after stepping down, nopony wanted to oppose him. Nopony cried out to stop him from stepping down. Cyril knew his place, and some would say he knew it too well.

Cyril requested the MIRVI to direct him to a suitable living space so that he might be able to settle down for once. The air was stable, but concerns for food and water were still a problem. "Let's hope somepony was smart enough to drag a damned replicator through the gate before it all went to hell..." he muttered under his breath as he followed directions from the MIRVI.

    @,@@1Bit, @@Unicorncob,

Upon arrival, he found that there were multiple mares already occupying the room. "Oh. My apologies. I did not know anypony was in here..." he excused himself quickly, hoping he wasn't disturbing them. Then he recognized them as the ponies who followed Scarlett nearly everywhere. "Wait... what's going on in here? Is everything alright?" he inquired as sincerely as he could, although he was instead concerned that they were possibly plotting.

  24. Lightning walked up to him and looked him straight in the eye. "I oppose." Gasps were heard from the crowd. "You've proposed a democracy, as in a government led by the people. You claim there should be no leader, yet you're presenting yourself as one. You claim that Scarlett, along with Solar, Amber, Flame, Sapphire, Crystal, and myself, have done nothing more than filters and prancing around. That prancing around was actually us making sure there were living spaces for everyone. You say that Scarlett isn't fit to lead. Are you suggesting that you are? Under the current circumstances, we need a leader with the necessary knowledge about the problems we face. And I'm positive that it isn't you. Had you been in Scarlett's place, would you have been able to fix the filters? As far I'm concerned, you couldn't have. You have every right to prove me wrong, but, given the situation, I believe you aren't fit to lead any of us." Silence ensued afterward. "Oh, and you never answered my question on what Mir considers the qualities necessary for leadership, because that can fluctuate a lot from person to person."

Cyril remained unfazed at both Lightnings words and intents. Cyril knew he would have enemies somewhere, he needed to uproot them.

"I could have fixed the filters with my eyes closed, thank you very much. Scarlett is no more intelligent than I am when it comes to science. I didn't just obtain Mir, I built it." Cyril took a second to look at each pony here, and now there were a few who would question Cyril's intent.

"I said I would take temporary lead until the others saw it suitable to take the role. I'm not trying to be a tyrant or a lord over all. If you want the position, take it. It's yours. If that's what you want. This is democracy after all." Cyril, for a moment, smirked. He knew exactly how to win a group over, at least an ambivalent one.

"From the sounds of it though, you're just trying to cause more trouble. You heard me before, so why come up with words such of an argument? I'm not arguing. I want what's best for everypony." A few ponies boo'd Lightning. A few spoke, too.

"Cyril wants to help! You just want Scarlett or yourself in control."

"Yeah, Cyril isn't commanding, he's organizing. As long as we think he's right and don't suggest otherwise, we technically all voted yes on the decision."

Cyril chuckled at the support he received from the others. "They can see it. But I disagree, thinking that you just want power. If you truly see yourself or Scarlett a better organized, take lead, please."
