How did you find MLP Forums?: Google searching prices for the Bronycon trip I wanna take next year ^.^

How you became a fan of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic: Like any other 16 year old guy. I mindlessly hated on bronies until I caved into my own curiosity... Now its 3 A.M. and I'm posting on a mlp welcoming forum.

         Well I'm currently a freshman in college, just getting my basics out of the way. I absolutely love philosophy and the ways it makes me think. I also enjoy drawing and plan on getting drawing tablet soon (might even make a few pony pictures). My other big hobby is League of Legends. I've been playing it for years but, lately I'm falling a bit out of it.

 

         I live in Dothan, Alabama. There aren't too many bronies around here, so I don't have many people I can even talk about this with. In fact I've gotten opinions on how most people I know think about bronies and it isn't all that good. And it's so annoying to me that these same people can be in complete support of other things like gay rights (not that I have a problem with that), but won't give bronies the time of day. Agh, I'm sorry this turned into a rant.

 

        Well TL;DR

1. I'm an 18 year old guy who likes asking people about reality and the meaning of life

2. I don't know many bronies irl but I want to be active in the community any way possible

I love that you actually asked, because I believe that you believed that I had a really long and pseudo intelectual answer... but in fact I don't xD

I really believe what a mere average human calls reality is a mix of what their senses are capable of grasping with the concepts they were presented in youth, which explains why some people call a city "Doomsvile" while another, in the same city, may call it "paradise"

 

For me... life is a experience for us to explore... but most people forget it, and instead of exploring, they just try to follow the path

Reality and the way we perceive what is "real" is different for every person. If the both of us were looking at a tree at the same time; we couldn't see the same view of the tree at that moment. This begs the question "which is the real tree?". This question is commonly applied to art as the only person with the answer is the artist, but in this case we can't just ask God (if you even have religious beliefs). With this in mind, we must assume what we see is "real", but also understand that people can see the same thing a different way.

 

TL;DR Reality is your way of perceiving what is "real" to you. Thankfully we can safely say that "I" exist because I can think. "I think ,therefore I am".

Now the tree: I have had this discussion before, but with a chair instead of a tree, and my opinion didn't change much since then, you're looking to the same tree, but in a different perspective when compared to the other person, you can't really se the whole, even if it was a 2D cartoony tree, you can only see a part of it, you can't see all the layers at once, but I believe the perspective you get from a single angle can be considered one of the realities of the tree

Well I haven't studied much on Stoic personally. I know he is a greek philosopher and many of the philosophers at that time made most of the well known ideas. Sry for the late reply I'm playing LoL with people :X
