I honestly do not see the similaritys, at least not too the point of calling them "the same pony.".

 

Rainbow is a ego hyped up jock with a heart of gold and desire to see every pony around her be as awesome as she knows she is.

 

AJ is a stubborn mule headed traditionalist that wants nothing but the best for her friends and family and would die to see them safe.

 

 

Them both being tomboys, not enough.

 

Them both speaking with husky femine voices, not enough.

 

And the two of them both being competitive, isnt enough either.
