Do you love or hate your parents?

I can't answer that question without at least 2 lawyers and 3 *trusted* psychologists.

I haven't spoken to them in years and don't intend to. I can only describe very violent intent towards them these days.

I tend not to love people who mistreat me, so no I can't say I love my mum. I had to claw my way out of the hole she left me in. Strict and judgemental, left me depressed and suicidal for years trying to fit the 'mould' of what was acceptable for her. Once I threw those shackles off I felt I could start living a life at the expense of what little remained of that relationship.

It's easier to say I love my dad, though I only ever saw him maybe twice a year whilst growing up. He doesn't act nearly as nastily as my mum so there's that.
