~Sassy Dashie~ 712 June 25, 2014 Share June 25, 2014 (edited) Hello everypony! I just got a new pinkie pie set last night, its an awesome set, except for one thing about it I really dislike... So here is the set! (keep in mind the Pinkie Pie is HUGE) As you can see, there is plastic on her ears. After taking her out, I noticed this: If you look at her ear, you can see a deep gash in the plastic. This made me very angry. Why? Anyone else have this problem? Let me know! This really made me mad, considering that my mother was sweet enough to pay $23.00 and it had that on its ear. *sigh* What can I say? I still love it! Haha! Here it is out of its package! _Kurtis 636 June 26, 2014 Share June 26, 2014 (edited) Anyone else have this problem? Cool Pinkie Pie set! I can see you've asked if we've ever had any damaged/defective merch, so I'll answer with a simple yes. To be honest, I don't collect much FiM toys, I only collect G1 toys. My G1 toys are mostly in mint condition, and they never had any factory made defects. I cannot say the same for my FiM mini figures, though. Most of them have sloppy paint jobs and odd marks/scratches on them. It's pretty disappointing but it's nothing too major, just like the gash on your Pinkie's ear. I haven't really seen major errors/defects on toys though; most toys in general are pretty well made for the most part. I haven't really seen major errors/defects on toys though; most toys in general are pretty well made for the most part. I collect the FIM brushables as well as the mini figures/blind bags and I've had a similar experience with both. I have over 50 of the brushables and even more mini figures, and while most of them are pretty much free of defects, a few of them have various minor flaws such as small dents, scratches, minor hair tangles, and slight displacement of decals/paint. Many of the mini figures and even one of my brushables are slightly off balance as well, which annoys me, but there's nothing I can do about it now. I think they just use a lower quality manufacturing process these days, so occasional minor defects are to be expected. The best thing to do, in my opinion, is to inspect the toy before you buy and pick out the one that looks best, though you can't really do that with blind bags. If you still end up with a defective toy, you can try returning it, but personally, if it's nothing major, I'd rather not worry with the hassle. It's just something I've learned to accept.
