He isn't the most talented of the German side, nor the most technically efficient, BUT he is a hard worker, a damned nuisance, and just friggin unpredictable. I should know; I'm a fan of his domestic club. There is no doubt of that. His main issue during this seasons Bundesliga and Champions League has been injuries; as well as adapting to the techniques of Guardiola at Bayern Munich. When he understands the system AND has the fitness, he is easily among the worlds elite. Cameroon was no better; Brazil manhandled them 4-1, which means now Brazil is up against Chile, and Mexico taking on a really tough team, the Netherlands. What a dramatic match-up this has been. "Sorry guys, you need to look at the second angle of the foul. The first angle makes it look like he kicked his own foot, the second angle clearly shows his shooting leg got plowed into mid-strike. It was a clear foul and a deserved penalty given his clear scoring position. Remember, Mexico held Brazil from scoring and the extreme heat will likely play in their favor, but you'd expect the Netherlands' offense to triumph. Thing is, they always seem to have the potential to win a big tournament but never the all out do or die mentality to finish it, well... Maybe this year it'll be different? If they do beat Mexico, either Costa Rica or Greece follows... Sure beats going against Brazil and Colombia. If they want to raise the World Cup, the best opportunity they'll ever have is now. They played great this year against a tough group. Their routing of Spain is only a part of that. They won against a very tough Australian side and beat a Chile team at an all-time high. Their performance isn't a fluke, but I may just be biased. Either way, I really want them to win a World Cup, even if just once.
