MooCowing 32 October 25, 2014 Share October 25, 2014 So... this is the first time I've ever actually wanted to make a Pony OC with a story fleshed out and eventually roleplay. I've been working on her design the last couple of nights. This is what I came up with: (The first one was hand drawn. The second one has anatomy fixes and I was experimenting with vector lines, which I have to admit was easier to get a consistent line thickness. Critiques welcome.) So here are my problems. 1. ) She doesn't have a name. I need a name! Suggestions? 2. ) I have no idea how to write a background story for a pony. Any tips? 1 Lucky Charms Grease Lightning

A good set of colours, and I like her bandana. 1. Highland Belle (She's pretty and her headscarf made me think of Scotland) 2. You should start with how she earned her cutie mark, and what it means. Then you can work backwards to flesh out her background. 1 Happy minion of The Fabulous One! Tao 7,756 October 25, 2014 Share October 25, 2014 (edited) Wild Rose Irish Rose Lucky Bell Golden Bell Belladonna Shine Starting out with a cutie mark is good but make sure you give your OC flaws, room to grow and depth. Look at other OC's also and how other plays have made them and even to look to Fav Cannons from books to shows or tv and see how have traits that make them good and bad. I also wish to steal your vector skills Edited October 25, 2014 by Tao
Everleaf 541 October 25, 2014 Share October 25, 2014 Her name could possibly be fruit related.... With her backstory try not to go over...try to level her story out as much as possible with both the good and bad, oh yes and don't forget her cutiemark. 1 The deepest of the Everfree! MooCowing 32 October 25, 2014 Author Share October 25, 2014 Thanks for all of your replies! I like the Belle-type names, since that's exactly the look I was going for. Sort of a country style Southern Belle type, with a hint of Applejack-ness. I'm glad that came across. Someone I know suggested a name with "Lucky" in it. She said that "U" horse shoes are a symbol of good luck whereas when flipped over "n" horseshoes (like her cutie mark) are a symbol of bad luck. I think the name Lucky with a history of bad luck following her would be ironic. But Lucky what? Hmm.... Ooh, very nicely done! A good set of colours, and I like her bandana. 1. That's actually a really awesome compliment to get for a first try. Thank you~ <3 I was thinking about experimenting a little bit tonight with some freebies (only one or two) but since I'm still new here I'm not sure where to go about posting a free art thread... I'd like some practice before opening a commission shop. Would you like one? If you do send me a PM with your favorite OC.
