I'm adding another element of harmony in my fanfic. Good idea?

Well to be more honest, I'm making up a main element, love and tolerance, who will be Megan Williams, which the other six will revolve around!

Megan Williams? Well if you want to be original i say go for it. As long as you can explain it adequately i am willing to hear it. In my own fic i have my own set of "Elements of Harmony" i call "Flames of balance" and i have extended the royal family. I say if i can think of this why can't you do that? Go for it.

Also, since Twilight is shown to be a more important pony than the rest of her friends in the ensemble of the Elements of Harmony, and if love and tolerance is supposed to be axiomatic for all of the other elements, you're generating a gap to be filled by a pony who is supposed to exceed Twilight in terms of centrality. That's a mary-sue role waiting to happen.

Because if one does not have tolerance,then how could one be honest,generous,loyal,kind,want to make everyone laugh and ultimately make friends?

Well, in my story, Megan Williams introduced the term 'friendship is magic' and unknowingly founded Equestria! She's a goddess to the Equestrians and the princesses are high priestesses!

You should have made her the element of Nick Cage. That way no one can win against her, she'll just dress up in a bear costume and punch them in the face.

But having her be the element of Tolerance could work, but I agree that since we already have a canon princess of love it would be a little redundant to make her in charge of that elements.

I don't care what Princess Cadance is or isn't,but its clear she represents love in the show. Again,i think the Element of Tolerance is perfect because it is something that can easily extend to the other 6 elements since you want Megan to be the centerpiece.
