(Stupid lagging post button on my stupid lagging phone).

 

When she came back with the tea, he wondered to himself how she had managed to not drop the teapot In the wrong place and have it smash into the ground. "One is fine, thank you. Two is a bit too sweet to tell the truth", he said with a small hiss in his voice.

"Alright" Shadow said before dropping a cube of sugar into his tea. She put two in her own tea. "I like my tea extra sweet..." She said with a smile. She noticed his voice change, it had a hiss to it. She didn't want to sound rude but she really wanted to know "Is something wrong? There is a slight hiss in your voice..."

"No...I um...always talk like this when- nice going Hive- uh..Storm.....I give up. I'm just making this worse and worse for my self", he said before taking a deep breathe. "Look...if I tell you...you need to promise to keep it a secret from absolutely everypony, I'm begging you", he said in a panicked tone.

"Alright my lips are sealed, I promise you... whats that thing my friend does." She began speaking slowly as she tried to remember "Cross my heart.... Hope to fly... umm... stick a cupcake in me eye?" She said slightly confused about the last part. She began to think about if she got it right or not.

"Okay......that was....kind of weird. But anyways, I think you got it right...I remember hearing something like that from Pinkie Pie before. Now, the reason my voice was changing and you hear me hissing is because I am not a normal pony", he said shakily. He takes a deep breath and whispers, "I am actually a changeling, please don't hate me".

She looked at him with a faint smile "I don't hate you... Just because your a changeling, isn't a valid reason to hate somepony. I'm a little mad that you lied to me but that still isn't a reason to hate you. So if you are not the pony you were pretending to be... What is your real name?" She asked before taking a sip of her tea.

"Hivemind. And I'm sorry that I lied about it but I.really had no choice. In any city or town, I have to pretend to be somepony else just so they try to kill me or run me out. I mean, I'm not even anything like Chrysilis. Me and my hive don't eat love that wouldn't help our case any", he said quietly.

"Really I never understood the hate, don't Changelings have to feed on love to survive? Then I guess it would be okay to an extent, how would ponies feel if they were attacked because they were trying to eat or drink..." She said before taking another sip of her tea before setting it back down on the table. "You also mentioned your hive, you have your own hive?"

"Yes and no. My hive is made up of her changelings who don't want to follow her so I take them in. I have only eaten love maybe four times and that was because I had absolutely no choice whatsoever. Now though, my hive uses a nourishment spell so we don't have to feed on pony's love".

"A nourishment spell? I have read a large amount of spell books and I have never seen a nourishment spell in any of them..." She began to think "also I have always thought that Changelings; when it came to leadership,  were like ants or bees, they would follow their Queen without question and you would never see a rough one, but now I guess I was wrong..."

"The spell was written specifically for me. Was starving becauuse I barely fed on love but then this unicorn wrote the nourishment spell for me so I would live. Still don't know why he cared, though", he said taking from his tea. "And every so often, changelings do go rouge....mutation, evolution, call it whatevef you want"..

"Who was the unicorn that made the spell for you? You don't have to tell me if you don't want to, I'm just curious." She said before taking another sip of her tea. "I guess the rough ones are growing a free will... I'm guessing like you, unless... you were born with a free will." She said.

"I don't mind telling you, except he would probably kill me if he found out that I did", he replied with a dry laugh. "Yeah, I always had a will of my own. I refused to follow her from the start and ended up running away which led to me damn near starving to death".

She looked at him "how come you were born different, with a free will..." She asked before setting down her tea "also can you at least tell me who is Storm Strafe?" She asked before levitating her tea in front of her and looking at it as she thought. She then took a sip of her tea.

"Storm Strafe is the like great-great-great-great-great-great grand son of the aforementioned unicorn who made the nourishment spell for me. He also happens to currently be a high-ranking officer of the Royal Guard. (OOC-By the way.. the unicorn is Dusk Shade, the personal Knight and guard of Princess Luna just so you aren't actually stuck wondering).

(okay, thanks for telling me. But also, either Dusk is immortal or Hive is...)

 

"How old are you.... or how old is that unicorn?" She asked kind of shocked and confused. She looked at him with a confused look. She set her tea down and said "do... all changelings have really long life spans, because all the books I have read say that changelings only live around 100 years... hmmm I should really check the authenticity of my books..."

(Dusk Shade is ageless because Luna cast a spell on him so he would age like she does because that way he would be able to serve her as long as possible).

 

"Me? I'm 28. Dusk Shade is over a thousand. And no, most changelings don't have very long life spans so that book was accurate".

"oh, good I don't have to throw out or edit any books... also just saying I'm also 28..." She said before giving out a relieved sigh at the fact that her books were accurate, she doesn't really like fiction books. Especially Non-fiction books that are inaccurate. It has always been a pet-peeve of hers.

"Well, that's good. I guess it would probably be a pain to have to edit everything in your books, and a nice mare like you shouldn't have to go through all of that trouble", he said hitting himself for how sappy he sounded. "Just out of curiosity, how would you have gone about editing them"?

"Since I translate books from Equestrian to Braille, I would have to re-write the entire book, even if I only have to edit a single word. Mostly because you can't erase Braille." She took a sip of her tea. "to avoid Piracy problems, I never tell anypony I edited them so the original author gets the credit... even though most ponies never notice the book is edited because it is written in braille."

He slid just a fraction of an inch closer to her. "So...you actually edited all these books from their original Equestrian script to Braille so you could actually read them? Seriously. All of them, that pretty impressive, I.have to admit", he said before taking a sip of his tea.

"Yeah, but it took since I was 16 to translate all the books I have in my house." She said with a smile. "I started doing it once I noticed a lack of Braille books in Equestria. I actually didn't have to pay as much for college because I provided my own books... also because I had a scholarship."

"Twelve years really isn't that long for the massive undertaking that it was. What did you earn your scholarship for if I may ask?", he asked trying to keep the hissing at a minimum amount so as not to annoy Shadow. He took a sip from his tea and waited for her story.

"I got a Social Work Scholarship" She said before looking at him "also the reason I was able to translate all these books in just twelve years was because I devoted most of my time to it. I wasn't the most social pony when I was younger, I didn't start making any real friends until high school."

"I was pretty social but it was always in the form of another so of sucked pretty hard. At least you had the option of making real friends....all my friends were ponies I lied to so they wouldn't knowvthe truth...but eventually somepony found put and spread word and I've been using Storm's form ever since.
