Nopony tells you how hard creating content can be

Well, I guess I should clarify. Nopony tells you how hard creating content can be, if you want to create good content.

To be honest, I don't even know who to complain to without sounding stupid.

Basically. There's a standard of quality that I like to strive for, and I'm reaching the point where I'm ready to leave the experimental stage of most of my projects (you know, the part where you're just starting out and having fun messing around), but I'm hitting a wall. When it comes to my music or drawing or video making, I'm getting hung up on the technical aspects

For my drawings, I'm ready to get serious about my digital drawings but learning how to draw well with a tablet is extremely uncomfortable. It's hard transitioning from looking down at my drawing like I'm used to with a pen and paper to having to look forward at my screen while drawing, and I don't know if I should tough it out or just buy an expensive screened tablet.

For my music, I'm ready to get serious and make some actual music, but I don't know how to make drum beats (like I posts about in an older post). I don't know what I need to do to make drum beats, and I don't know where to go to find that information, and I don't know if I should just bite the bullet and buy some expensive software and hardware.

For my videos, I'm trying to get into the MLP Analysis community - I even have somepony getting ready to make me ~ 40 poses as I type this- but I'm having an issue rendering my videos where they come out fuzzy, even when rendered in 1080p HD. I tried looking around but I can't find a way to make my video looking as crisp as they do in the preview window of my video editing software.

There's definitely  patter here. Now that I'm trying to get serious, I don't know what step I need to move forward. I tried making a similar post about my drum making conundrum but all I got were responses akin to "making music well takes years of school" "don't try to make pony music" "free software isn't going to make you music" or something to that effect; and it was very discouraging.

I'm not really posting here for an answer, because after my drum post I kinda lost hope I'd ever get one. I'm just frustrated, is all. I mean, if I could just get the basics down I could go from there, but even learning the basics seems to be a monumental task in it's own.

*sigh*

I can completely understand this. I recently took my hand at starting one of those tumblr ask blogs (mostly out of bordom) just so I'd have something to do. Then one of my friends who knows some other popular blogs starts showing it around and now I have 300+ followers with only 3 posts and no idea what to do next and the doubts that I can live up to the quality that I started with.

I guess the only real advice I can give is keep trying, don't think about any of them as if their going to last more than a month and just put your best foot forward. Don't think of the destination, but rather the road you want to take.

Hell, my gf started with some of the worst art out there, and now  in only two years I could easily put her in the top for style and general creativity. And the only thing that started all that was pure boredom. Hope something in there helps :)

Well, that was more of a rant than a question. :P

But yeah, you said it yourself: you're frustrated. You can't go forward on your projects.  You're stuck!

If I were you, I'd first narrow down what I wanted to do. Videos, music and drawings are completely different from one another, and I assure you that you can't be good at those three things in such a short time. I'd focus on music, for example. When I get enough progress and comfort in that area, I'd try another one out, like drawing.

It helps, because when you focus on only one task at a time, you perform it better. It also gives you more time to work with it.

Now, about the "walls". If you can't get a drum beat going, or if you don't know if you should buy a tablet or not, well, I don't know either. But I bet a professional knows. Go around, ask people that make good music and drawings what you should do. They might help you find a way to do what you want to do.

Anyway, I'm rambling here. In short, focus on one thing and seek for help. Doing that will get you unstuck in no time! ^^

Well ask around for help man, even if one thread doesn't work out for you, try pm'ing some of the more video/tech savy of the forum members. Even if they cannot help you, they can often lead to resources that allow you to help yourself. You may even be able to get some links to a couple helpful sites from the admin staff here, as they are heavily involved in tech.

And of course making good content is hard, if it wasn't we would not give so much respect to those who create it.

well I'm not sure with what advice I can give you seeing as you don't do what I do I have tried art I suck at it as for music I still haven't given up on making remixes of songs as for making videos I could care less about how low my quality is I will work on it later but what I do is create Fan Fic's sounds easy but it can be stressful especially when having to deal with criticism my advice to you hmm I really don't know mate this really isn't to helpful but this is my best advice practice and get inspired to work sorry this wasn't helpful
