  1. Quick question to all artists. When you make original artwork (not counting wallpapers and such) do you draw it on paper first then scan it or do you make it on the computer from scratch?

      Here's how I tend to go about creating my work:

      I sketch out my work on paper.

      Scan in the sketch.

      Adjust the proportions in photoshop.

      Ink the sketch in Illistrator of Manga Studio.

      Colour the Lineart in Photoshop or manga studio.

      Add any final touches in Photohsop.

       

      Whether you sketch using paper or digitally is for the most part just a matter of personal preference, and whether you have a decent scanner on hand.

      personally, photoshop lacks tools needed. I use adobe illustrator, soley because it is designed for drawing up from scratch.

      but i think drawing on paper is always a good plan if you scan it in or not.

      Thanks for the tips guys. I've been thinking of trying original art (I've only made wallpapers and stuff) but I didn't know how to go about doing it. :D
