LZRD WZRD 1,929 June 17, 2014 Share June 17, 2014 This sounds like a better idea for an episode. In that case, I think its a great idea. However I question it's capacity to produce a show's worth of quality material Check out my channel for awesome video reviews and analysis! https://www.youtube.com/c/LZRDWZRD
Skye 463 June 17, 2014 Share June 17, 2014 It's not worth it. Maybe Luna should get another episode, but a spinoff series? No, that's dumb.To be quite frank, there shouldn't be ANY spin-off shows. If Hasbro was going to make a spin-off show of MLP, however, it'd be related to the Equestria Girls franchise. All of these spin-offs fans propose about ponies that barely get any cameos will never happen. Ever.
Whofch 128 June 17, 2014 Share June 17, 2014 Spinoffs are generally a bad idea. They generally ruin good characters. Especially just picking Luna. It would most likely have to follow both sisters to make something work. Those or the CMC are the only ones I could see going somewhere, though it would be much preferable if it was after the current MLP ends. Giving her more of a show presence though is fine and dandy. We were meant to rule together, little sister......
ghostfacekiller39 23,880 June 17, 2014 Share June 17, 2014 (edited) No, because she doesn't deserve the attention, to be blunt. There's really no point. While I like Luna...this just wouldn't be necessary - she's a good character and fills the role she plays in FiM perfectly I can't see her transitioning to being a main character very well, because she's a princess. Yes, Twilight is also a princess, but look at how well she's transitioned - it felt like they were trying to minimize the amount of appearances she had throughout S4. Why?Because that transition is going to be to hard for them to write without her coming off as a perfect, hoity-toity mary sue while maintaining pre-S4 amounts of focus on her. Saddest thing is, Twilight has friends who also will get their own episodes. We haven't seen who Luna would share the screen with, besides the obvious Celestia. Basically, they'd have even less to work with with Luna than they do Twilight, and the staff seems to be struggling writing princess Twilight so much that they're focusing on the other characters much, much more. It'd pretty much either destroy Luna's character all together, honestly, and she's a really great character in FiM with dimensions and depth, but the way it's done can only really work with sporadic appearances. Of course, there's also the fact it'd most likely destroy the extensive fanon our fandom has made about Luna, which would make us even more unhappy, assuming the writers weren't able to pull it off - and because of Luna's character and what they have to work with around her, a full spin-off series with her as the mane character would make that near impossible to pull off. So, no, it doesn't need to happen. It'll destroy Luna's character and the fandom's perception of her Edited June 17, 2014 by A ghostie Makusu2 He who is Positively Obsessed With All Things Rarity!!!
