I made a thing!

Well, I can't draw to save my life, but I have tried my hand at ceramics a few times.  So today I was bored, and for the first time in years got out the clay and saw what I could do with MLP.  So, this is what I made:

Right now the piece is drying, so I'll probably paint it tomorrow or Sunday maybe.  I ain't looking forward to that.  Hope I don't wreck it.

It ain't perfect, but it ain't bad for a first attempt if I do say so myself.  Next time I'll have to try and make the legs a bit more slender, and the wings ought to fit onto the piece better.

Anyway.  What do y'all think?  :)

It's nice. I likes allot. :3

It takes a certain talent for something like that and I think you did well. *nuzzles*

I didn't even think to check.  Actually, the wings were an afterthought.  I was pretty sure I was done, so I started packing up my stuff, and then when I was done cleaning up, when I put it all away, THAT'S when I remembered that I was supposed to be making a Pegasus, not an Earth Pony.  So I was rushing to add the wings before it dried out.  Next time hopefully I won't be such a scatterbrain. :P

Very nice! You must post pictures after you paint it. I'd like to see how it turns out :P

I will.  I'm a bit nervous about painting, though.  I've only ever glazed ceramic projects before, and all I had to do was evenly coat it.  My lack of painting skill is the reason I always went for clay classes in the first place.

Like I said, I ain't the best at painting, but the finished project didn't turn out so bad.

Hope next time I can do a bit better, and make my pony a bit taller.  I don't quite like how she turned out to be all squat and whatnot.  Opinions? :)

It looks really good. Art that is roughly made is like trail and error. Sure, mistakes will be made but understanding where to improve helps make it better next time.

It looks good for a rough attempt for sure. Practice more and you'll certainly get better.
