Slice0Pie 815 September 27, 2014 Share September 27, 2014 So, I'm trying out a new art style for ponies, and it's suppose to be more realistic. I tried drawing some ponies and I was proud of myself, but I would love it if you gave me come critique, thanks!

SweetJeans88 408 September 29, 2014 Share September 29, 2014 (edited) x3 actually your stuff is looking kinda like "The last Unicorn" graphic novel i have. i love the way the unicorns are drawn in it--almost deer like. :3 critique though....hmm the tummy is a bit off. it needs to bow downwards, horses are very barrel bellied, or you can start from the rib cage and taper it down--slimming as you get tot he hips--like canines. either one will usually look good. the tail is a bit stiff, but i think you just ran out of room. the tail is a continuation of the spine, so its usually just easier to go ahead and make that in one fluid mark. it will fluff at he base though, just because of fullness. youre better off leaving out the tendons lines if youre going for elegance--kinda like wit noses, its better portrayed in shading. You only really need a hard line there if youre conveying strength, masculinity or some kind of stress the character is under. BUT i like your head shape, the general proportions, and lanky legs with fetlock feathering are always pretty to me haha xD Edited September 29, 2014 by SweetJeans88 GO CONTRIBUTE! my art: here, and tumblr
