Ah, following the route of adventure time. Would that make the portal to the "Human World" a sort of time machine then?

Would that make the portal to the "Human World" a sort of time machine then? Probably. Heck it could be that bringing magic from Equestria into the human world is what eventually transformed it into Equestria to begin with. I know that's a bootstrap paradox because it begs the question of where the magic came from in the first place, but then again "It's About Time" happened which showed Twilight getting info on where to find a time-travel spell from her time-travelling future self, so I guess bootstrap paradoxes are somehow just okay in this universe? Idk. Edited May 5, 2020 by Soaring Symphony

I no longer think that's the case though. We also have these to go off of. Stained glass image of a globe from the old intro. \ This map that was on the cover of a book in Capper's house in the movie. It doesn't quite line up and I have no evidence for it, but I think that might be an inland sea which could be the equivalent to our Mediterranean and laybetween Griffonstone and the Dragon Lands. This was the map table as of Season 5. And here's the most recent, Season 8 episode 6 version of this table, which we see briefly for the first 2 seconds of the episode. Sorry it's not of good quality. I tried to outline land masses as best I could. And of course the current official map. It's nice to get a bigger view of the world but I kind of miss the older map where we could base it more off of our world. Also I hate Starlight's village is located. You can have areas of desert in northern areas next to the ocean if you're pinned between mountain ranges like Eastern Washington, USA and it's neighboring region tot he north, Eastern British Columbia, Canada, but the mountain ranges in those places bar you from ocean access, where as Starlight's village has an open bath to it in the east, and a large body of fresh water to the west which I assume is meant to be the equivalent of the great lakes region! We still have our work cut out for us That’s very interesting

They're located just North East of Neighagra Falls, and importantly some larger lakes which could be representative of our Great Lakes. Singapore, Michigan is a ghost town on the East side of Lake Michigan. After the Great Chigago Fire in 1871, the area was stripped of its forests to rebuild homes. What they didn't know was those forests acted as a buffer for the strong winds that blew off of the lake. With nothing to stop them, those winds carried vast amounts of sediment that formed dunes against the buildings in Singapore, and began to bury the town. It was abandoned in 1875, though a yacht club still operates on its shore. It's not perfect, but "Our Town" is technically near enough the right geographical features, and close enough to a real world equivalent for this oddity to occur. I don't believe it's what the show actually had in mind, but it works! Edited November 24, 2024 by SharpWit

Player the FNFL Boi 122 December 3, 2024 Share December 3, 2024 The first screenshot is from an earlier season 2 episode. The official map was designed after season 2. My guess is that the globe was just designed specifically for this episode and not in any way meant to be the canon equestria map. "Yes! I won! I finally won!"
