Galatea hadn't really minded the taste of the punch, so she took another sip before her ears flicked, hearing the other mare's question. "Mm? Yeah, it's alright," she responded. She didn't quite realize it then, but the drink was already beginning to have mild effects on her - she always had been a lightweight in terms of holding her alcohol. It started as a warm, relaxing feeling that spread through her, one that eased inhibitions if only a little. Another sip, that feeling felt even better. A light flush of red appeared on her face - though largely concealed it was by her darker red coat - and she found herself feeling quite a bit better about being at this party.

*pfft* "to be completely honest, you seem more like you would be watching over them" Sketchy stated. "I probably couldn't even get a drink without the risk of getting drugged or drunk." He said jokingly... And somewhat seriously.

"But probably at some point I will probably end up participating in something here, or simply do something stupid..." Sketchy admitted chuckling a little bit.

[ACK SO SORRY I WAS AWAY FOR THE WHOLE WEEKEND CAUSE OF FAMILY BUSINESS]

 

Remix smiled, picking up the disc and spinning it on one hoof easily. "Sure! I love this song. So good to remix." she said, throwing it on and giving it a couple of quick flicks with a hoof. Levitating the mic with her magic, she pointed to the crowd, and waved a hoof back and forth. "This is a special track for Rainbow Flow's brother! Also, feel free to make requests throughout the night!" she sung, and smiled as she watched the ponies begin to dance.

 

 

 

Rainbow Flow put on her lucky deep-bass headphones, and grabbed her mic. "And, at every hour, let's have a dance contest! Best dance team wins this trophy!!" As she said that, she levitated up a gold trophy labeled, ' Best Dancer Ever'.

 

 

"So that doesn't really mean your here alone. I mean two siblings? But if it's all the same I'll kick it wit ya a bit!" Boom offered. "Your sister is one of the DJs?! Lucky filly." Badaboom announced looking over to the table where the two mare started up a new track, one that Boom herself was quire fond of. "So...I take it this one is for you, meaning that's your sister?" She continued indicating with her hoof to Rainbow Flow.

 

 

Boom Box laughed. "Yep. And it looks like there's a dance contest happening." He turned to Badaboom. "Care do dance?"

Remix raised an eyebrow at the trophy that seemed to have materialized out of nowhere, but decided not to question it and went with it. She watched the dance floor clear a little, and hummed to herself as she watched a couple of ponies begin to gather within. Her ears twitched slightly as she picked up the sounds of murmuring in the crowd, as ponies jokingly pushed each other into the circle. She grinned, glad that everyone was having a good time. She noticed two ponies by the punch stand, both of them looking suspiciously tipsy. She giggled to herself quietly, eager to find out how this night would end as she spun the disks a little to shift the beat. "Alright everypony! Who's gonna dance?" she shouted eagerly, putting on her headset to allow Rainbow to take the mic.

"Now what do you want to do? Dance? Talk? Try to get colts to ask other mares out?" Shooting asked, giggling at the last one a bit. She didn't notice that the other mare was drunk but was a bit happier that Galatea was more calm and better about the party.

Badaboom wasn't shy about taking to the floor, she never had a problem with loud crowds. Not surprising considering her occupation. Dancing however was a bit more troubling for her. Of course she could shuffle, breakdance, and four step (2-Step) if she ran low on moves, but if there was a slower portion to the competition, she might be outta luck. No harm in trying though she thought with a thankful smile at the stallions offer. "Love too! Guess that means we're the start of a group then." Badaboom added, hearing that it was a group based contest, she wondered how many were ment to be in said groups, or was it just a pair thing? Boom cast the questions aside, sure that they'd be answered soon. With that she began to casually bob her head to the beat while swaying her flank a bit, her lime eyes on Boom Box waiting for him to join in.

Galatea paused, as if trying to think; she found that her mind was a little sluggish, but she also found that she didn't really care all that much. Her ears then flicked up when she heard about some sort of dance competition. She typically wasn't one to put herself out there in front of everypony, but somehow the idea was appealing to her. "Hm, dance competition... Sounds fun."

 

There was one tiny problem, however. The moment she took a step in the direction of the dance floor, she suddenly realized that her balance was off, and she stumbled a bit before catching herself. Feeling almost giddy, she just laughed at her own apparent clumsiness.

 

"Heh, maybe dancing's not such a good idea, after all... How 'bout we go and mingle a bit?"

Badaboom shuffled closer to Boom Box. "Think the stage is ours." She smiled pulling him over to the center of the dance circle, altering her moves to match his. "Badaboom and Boom Box!" She called out for the both of them stepping uyet even closer to him. The music was still rather up beat rather than that of a slow dance, which may work out to her advantage.

 

Spinning around quickly Badaboom arched her back so it was pressing on Boom Box's chest, her moves were close and rapid yet not very suggestive. Mostly obvious improvision Badaboom shuffled all her hooves in rhythm to both the DJs choice and the steps of Boom Box.

"Sure!" Galatea said brightly, seemingly in a peppy mood that was... just downright uncharacteristic of her normally. Normally, she wouldn't even suggest mingling. She typically was the wallflower type at parties whenever she was dragged to one - just hanging out by the punch or wherever, not speaking unless spoken to. Not that Shooting would be aware of how the Earth mare typically acted. She started wandering around, looking for a suitable group to go and mingle with.

She soon spotted a couple of stallions that weren't doing much of anything at that moment. Without a second thought (since judgement was the first to go when intoxicated), she approached them and greeted them with a "Hi there!"

Sketch looked around and shrugged "not too sure about what to-" then a mare comes out of nowhere an says hi. Sketch flinched a bit at the sudden greeting. "uhm, hi..." He said back to the mare. she looked a little... Off, but he assumed it was normal for a place like this so it was probably nothing.

"First up we have..." she paused, waiting for the pair in the center to shout their names, "Badaboom and Boombox!" All the ponies around started cheering, and she bopped along to the music as she danced, her hooves shuffling a little in time. Suddenly, a devious idea formed in her mind, and she quickly switched off the disk and plonked on a slow, R&B track. "Hope you don't mind. I wanna see how this pans out." she said to Rainbow, smirking with a wink.

Shooting greeted the stallions silently by raising her hoof to them and waving. She wasn't really one to do social interactions much. Since it was night and she's normally a night owl she decided to come. She somewhat wished she didn't come.

Badaboom could tell that her partner was enjoying himself, and just as she was about to step it up a notch the bumpin' beat of the hip-hop based music suddenly switched down to a slow paced tune of R&B. She stood still in her hooves, finding it rather difficult to transition to much more mellow tempo. A light shade of red appeared over her face, as Boom found herself at a loss. Slowly swaying in place her eyes fell onto BoomBox's with a pleeding look of hope. Badaboom truly did hope that her Pegasus partner knew his way on the dance floor to this particular style, and would save her embarrassment by taking the lead.

Galatea tilted her head, noticing that she seemed to have startled the both of them. "Did I scare ya? Sorry about that," she apologized with a slightly sheepish smile. Her manner of speaking had changed a little; it sounded more conversational, casual, whereas she typically came off as polite and reserved. Her short tail swished back and forth, and she was swaying a little to the music she heard playing.

 

Then she saw that her new acquaintance Shooting wasn't speaking much. The Earth mare turned to the quieter mare and said, "C'mon, where's the point in mingling if you're not gonna mingle? Relax! It's just a couple of other ponies, they're not gonna bite you or anything!" Ironic, considering that she wasn't normally one to mingle herself. Then again, she was doing quite a few things that she normally wouldn't.

Boom Box saw his partner had stopped when the music slowed, so he quickly grabbed her hoof and pulled her close. "Follow my lead." He whispered in her ear, pulling her along with the beat.

Remix inwardly squealed when she saw the two of them slow dance. "Oh my gosh so happy. SO HAPPY." she exclaimed, before letting the track play to it's end. She waited for the applause and furious hoof-stomping to die down before she smiled, and adjusted her head set while clearing her throat. "Okay! Sorry for changing the track, wanted to mix it up and see how you two adapted. Every pair will get the chance, don't you worry!" she said happily, before waiting for the next couple to come up.

"I'm Shooting, you?" Shooting introduced to the two. It wasn't that she didn't want to mingle, she it's had a hard time socializing with others if they were new to her. In fact, she really wanted to mingle, it was just her personality that kept her from it.

Allowing herself to be practicality dragged around by BoomBox, Badaboom did try to step in place, surprisingly she wasn't doing horribly. Her foot work was a bit anxious, however she had her partner as a speed limiter as she was especially careful not to take the lead. At one point however she twirled away from the Pegasus only to twirl back in attempt to add flavor to the dance, slow as it was.

 

A wide smile was plastered to her face, the tips of her large canine teeth brushing her lower lip, as the song reached it's conclusion. Generally applause didn't get to her, this time however the attention warranted a little bit of a blush from the mare. Badaboom moved quickly from the floor pulling BoomBox along with her, as to make room for the next couple that was to partake.

 

"Well that was fun! How 'bout some punch, don' know why but that took it outta me." Boom smiled readying two glasses of punch, unknowingly spiked, handing one off to BoomBox. Her eyes unknowingly still locked on his, as they were since the starting of the dance.

"Oh, where's my manners! I'm Galatea," she introduced herself with a giggle. Wait, a giggle? No, this mare never giggled. Yet, she was. But of course, only those that knew how she normally was would see the obvious discrepancy in her behavior. Even then, it was likely pretty apparent that she had temporarily taken leave of her senses. Was that really such a bad thing, though?

 

Her attention wandering for a moment, she glanced over at the dance floor. Though she wasn't the most coordinated at this point in time - and she knew it, supposedly so - dancing still sounded like so much fun. "Hey, hey, how 'bout we all go and dance when the next song starts?" she suggested.
