  1. Now, I've watched a few more episodes, as recommended by you guys, and I can say I like the show. 'Course, I'm no hardcore fan like some of you guys, but I can say it's worth watching. I'll probably watch some episodes here and there over the course of the holidays. To answer your question Cindy, in the area of Western animation, I like Regular Show and Adventure Time, but really I'm more of an anime fan, with my favourites being Lucky Star and Gurren Lagann. Once again, I thank all of you for you helpful insight.
  2. Thanks, everyone. I'll be getting off for the night, so I thank you for all of your insight and help.
  3. Yes, a fantastic idea. When I watched the show, I did feel that the characters were very distinct form each other, and followed quirks that people commonly have in real life, which is real cool and all, but I felt the characters weren't very subtle, but I haven't had much of a chance to see how the develop, seeing as I haven't watched the episodes in order, rather watching a few here and there that have been suggested to me. Mind you, this is just me, and i can totally accept if you believe something different. Speaking of which, which episodes would you suggest watching, Krall?
  4. Okay, thanks for being civil and giving me a response. I'll make an effort to watch some more episodes, since you said it was more of a gradual occurrence.
  5. So I say something bad, and people target me even if what I said was thought out? Very professional. I praise the show greatly for breaking free of the stereotype that plagues this sort of show, and the fanbase and animation is definitely leaps and bounds ahead of what's expected now. I never told you that the show was a train wreck, or anything, and I was trying to be as tactful as possible, even if you didn't think so. And I've not done nothing but criticise the show. The show can be praised easily, but you've still not shown me what attracts you to this show? And I mean you personally, I am interested to know. Don't label me as a hater because I don't think the show's a godsend like you do.
  6. I have given you my thoughts on the show, and I am therefore a hater? I wasn't overly critical of the show. I pointed out certain points which, in my opinion, weren't good. I can easily praise the show, I'm just asking what the huge appeal is. If you want me to praise the show, I can.
  7. I didn't watch the show to say how bad it is. I watched it for two reasons: 1. I hear about it all the time. 2. I wanted to give feedback on my thoughts. If I thought the show was bad, why would I watch it?
  8. Alrighty, I've heard the fanbase is welcoming from Flare, but one cannot say that a show is good simply because it doesn't conform to a stereotype. Personaly, I found Rarity more interesting than the others, yet still rather uninteresting. Whilst I greatly commend the show for breaking free from this stereotype, again, just this can't make it good. Yes, I can comprehend that people's opinions will differ from mine, but what am I missing about this show that everyone else seems to see?
  9. Come on, I did my best to criticise the show reasonably, rather than exaggerating things. Keep in mind this is my opinion only.
  10. Of course it was tossed in my face. I hear about it all the time, so I watched it and questioned it's appeal. And thanks for welcoming me to the forums. You think I would go to the effort to make an account just to troll? I deal with people talking about this every day, and so, looked at it for myself. You can ask Flare03, he told me to make an account and ask.
  11. Perhaps, but I've seen the show, did not see the appeal, saw the huge fanbase, asked you here.
  12. Now, I am not a brony, or a fan, or anything, but I have seen a few episodes of the show, as recommended to me by my friend, flare03, but I can't see the appeal. I find most of the characters, bar Fluttershy, to be quite irritating, and in-your-face. Pinkie Pie especially, but I've been told that this is a common opinion. Why do you find them appealing/likable? The story hardly fits a world inhabited entirely by ponies, and is barely revisited. The humour is not funny. I found it juvenile, along with the characters. The memes slipped in to "Appease the older, brony community" have failed to be funny. Others, I've heard, have been slipped in excessively and wear thin. Whilst, I admit, I am greatly biased against the show, I've watched it, and whilst the show itself is not bad, I found it to be quite average, and yet it has a huge following. Now I've been told multiple times that "X number of fans can't be wrong", but this show can be easily criticised. So, not as a fan, or a brony, or anything, where is this show's appeal?
