Quill, ink and, ponies (Critique plz)

So about a 4 months ago I broke my favorite ink quill *sad face* and around that same time I started doing more digital art related works. Because of reasons mentioned, I haven't drawn anything traditionally in a while and really had a craving to do some quill and paper works.

This was the result!

Also, because I haven't done this in such a long time I would love a critique on my artwork, if you have one for me that is...   :please:

Anywhoo, as always thanks for stopping by and viewing my artwork!~ (。・ω・。)ノ♡

*runs over hills and into the land of shattered self-esteem*

Im sorry, it wasn't my intention to harm anybody. :(

Quite the opposite, my aim was to create something that people enjoy. :\

Thats one of the bigger reasons that I do what I do. :)

  • 2 weeks later...

This... this... i have no words...

As a Cartoonist, i have resigned myself to the fact that I will never EVER get this level of art even if I tried. Although, technically speaking, seeing as I have no formal training, I would have to say I am pretty good.. most of the time... and that is WITH a pencil... I cannot do this with INK. And here you are with, not only ink, but a feather quill and ink? Bravo... plus 1000 pony points for you!

no critique here either, but i LOVE the way you render hair and their eyes!  they look like they came straight out of an old childrens book!

Oh man!

You have no idea just how happy your comment makes me!

It means Iv finally for once achieved a look that I was going for! ^^

Thank you so so much!  :D

Oh, I can most definitely assure you that you get better with time and practice.

To be honest with you, Im nowhere near where I want to be.

I have only been drawing for just a little under a year now and, I mean this in the way that it wasn't an everyday 4 hours a day practice. More or less just when ever I was in the mood and had free time.

Here's one of the first pony drawings Iv ever done. I think it was around mid summer 2013 so, it really doesn't take long to improve as long as you sick with it. Every artist starts out as crap.

Exactly what I mean... You have the raw TALENT for art. I have been drawing for at least 12 years and I still am not as great as I would like.

Awesome level of detail. I may not personally enjoy the style, but I can respect the level of detail and sheer craftsmanship.
