Hello forums,

Just a rather curious inquiry. So recently I've decided that I'd undergo my interest and practice Buddhism. So just for curiosity purposes, is there any other ponies on the path to enlightenment? :)

Also I there are, anypony care to lend a helping hoof to a newcomer to the teachings of Buddha?

Not really having a specific religious preference here (but not an atheist). But I do know some stuff about Buddhism.

I would say a relatively good way to achieve enlightenment is by first practicing your awareness.

In my opinion it's easier if you try to not lament the past, worry too much about the future, and focus on the present. Feel the information from the world you are currently experiencing right at this moment.

This is a mindset that will help you in your way to achieve enlightenment. But personally I think one shouldn't try to bash themselves when they can't achieve it nor try to establish a sense of superiority over others when achieved, because I don't think that's how enlightenment works, at least from my observation.

Another apparent theory form my observation is the miniminization of attachment, be it to physical such as money or mental such as love. It DOES NOT mean you shouldn't experience them. It's just you keep it at a controllable level, so even when stuff didn't go the way you wanted, you feel content and happy.

Although I am an atheist I do have respect for Buddhism and the Dalai Lama, it definitely seems to be the nicest belief system and hasn't caused much harm. And I haven't seen any Buddhists around here(although I'm sure they'll exist).
