Glitch

"Darnit, Glitch," the unicorn thought to himself, "why must you be so sappy?" He shook his head and took off towards the Everfree, crying out, "Derpy! Derpy!" all the way there, ignoring the jeers of ponies who thought he was an idiot for going into the forest for a klutz like her. He raced into the Everfree, following the trail of felled trees left by his crush. After a few minutes of running, he found Derpy lying down on a toppled tree trunk, crying. Glitch frowned. It broke his heart to see her like this. He then sighed, thinking of all the times he had seen and talked to Derpy and putting a sincere smile on. He walked up to Derpy, placing a hoof on her shoulder. "Derpy," he said, "from the moment I met you, I thought you were amazing. The way you spoke, the cheerful way you carried yourself, the way your eyes went in different directions, I loved it. I saw the way ponies treated you and thought, Why doesn't anypony do something? She doesn't deserve that! It hurt to see you running off and crying, it really did. Even my friends made fun of me for liking you. But I l... l..." Glitch paused, trying to spit it out, "...loved you nonetheless. So please, don't think that the world hates you. Because I don't."

Glitch shifted towards Derpy, ignoring the mental cries of help from the nearby grass now getting rained on by Derpy's downer cloud, for a patch of plant life could not keep him away from helping his love! (That was my attempt at humor.) "Please, Derpy," Glitch pleaded, "don't say that about yourself! I can't stand to see you like this!" A tear started to well in his eye. "You are beautiful! You are amazing! In my eyes, you're the greatest mare I've ever known!" Glitch began to sob. "Please," he implored, "don't do this to yourself."

(OOC: Thank God for you.) Glitch ran under the raincloud, not caring whether or not he got wet or sick. He couldn't stand to see his crush like this, alone and unhappy. "Derpy!" he cried out. "Don't listen to them! They're just insecure and afraid of difference! All they see is some dumb blond! I don't see that! I see a wonderful, beautiful, amazing mare!" When the last few words left his mouth, Glitch immediately wished he could shove them back in.

Glitch gawped at the sight of Derpy running away, her face flush with embarrasment and sadness. He angrily turned towards the jeering ponies. "How dare you!" he shouted, "How dare you make fun of such a sweet pony! Sure, she may have made a few mistakes now and then, but that doesn't give you the right to mock her! What is wrong with you? Are you schoolchildren?" Glitch ran towards Derpy, calling, "Derpy! Stop!"

Glitch grinned. He couldn't help but find the klutzy mare with buns of steel kind of cute when she destroyed something with her rear end. "You okay?" he asked, before sitting down with Derpy in the wreckage, looking out at the lake. "Don't mind that," Glitch said when he caught her looking at the demolished bench. "Just focus on the lake."

"Oh," he said, panting every few seconds, "that's how you got that." Glitch looked out at the duck pond they had just arrived at. The sun shone brightly on the water as the wind whistled in his ears. The sidewalk curved around the pond, where a few ponies were taking a stroll. A bench lay on the bank of the pond. Glitch saw a mother duck cross the water with her chicks. "Pretty," he laconically said.

Is this "Top Five Hottest Ponies" thing still a thing? Because if it is, here's my list: -Rarity -Twilight -Derpy -Celestia -Pinkie

"Wha-uh, really?" Glitch stammered. "That's great!" Glitch smiled as he began to follow the bubbly pegasus to Ponyville Park. "How did that work?" he thought to himself. "Don't question it!" he mentally countered himself. "The prettiest pony this side of Sapphire Shores just said yes to your offer of a date, and you're gonna wonder how you did it? Just focus on the girl!" "All right, all right," he conceded. "Ya don't need to yell."

Glitch gulped, a cluster of butterflies in his stomach. "Here goes something," he muttered to himself. The green unicorn walked up to the gray pegasus. "Um, hi there, Derpy," he awkwardly began, "I couldn't help but, uh, see that you don't seem particularly busy at the moment." Glitch nervously chuckled. "So, I was, um, wondering if you'd like to go for a walk in the park with, um, me." Glitch flashed an awkwardly large smile as he felt a bead of sweat roll down his cheek. "For the love of all things Equestrian," he thought, "I hope this works."
