AlbaTross 1,586 July 5, 2014 Share July 5, 2014 It's possible. It could also be an oversight on the part of the show's staff. After seeing running of the leaves episode, which takes place only two episodes after Winter Wrap Up, I have to question whether the small details are really on the minds of those behind the series. Then again, it would also make sense, if the bats were diurnal, since they make their homes in trees, and not inside of them either, which is hardly an ideal habitat for a nocturnal creature, and I don't think Sweet Apple Acres is that close to the nearest cave. Sunny Fox 5,961 July 5, 2014 Share July 5, 2014 Some species of fruit bats can be dirunal. Guess the ones in the episode were of this variety. So, they did do their research. 1 Happy minion of The Fabulous One! Silver Letter 1,832 July 5, 2014 Share July 5, 2014 I agree with the others. They probably thrive in both day and night. Silver Letter!!! Silver Letter's MLP collection Have: 946 https://data.mlpmerch.com/checklist/180/

It makes sense, given their habits, and preference for settling in trees. The Apple Family Reunion episode also had bats in it, if I recall correctly, and they appeared before the sun went down.

You're right, but Applejack disturbed them by bucking the trees they were in, so it doesn't really prove those ones were diurnal. Happy minion of The Fabulous One! Neither were any of the other ponies, and they are undeniably diurnal. 1 Happy minion of The Fabulous One!
