Why do people think Tirek was the final antagonist?

Yes, according to Tirek's page on Villain wiki, there are apparently people out there who think Tirek was the final antagonist, despite the generation being slated to last at least 5 more years, with season 5 (and probably more) coming up on the horizon. but why jump to this conclusion so soon? (on a side note, Tirek was also added to the "villains who are biologically related to the protagonist" category......for some reason?)

Not sure, I have no doubt there will be villains in season 5. I mean, that's one of the main reasons the show is so great, and ultimately what sets it apart from some past generations (besides the new look.)

I think a lot of people felt due to most mlp series ending so early maybe they thought this one was likely to be the same however the end was yhe greatest in mlp history if not ever so they feel it should be the last. I dunno im just guessing but for me tirek was the greatest cartoon battle in the past many years and is up the top with dbz as it took from dbz and did an awsome job of it and as it was ponies in a so called 6yo girls cartoon lol sssuuurree it did massive justice to the brony fandom and revamped the mlp series so much so that mlp is no longer gender driven and who did this exactly? Lauren faust and the people she so greatly chose to work with. The series has truelly gottenn20% cooler if not way more since laurens take over. This is all just my own opinion though.

There'll be new villains , but I guess some people think that because nobody went as far as Tirek (he absorbed everypony's magic, even the princesses, and started to destroy Equestria).

gotta admit that was childish but also why its funny lol I dont think it was his character its because we knew nothing of him nor did we get much of a dialogue so its not the character for me and as I said thats why they should do another episode on him so we can go further into his past and what changed him. Something like what they didnat the start of season 4 or have say twilight and some other characters go back to the past like she did before forgot the name and number of the episode but yeah anyway id love a new story on sombra to give him another chance or even have him and tirek bring tartarus to equestria. That to me would be dark and epic.

Tirek kind of felt like a final antagonist, even if he wasn't. He was definitely the most powerful of all FiM villains we've seen so far (though I don't think he's most magically powerful, his manipulative personality is useful to his motives).

...but I wouldn't trust the Villains wiki. No wiki is very reliable, and that one's no exception.

That reminds me of a character very similar to Discord from the 2001's cartoon called Samurai Jack, one of my favourite cartoons of all time.

that was a bad fan fic ok not bad but it wss ok I guess the one I loved though was tale of one shadow as a backing story as it seems somewhat plausable and the song gave it the emotion doubt they would use that though but yeah I agree give him another villanous chance to redeem himself

sounds a bit right but not entirely where id go. Maybe do something like dbz again but like the androids bring a bad guy they cant beat but dont kill them just send them different directions on the run like they gave up until say celestia who was banished makes a distressed telepathic message to one of the 6 say like fluttershy or applejack as she cant reach twilight. Sooo the one she contacts has to find twilight and reunite the 6 and regain the friendship that was abandoned for fear of something too powerful. As they unite they find there powers become stronger as they have created a much more powerful spark in there reunion. Also awakening new powers unknown to them.
