Really, unless you go to conventions, or have a store nearby like hastings or a comic store, the internet is the best place by far to buy high end plush.

I get mine off e-bay. There's some super well made japanese(?) plushies on there that are super well made.

Also build a bear ones are nice quality.

And there's usually hand made ones on etsy too but they can get pricey!

One of the best prices and so-so quality:

If you live in Dayton Ohio( USA ) go to the United Art & Education they( at this time ) have $7:00 6 inch MLP mane 6 plushies!( they are located on a spinning rack full of them and other plushies! )

i get nearly all of my plushies at Build a Bear. That way I can take a look at them before I buy them to make certain they are in good 

condition. 

The one exception would be my Funrise large Fluttershy which I saw at Toys R Us and had to get simply because it was a large version of 

Fluttershy. At the time the only other versions they had were Pinkie Pie and Twilight Sparkle.
