Was season 4 meant to be the most emotive of all?

I haven't watched too much of season 4, but in just the 5 first episode I've seen:

 

- Twilight crying twice

- Fluttershy crying for Angel as she never did before

- Rainbow Dash depressed for the first time

- Scootaloo depressed for the first time

 

You know, that was something not very common in past seasons and I wondered if it did.

OK, I know Twilight has cried in previous episodes, but never like she did in Princess Twilight Sparkle when she saw Celestia fall.

I don't think so, every season had its emotive episodes.

Scootaloo has Sleepless in Ponyville. Amazing Scoots and Dash episode ... and and argument can be made that she was depressed there too.

 

Depends on what triggers the feels for the viewer. I say SFS is more emotional for Rarity than RTM ... but some may disagree with me. Pinkie Pride I loved better than her crazy pants episode. So it just depends.

 

Fluttershy crying at Discord though .... WOW! I mean that was intense.
