Galaxy Girls.

I think Galaxy Girls would've rolled off as a tiny bit cheesy. Plus the fact that MLP has been around, it desperately needed a resurrection from them horrible G3 and G3.5 writers.

HOOKED ON A FEELING, I'M HIGH ON BE-..

Oh, wait..

I don't honestly believe we can predict how things would've turned out if it wasn't My Little Pony but Galaxy Girls. We should be glad this is the way things turned out because this whole community has been pretty freaking cool.

That depends. Would GG have been as fun, interesting and moving as FiM? Would it have gained the attention of millions of fans in many countries, including hooking people outside its target demographic? Would it have inspired a metric ton of fan labor ranging from cute to comical to dramatic to dark to perverted? We'll never know

For now, let us simply be grateful that FiM turned out as good as it did :)

How do you think WE feel?!

Hey now, Galaxy Girls with Faust in charge could've been just as good as MLP! Sure it wouldn't have had unicorns or pegasi in it, but it could've been a really cool friendship show kind-of equivalent to Sailor Moon.

I actually would've loved to see Galaxy Girls show since I love the designs, but I also do agree MLP was in a long hiatus and despite me growing up with the older gens, I think I'm also really glad that MLP became this great.

I doubt it would have gotten the same attention. The fact that this is My Little Pony has been brought up countless times in articles both within and outside the fandom. It took everyone by surprise that My Little Pony could've become this good. Plus, there are numerous facets of the art and writing style that could only come from this show that generate the high amount of fan interest.

I would say Galaxy Girls would have caught on to a following similar to that of The Powerpuff Girls and possibly would have been marketable and successful on its own, but not on the level FiM has attained. I would also take into account the fact that the Hub was completely unknown back in 2010, and it would make much more sense commercially for the channel to go with an established franchise rather than a new one in order to raise interest among general audiences.
